You’ll lead projects end‑to‑end – from early concept and funding through to mobilisation, delivery, evaluation and legacy – ensuring programmes are well governed, well delivered and genuinely impactful.
In this varied and high-profile role, you will be:
- Managing a diverse portfolio of projects, campaigns and partnerships, delivered to agreed scope, budget, timelines and quality
- Working closely with external partners, funders and suppliers to coordinate delivery and maximise impact

This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with colleagues across Partnerships & Communities, Group Projects, Operations, Support Services and external organisations.
Our ideal candidate:
You’ll be a confident and values‑driven project professional who combines strong delivery discipline with empathy, creativity and influence.
- Proven experience leading complex projects end‑to‑end in multi‑stakeholder environments
- A strong understanding of project governance, assurance, risk management and portfolio delivery
- Experience working with partners, community organisations or suppliers, building trusted, productive relationships
- Confidence managing budgets, financial planning and value‑for‑money decisions within projects
- Excellent communication skills – able to translate complex information into clear, engaging messages for varied audiences
- Experience using project management tools and digital reporting platforms (e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Visio or similar)
- A recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent) or equivalent experience
- A genuine commitment to inclusion, co‑production and social impact, with an understanding of safeguarding and ethical delivery

Your role

Your role

Mass Participation Events Manager
The role of Mass Participation Events Manager is an exciting new role that will be integral to building on the success of our new mass fundraising product – Walk For A Cure (WFAC).
WFAC is our flagship fundraising event series of 5k accessible walks, bringing together anyone impacted by dementia for a shared purpose- to find a cure.
We have big ambitions for the growth of this exciting mass participation product and next year we will be improving on the microsite functionality, stewardship journeys, and marketing plans to help us drive increased fundraising and remittance.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and delivery partners to ensure the events are delivered on time and to target by putting in place a robust project plan, working groups, reporting and evaluations and ensuring our processes and procedures are fit for purpose.
This role sits within the Supporter-led Fundraising (SLF) team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) sitting within the Fundraising and Marketing Directorate and is responsible for securing income from individuals, groups, and corporates in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management:
· Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan for WFAC, guiding cross-functional teams through its execution.
· Manage project risks and decisions to ensure smooth project progression.
· Establish and lead internal working groups or workstreams for effective collaboration.
· Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders involved in the WFAC project.
· Promote best practices in project management across the organization, working closely with the central Projects Team.
Collaboration and Coordination:
· Collaborate closely with internal teams, external agencies, and delivery partners to ensure successful event delivery.
· Oversee deliverables from key agencies and ensure alignment with project objectives.
· Work with ARUK teams such as marketing and design to define roles, responsibilities, and timelines.
· Provide on-the-day event delivery support at all WFAC events.
Reporting and Communication:
· Generate weekly reports and updates for the Heads of Mass Participation & Relationship Fundraising to track project progress and address any issues.
· Facilitate ARUK-wide updates on the WFAC project, ensuring alignment with key teams.
· Stay informed about ARUK's strategic direction, organisational goals, and priorities.
Data and Insight:
· Collaborate with Insight specialists to gather internal and external insights needed to understand the WFAC audience.
· Work with the data team to establish PowerBI dashboards for product performance insight and lifecycle management.
Accessibility and Inclusivity:
· Work with key internal teams to support on delivering accessibility at WFAC events the development of a 'Dementia Friendly Mass Participation Event' framework.
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
· Demonstrable experience of using project managements principles and techniques to coordinate multiple workstreams, stakeholders, risks and deadlines.
· Experience managing agencies and suppliers and ensuring all contractual requirements are delivered on time and budget.
· Demonstrable experience in championing a product at an organisational level with excellent skills in influencing and negotiation.
· Project Management experience.
· Experience of analysing and monitoring data in a consumer/supporter environment and utilising outputs to advise and drive forward activity.
· Skills in producing evaluations, reporting on objectives and sharing insights.
· Demonstrable ability to work with a variety of different internal and external stakeholders at all levels
· Willingness to travel throughout the UK and to work event weekends including overnight stays- primarily WFAC events.
· A self-starter, able to work with independence, drive and initiative.
· Creative flair, with a strong eye for detail.

Ways of working:
As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

About the role
The Community Fundraising Assistant will provide administrative, fundraising and event support to the Events and Community team, helping to deliver excellent stewardship to community supporters and ensure the smooth running of fundraising activities and events. Key Responsibilities
Supporter communications and engagement
- Assist with incoming and outgoing communications via telephone, email, post and social media as required.
- Respond to enquiries from community fundraisers and supporters, providing excellent customer service and timely information.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with community supporters, fundraisers and volunteers.
- Support stewardship activity, including thank-you communications, recognition initiatives, supporter updates and follow-up.
- Support the creation and distribution of supporter communications and fundraising materials.

Fundraising materials and administration
- Prepare, pack and post fundraising materials, resources and supporter packs.
- Monitor stock levels of fundraising materials and assist with reordering when required.

Data management
- Accurately record and update supporter information on the organisation's CRM or database.
- Assist with maintaining data quality and ensuring records are accurate and compliant with relevant data protection requirements.

Research project
- Take the lead on a designated research project to identify potential fundraising opportunities, trends, partnerships, or community engagement initiatives.
- Gather, analyse and present findings to the fundraising team.

- Manage the project timeline and provide regular updates on progress.
Events support
- Provide administrative and practical support for fundraising and community events as required.
- Support attendee communications and volunteer coordination where necessary.

About you

Tasks and Responsibilities

- Support the adoption of digital and contactless giving.
- Provide fundraising guidance and training to volunteers and local leaders.
- Monitor performance, report on KPIs and provide strategic insight to senior leadership.
About you
You will be an experienced fundraiser with a strong track record of generating income through grants, campaigns and donor engagement.
You'll be confident building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and able to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
You will have:
- Significant fundraising experience, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
- A successful track record of securing grants and delivering fundraising campaigns.
- Experience of stewardship, major appeals or capital fundraising.
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Experience using CRM or donor databases and Microsoft 365.
Experience within a faith-based, heritage or community organisation would be advantageous, along with an appreciation of working within a values-led organisation.
