About The Advocacy Project
We help people speak up and make decisions about their health, wellbeing and social care. We’re here to make sure people who are vulnerable because of their circumstance can understand their rights, make effective choices about their lives and voice their concerns.
Some of the ways we do this include:
·advocacy services that make sure people can express their wishes when decisions are being made about their care or wellbeing
·user involvement projects that help organisations improve what they offer by listening to people who use their services
·local Healthwatch services, which act as health and social care champions for the areas they serve and give people a direct channel to share their feedback
Our services are independent, confidential, and free to those receiving them. Together, our teams are standing up for essential rights and supporting people to have a say on the issues that matter to them.
About the role
You’ll provide a warm and professional presence and a welcoming space to everyone that contacts The Advocacy Project. You’ll interact regularly with senior managers from local government and the NHS, local councillors, charities, and people in need of our services. Some of those who use our services may be unwell or in desperate need of help. A calm, professional manner is therefore key. You’ll be proactive in finding ways to help people, whether through making a referral to our services or signposting to services provided by other organisations.
Key responsibilities
î Answer calls professionally and in line with our customer service standards
î Manage the info email box ensuring all queries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
î Listen to voicemails and take appropriate action
î Refer queries about existing referrals to the appropriate advocate or service manager proactively. Where appropriate chase to ensure that the advocate or manager has continued to work on the case
î Make referrals to our own service using the web form which helps you enter relevant information into our Case Management System
î Maintain a list of services provided by other organisations so that you can signpost people if they need a service that we do not offer
î Upload reports received from external agencies into our Case Management System
î Act with care and attention in line with our data protect and confidentiality policies; you’ll be dealing with sensitive personal data
î Follow a simple flowchart; remain alert to potential safeguarding situations where prompt action needs to be taken to keep people safe
î Call the Duty Advocate and request assistance on complex cases
î Raise potential issues and problems with your manager at the earliest possible opportunity

Age UK Bromley & Greenwich is an independent local charity supporting older people across both boroughs. We work to enable, support and connect older people, promote independence and wellbeing and ensure their voices are heard.
We are looking for an Information & Advice Triage Worker to be the first point of contact for older people, carers and their families seeking support.
About the role
This role is central to our Information & Advice service. You will provide high-quality initial information and guidance, assess urgency and risk, and ensure people are directed quickly and appropriately to advice services, support services or partner organisations.
You will often be the first person someone speaks to, so a calm, empathetic and professional approach is essential.
Key responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, mainly by telephone, with some face-to-face and email contact
Provide accurate information on issues affecting older people including benefits, housing, care, health and local services
Carry out structured triage to identify needs, priorities and risks
Manage expectations clearly and sensitively
Identify safeguarding concerns and follow organisational procedures
Make timely referrals to internal services and external partners
Maintain clear professional boundaries while offering a warm, person-centred response
Record all contacts accurately and promptly on the organisation’s CRM system
Maintain clear, concise and professional case notes
Ensure confidentiality, consent and data protection requirements are met
Work closely with advisers, service coordinators and partner agencies
Take part in team meetings, supervision and training
Keep knowledge up to date on welfare benefits, services and local provision
Promote Age UK Bromley & Greenwich services positively and professionally
About you
Essential
Experience in frontline information, advice, triage or high-volume customer contact work
Confidence handling calls from people who may be distressed, anxious or frustrated
Strong listening and questioning skills
Ability to assess urgency and risk and take appropriate action
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Experience using a CRM or case management system
Good general IT skills including email and Microsoft applications
Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and professional boundaries
Awareness of issues affecting older people and carers
Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
Empathy, patience and a non-judgemental approach
Desirable
Experience in the voluntary sector or health and social care

We are a well-respected local charity with more than 85 years’ experience of delivering free, independent and impartial information, advice and casework services which meet the changing needs of local residents. Role Purpose
The Camden Food Mission is a new service designed to deliver advice in food settings across Camden. This service is a direct response to local food insecurity across the council. It will deliver a floating advice service embedded primarily within food support locations, aiming to reach people who would not otherwise access advice services. The service will focus on stabilising income, managing debt, and reducing reliance on crisis provision.
The project will be delivered through a mix of face-to-face, telephone, and digital channels. Face-to-face appointments will be held in community food locations, with an emphasis on a flexible, visible presence to maximise reach.
We are recruiting a full-time debt adviser to join this project, to work alongside an established and experienced generalist adviser.
Ideally, you will be an experienced money adviser, and able to deliver high quality debt advice and on-going casework to clients. You will be an approved DRO intermediary or be willing to work towards becoming a DRO Intermediary by completing the relevant training. You should also hold the IMA Certificate of Money Advice Practice (CertMAP) or be willing to work towards obtaining this. The CertMAP and DRO Intermediary status are prerequisites to be considered at Senior Level.
