The Rory Peck Trust seeks to empower them with the knowledge, resources and resilience they need to report from some of the most dangerous places in the world, safely and without fear. It provides training, equipping freelancers with potentially lifesaving first aid skills. It offers emergency financial assistance when things go wrong. And it ensures access to mental health therapy, enabling those who have experienced trauma to continue their vital work. The Trust also advocates for freelancers, honouring the world's best independent journalism at the Rory Peck Awards every November.

Over the last three decades it has helped more than 3,300 journalists, providing more than £3 million in financial assistance, every penny donated by the Trust's donors and supporters, drawn largely from UK, European and US media. But thirty years after it was founded, demand for the Trust's services is greater than ever. 2025 was the deadliest ever for members of the media, while near record numbers of journalists are in jail.

• Position: Finance & Operations Manager

The Role

The Finance & Operations Manager is a senior, hands-on leadership role, responsible for ensuring the Trust is financially robust, well-governed, legally compliant and operationally effective.

Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Board of Trustees, the postholder will lead on finance, HR, IT and organisational systems, and act as Secretary to the Board. This role provides the operational backbone that enables the Trust's programmes, partnerships and advocacy work to succeed, and requires confidence, judgement and discretion at board level.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and reporting
• Prepare management accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors
• Support the Board on financial planning, reserves, and organisational risk
• Act as Secretary to the Board, coordinating meetings, papers and governance records
• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission and regulatory requirements
• Lead HR operations, including recruitment, contracts, policies and staff wellbeing
• Oversee IT systems, data protection, insurance, contracts and operational risk
• Drive improvements in systems, processes and organisational efficiency

• Significant experience in a senior finance, operations or business role

As an Admiral Nurse, your role will be pivotal in providing expert nursing support to carers, helping them navigate the complexities of dementia care. You will offer emotional and psychological interventions to alleviate the challenges of caregiving, especially at the early stages of diagnosis or pre-diagnosis, and continue supporting carers through the various stages of dementia, focusing on transitions, loss, and shifting relationships.
Key responsibilities:

- Manage a caseload of clients, including conducting home visits to assess needs and wellbeing
- Develop and implement individual intervention plans
- Empower carers by supporting them to build the skills and confidence needed to care for someone with dementia
- Provide guidance to carers as dementia-related behaviours change over time

About the Role

Citizens Advice, in partnership with The Trussell Trust, have been running the Help through Hardship Helpline (formerly the Trussell Trust Foodbank helpline) for just over a year. The helpline has been highly successful in reaching those clients most in need. To date Citizens Advice has answered nearly 57,000 calls, helped feed over 70,000 people and recorded £13 million in expected financial gains for clients.

The Helpline has been extended to local Citizens Advice offices and we're looking for new advisers to join our team in Liverpool who will provide information and advice on the issues clients are facing, and help them access foodbank vouchers.

The successful candidate will provide generalist advice in a wide range of enquiry areas such as benefits, housing and employment. You will provide telephone advice within the working hours of the service and work with the on-site supervisor to support Clients most in need.

You will have excellent communication skills, be confident, motivated and willing to try new things. We’re not looking for the finished article, if you have the right attitude then we can help to develop your skills.

The Role

As Strategic Development Officer, you will play a key supporting role in advancing our growth strategy across health and social care settings. Working closely with colleagues and partners, you will help to expand our reach across the UK, ensuring our services are available to those that need them.

You will be responsible for preparing and submitting high quality bids and funding proposals, coordinating input from cross functional teams and producing compelling communications materials. Fundraising Manager (Part-time)

We are looking for an experienced and driven Fundraising Manager to play a senior role in growing our income and supporting our mission to improve financial education across the UK.

This role has a strong focus on new business development, particularly across corporate partnerships (all sectors) and trusts and foundations. Alongside developing new funding relationships, you will also be responsible for managing and stewarding existing trusts and foundations, including delivering high-quality funder reporting.

You will be income-focused, proactive and confident building relationships, while also being a collaborative team player who is willing to support existing relationships and wider fundraising activity when needed.

The role is home-based and open to candidates anywhere in the UK, with some travel required for meetings and events.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on new income generation across corporate partnerships and trusts & foundations
• Develop and manage a strong pipeline of new funding opportunities
• Manage relationships with existing trusts and foundations, including reporting
• Write high-quality funding applications, proposals and reports
• Track income, pipelines and forecasts using Salesforce

• Confident using Salesforce (or a similar CRM) for pipeline and reporting

Independent Advocate Requirements:

Strong communication and time management skills to successfully work remotely.

You will bring proven experience of managing a caseload of up to 20 clients, applying the 8 principles of IPS to support individuals to secure and sustain employment through both job search activity and proactive employer engagement. You will work collaboratively with clinical teams, external agencies and employers, contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates employment and mental health support. You will have strong job-sourcing skills, building and maintaining relationships with local employers and wider Pan-London networks to create sustainable opportunities for clients. Highly organised and administratively strong, you will confidently manage documentation, track KPIs and meet performance targets in line with NHS and Hestia protocols. You will take a client-centred approach, providing ongoing support to both clients and employers, including during job starts and long-term sustainment, while offering clear guidance on the impact of work on benefits. You will be self-motivated, adaptable and committed to professional development, able to manage your time effectively across community and clinical settings, maintain professional boundaries, and engage fully in ongoing IPS training and support.
