Reach Charity is a small volunteer-led national charity supporting children born with, or who acquire upper limb differences (ULD) in childhood, for the whole of their lives! Being born with/acquiring an ULD in childhood is rare. Our role in the Reach team is to support our volunteers in every way we can to keep Reach families connected and supported with and by their community as and when they need it for life. Reporting to: Operations Lead
Core purpose of the role:
The Operations & Development Officer will provide high-quality operational, administrative and executive support to the Operations Lead and the wider Reach team.
The role will help ensure the smooth running of Reach’s central operations, including governance support, policy coordination, safeguarding administration, donor stewardship, event delivery, communications and day-to-day organisational support.
The postholder will play an important role in maintaining operational continuity, supporting compliance, strengthening community engagement and helping Reach deliver effectively for adults, children and young people with upper limb difference and their families.
Key responsibilities
1. Governance, compliance and safeguarding
Policy and procedure coordination
Coordinate and maintain a rolling programme of policy and procedure review, liaising with the Operations Lead, trustees and relevant staff or volunteers as required.
Support the updating, formatting, circulation and storage of policies and procedures, ensuring records are accurate and accessible.
Safeguarding support
Subject to appropriate training, support Reach’s safeguarding arrangements and participate in the safeguarding on-call rota.
Provide cover during colleagues planned or unplanned absence, acting in accordance with Reach’s safeguarding policy and escalation procedures.
This may include occasional weekend on-call duties when the Operations Lead is unavailable.
DBS, safeguarding training and appointment requirements
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and the appropriate level of DBS check for the role.
Safeguarding training must be completed before the postholder undertakes safeguarding duties.
Data protection and confidentiality
Handle personal, sensitive and confidential information in accordance with UK GDPR, Reach policies and confidentiality requirements.

2. Donor relations and fundraising administration
Donor stewardship
Provide supportive cover for donor stewardship during colleague absence or holiday, including drafting thank-you communications, updating records and helping maintain positive supporter relationships.
Ensure donor communications are timely, accurate and aligned with Reach’s tone, values and messaging.
Fundraising administration
Support the Operations Lead and wider team with fundraising administration, including funding applications, milestone tracking, data collection and information required for funder reports.
Maintain accurate records of funding activity, deadlines and reporting requirements.
3. Event support and promotion
Event delivery
Support the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of Reach events.
This may include support from initial concept through to on-the-day coordination and post-event follow-up.
Where required, lead agreed elements of event delivery, with appropriate support and oversight.
Event communications and promotion
Promote events and campaigns through digital channels, newsletters, local networks and other appropriate platforms to maximise visibility, attendance, engagement and donations.

Evening and weekend work

Executive assistance
Provide executive and administrative support to the Operations Lead, including diary management, coordination of priorities, management of incoming enquiries and preparation of briefing materials or documentation for meetings.
Work with other members of staff to identify priorities, support workflow and ensure timely follow-up on agreed actions.
Board and trustee support
Provide proactive support for Trustee meetings, including coordinating meeting logistics, preparing and circulating papers, supporting agenda planning and taking clear, accurate minutes.
Help ensure trustees have the information they need to support effective governance and decision-making.
General operations
Support the smooth running of Reach’s day-to-day operations, including responding to enquiries, maintaining records, supporting internal communications and helping ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

About the role

We're looking for someone who not only loves and cares for animals but is also resilient and resourceful in dealing with humans! This is a brand-new position within our Shelter's small team of dedicated staff and volunteers. Everything we do is in service of our mission to Rescue, Love, Repeat, taking in animals who have nowhere else to go, giving them the care they need, and finding them the homes they deserve. You'll report to the Chair of our Fundraising and Promotion Committee and work closely with our Operations Manager, with strategy and support offered throughout. Great support has a substantial impact on small environmental charities and the people they benefit. In this role you will be delivering an established, enjoyable, professional development programme for city farms, community gardens and care farms. You'll focus on training, networking and showcase events. The role involves getting out and about, but most of the work is office work. This role does not include any practical gardening or farming activities.
Hours: Three days a week (22.5 hours). Ideally to include Tuesdays.

Role Overview:

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Digital Product Lead to lead the implementation, rollout and continuous improvement of the Refugee Employment Marketplace and wider digital systems across the Refugee Employment Network.
The Refugee Employment Marketplace is a digital platform connecting displaced people in the UK with jobs, employers and employment support.
Working closely with developers, partners and users, you will help ensure the Marketplace is successfully implemented, accessible, adopted and scaled across Wales and the wider REN network. PURPOSE OF ROLE
Major donors and philanthropists are currently responsible for over a quarter of Caudwell Youth’s annual income – due in part to the generosity of the networks of our founder, John Caudwell.
As Caudwell Youth enters its fourth year, we are seeking a Senior Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships manager to help us expand beyond our strong founder-led base into a sustainable major donor and corporate supporter portfolio.
Proactive and commercially-minded, you will be confident driving and developing all stages of the major donor and corporate supporter stewardship process. Confidence in engaging in new business research, prospecting, initial meetings and pitches is a must, as you will be responsible for growing our small pipeline of supporters and warm prospects into a long-term income stream.
This is essential to Caudwell Youth’s future sustainability, with corporate partnerships and major donor income currently making up 30% of Caudwell Youth’s annual fundraising income (forecast to be around £450,000 this year).
Our ambition is to increase this revenue stream by around 50% to over £800,000 by 2030, in order to support more at-risk young people from across the UK, as set out in our recently launched strategy, Going National.
This is a role for a self-starter who is excited to drive high value growth and be a key part of Caudwell Youth’s upward trajectory, working within a small but dynamic fundraising team. It offers significant opportunity to shape and lead this area of fundraising as it grows.
You will be an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of securing major gifts of four, five and six figure gifts, familiarity with managing corporate partnerships and evidence of growing and developing new pipelines and revenue streams.
You will own a significant portion of this income stream, with responsibility for securing new high-value relationships and growing existing supporters.
