We’re an award-winning charity running local learning centres in the heart of the communities where the young people we support live. Our centres provide a high-impact education programme which includes practical learning support, pastoral care, and motivational and confidence-building activities for young people aged 7-18. Our aim is to enable students from the least advantaged neighbourhoods to realise their ambitions and achieve their wonderful potential.

As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping 56,000 young people each year at its 44 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate who will enjoy working each day with young people and who will thrive in a frontline, community-based, fast-paced and rewarding role. You will be taking up a permanent role as Centre Leader at our IntoUniversity centre in Bridlington. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting  IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery.

A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

Centre Leaders are based at one of our IntoUniversity learning centres and work directly with young people, schools and families on a daily basis. It is therefore not a hybrid role and is based full-time in our centres

The role requires intermittent travel in your region (usually within the day). Periodic travel out of the area is also required e.g. to London, this may include occasional overnight stays. 

Salary

£36,400 per annum.

Our Compassionate Neighbours programme strengthens community support for people who are isolated, nearing the end of life through terminal illness or age, or who would benefit from meaningful social connection. As a Compassionate Neighbour Coordinator, you’ll inspire local people to become a Compassionate Neighbour in their community, match them with those who would benefit from companionship, and support those relationships as they grow.  From selecting, onboarding and getting to know volunteers, to visiting members of the community and matching them with a volunteer, your work with the team will help create a stronger, more connected community across our care area.  You will oversee the continued development of our Compassionate Cafes in the community.

Lifecentre is a charity providing specialist therapeutic services to survivors of rape and sexual abuse. We work from three in-person locations across West Sussex, as well as online and by telephone or email.

We are looking for an experienced therapist, ideally accredited (or working towards accreditation) with BACP, UKCP, BAPT or ACC. Management and safeguarding experience is desirable.

You will be competent in trauma work with people who have experienced rape or sexual abuse and able to demonstrate a solid foundation in delivering three-phase trauma therapy.

We provide:

• Monthly external clinical supervision
• Monthly CPD via Lifecentre team meetings
• Pre-trial therapy training (for successful candidates)
• Support from our Senior Therapists
• IT support
• Development opportunities within Lifecentre’s therapeutic service

We have multiple roles available across our catchment area for a caseload of 10 clients over 2 days, including:

• Chichester, clients aged 12 – 17.
• Worthing, clients aged 12 - 17.

• Online*, clients aged 18+.

These roles are offered on a self-employed basis.

Session fee: £32.48 per 1.5-hour session (60 minutes therapy + 30 minutes admin).

* Applicants for the remote delivery role please note: Although Lifecentre already delivers therapy online successfully, we are exploring opportunities to expand our use of remote-only therapists to sustainably increase our clinical capacity. Applications from therapists based outside of our catchment area are welcome.

The successful candidate will initially be offered a closed caseload of 10 clients. Following completion of this caseload, we will review the arrangement and consider continuation.

Main Purpose Of The Job:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team in a dual-role capacity, supporting two vital services run in partnership with Homeless Oxfordshire and Connection Support. The role covers both our Step Down provision—designed for individuals discharged from hospital under the Discharge to Assess model—and our service at Mawle Court, which provides temporary accommodation and support for people with complex needs, including those preparing for more independent living or in need of emergency provision. Working as part of a small, dynamic, and enthusiastic team, you will be responsible for delivering a safe and supportive environment across both services. You will lead on the case management of clients with complex needs, working collaboratively with partner agencies to develop and implement holistic, individualised support and move-on plans. Main Areas of Responsibility:

• To proactively and dynamically assess, monitor, manage and respond to risk for individuals and in the service.

• To assess risk and suitability of referrals to the service and book new clients in.

• Ensure the effective delivery of high-quality care, support and housing management according to Homeless Oxfordshire policies and procedures.

• To work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure the creation and delivery of holistic wrap around support and risk management plans for clients with complex needs as well as to ensure clients have access to appropriate healthcare as needed.

• To work collaboratively with clients to identify and work towards suitable move on.

• To work with other agencies to provide client centred support & risk management plans for clients with complex needs to identify work towards a suitable move on option within 6 weeks.

• To work alongside the Client Engagement Co-Ordinator to ensure clients have access to opportunities to be empowered, build their confidence and develop independent living skills; to facilitate groups and activities as part of this.

• To make and maintain Housing Benefit claims.

• Ensure that IT systems are updated as required clear, concise and up to date record keeping is maintained and ensure information is shared with the team and external agencies as required.

• To represent Homeless Oxfordshire at interagency meetings, as required.

• Manage challenging situations and report any safeguarding concerns without delay in line with procedures and to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

• Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Based in a specific quadrant of Surrey, the coordinator will plan and lead a repeating schedule of evening youth clubs, weekend socials, and holiday activities which may include residential activities. This role is key to providing regular respite, reducing isolation, and building a strong peer support network for teenage carers.

Person Specification

• Experience working directly with children and young people, particularly those facing challenges or with caring responsibilities.

• Experience of working in or with secondary schools, including understanding school systems and pastoral support structures.

Position: 000007 Engagement Officer

Location: Home-based South West, Hampshire and Isle of Wight. However, extensive travel will be required as part of this role across Hampshire, isle of Wight, BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire and frequent travel across the wider South west locality (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
