Background Information and Purpose of Post

Humanity & Inclusion is aiming for a step-change in our private fundraising and visibility in the UK. Securing quality media coverage and strengthening brand recognition are central to this. Our communications focus on HI’s core brand pillars – disability inclusion, emergency response, physical rehabilitation and humanitarian mine action – underpinned by our values of humanity and inclusion. Alongside working with journalists, we are building our media presence through partnerships and developing our in-house content production.

The main purpose of the post is to:

· Focus on the delivery of HI UK's media and communications strategy, supporting fundraising and brand awareness objectives.

· Secure high-quality coverage in target media through proactive story development, pitching and spokesperson support.

· Produce engaging digital and print content for UK audiences.

· Work collaboratively to support communications campaigns, partnerships and fundraising appeals.

· Monitor, analyse and report on media and communications impact.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Media relations

· Work alongside the Media and Communications Manager to develop and deliver a targeted media and communications strategy that supports fundraising and brand awareness goals.

· Build and maintain relationships with UK and international journalists and producers.

· Proactively identify and pitch story and interview opportunities to secure coverage.

· Draft and distribute press releases, statements and reactive lines, including during breaking news and emergencies.

· Prepare and brief spokespeople for media opportunities and coordinate interviews.

· Facilitate media visits to overseas programmes in coordination with HI Federation and country offices and accompany journalists on visits where required.

· Contribute to applications and pitches for media fundraising appeals and partnerships.

· Work closely with communications colleagues across the HI Federation to amplify key messages and publications and adapt international content for UK media and audiences.

Content production

· Ensure that HI UK's website is well maintained and that static webpages are up to date.

· Regularly create and publish engaging news and stories on the website and social media channels.

· Develop in-house digital content (including blogs, photo stories, infographics and video) for UK audiences

· Lead on the design, layout and copy of HI UK's printed materials, using Adobe InDesign to produce professional, branded assets such as the annual report, banners and leaflets.

· Ensure that all communications reflect HI’s values and standards on consent, safeguarding, and ethical, inclusive storytelling.

Communications

· Actively contribute to HI UK's communications planning and editorial calendar.

· Work collaboratively across HI UK to increase consistency and quality of communications on HI's brand, activities and key campaigns.

· Coordinate with the private fundraising team to maximise HI UK’s brand impact and ensure that communications content strengthens supporter engagement.

· Develop media and communications activities to complement fundraising campaigns, particularly emergency appeals.

· Ensure consistent recognition of HI UK’s key funders and partners across communication channels and branded materials.

· Contribute to the roll-out of HI's global communications campaigns in the UK

· Support HI UK’s participation in public-facing campaigns with external coalitions and partners.

Other responsibilities

· Monitor and report on media coverage, comms campaigns and social media performance.

· Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with all colleagues and partners.

· Manage relationships with relevant suppliers and consultants. 

· Represent the organisation at relevant external events and meetings.

· Keep up to date with, and adhere to, relevant legislation, regulatory procedures, innovation and best practice in the sector.

· Any other activities commensurate with the level of the post, as may be required.

About the role:

Real change rarely happens in a straight line. At our Ashley Road project, you’ll work alongside people who have experienced homelessness, trauma and multiple disadvantage, offering the consistency, practical support and belief that can help them begin moving forward.

As a Project Worker, you’ll hold a caseload and build purposeful, trusting relationships with clients. You’ll complete assessments, develop person-centred support and safety plans, and help people identify goals that feel meaningful and achievable to them. This could include supporting someone to improve their health, address substance use, manage their accommodation, strengthen their daily living skills or reconnect with services and opportunities in their community.

You’ll be there when situations become challenging, responding calmly to risk, safeguarding concerns and periods of crisis while continuing to recognise each person’s strengths and potential. Working closely with colleagues and external partners, you’ll advocate for clients, coordinate joined-up support and help remove the barriers that have previously prevented them from accessing the help they need.

This is a hands-on and varied role where no two days will look the same. Alongside direct support, you’ll contribute to the safe and effective running of the accommodation, maintain clear and accurate records and help create an environment where clients are treated with dignity, respect and hope. You’ll also receive ongoing training, reflective practice and development opportunities to strengthen your skills and build your future career within SHP.

The working rota for this post is Monday - Friday, with no weekend shifts. The rota will consist of a mixture of earlies (8am - 3.30pm) & lates (3pm - 10.30pm).

• You know how to meet people where they are, building trust with people who may be facing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use, trauma or other complex needs.
• You bring patience, creativity and warmth to your work, especially when someone has been let down by services before or needs time to feel safe accepting support.

South East London Mind is launching a new Hearing Voices Group in Southwark, offering a welcoming, peer-led space where people can share experiences, connect with others and develop their own understanding of voices and unusual experiences. The group will be delivered in line with the Hearing Voices Network Charter, creating an environment that is validating, trauma-informed and non-pathologising. 

We are looking for a Hearing Voices Programme Lead and Facilitator to coordinate and deliver this exciting new programme. You will facilitate a weekly group, creating a safe and validating environment where people can explore their experiences on their own terms, supporting participants to develop their own wellbeing strategies, confidence and goals.

The role will lead the programme including building routes into the service through promotion, outreach and community engagement, and developing strong relationships with Community Mental Health Teams and local partners. You will manage referrals and monitoring and manage sessional co-facilitators with lived experience of hearing voices.

This is a unique opportunity to combine facilitation, community engagement, service development and leadership in a role that centres lived experience and peer support.

The Bexley Health & Wellbeing Coaching Service is delivered through a partnership of voluntary and community organisations working together to improve health and wellbeing outcomes across the borough. Bringing together a diverse range of local charities and community organisations, the partnership combines specialist knowledge, trusted community relationships, and local expertise to support residents to live healthier, more independent lives. While coaches will be employed and hosted by individual partner organisations, they will form part of a borough-wide Health & Wellbeing Coaching team.

Hastings Foyer provides medium-high supported accommodation for a total of 47 young people at risk of homelessness, aged 16 to 25, and care experienced young people under the age of 18. The service offers self-contained accommodation with access to shared communal facilities, helping young people build the confidence and skills needed for independent living. Support includes managing finances and budgeting, developing life and employment skills, and maintaining personal wellbeing and self-care.

We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Support Workers and Bank Workers who provide consistent, high-quality support to our residents. We take a trauma-informed and psychologically informed approach, empowering young people to develop essential life skills, identify and achieve personal goals, and build the confidence needed to progress towards independent living and a positive future.

Located just off the seafront, the service is well connected to local amenities and has strong links with the wider community, actively encouraging residents to engage with and contribute to community life.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team, who will hold a caseload of residents and meet with them weekly to build a support plan. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing and Compliance

• Support young people to understand and comply with their occupancy agreements, including coaching them to meet house rules and responsibilities as part of preparing for successful independent living.
• Promote a strong rent‑payment and credit culture, encouraging residents to maintain regular payments and understand their financial obligations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits, and statutory requirements affecting young people, ensuring practice aligns with current housing law and organisational policies.
• Respond promptly and effectively to breaches of agreement, including rent arrears, antisocial behaviour, or property damage, using restorative approaches where appropriate and working collaboratively with the wider team.

Coaching and Engagement

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community.
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries.
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance).

There will be times when lone working will be a requirement for this role, but you will get to know the team and service, along with an induction and training prior to starting on a rota.

• Ability to manage arrears, ASB, and other non‑compliance issues using appropriate and restorative approaches.
• Good knowledge of housing legislation, safeguarding procedures, and compliance requirements, with the ability to maintain clear professional boundaries.
• Familiarity with statutory and voluntary services available to young people and ability to work proactively with a caseload to support progression towards independent living.

Skills and Abilities

• Confident in record‑keeping, including case notes, incident reporting, and health and safety checks.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing for appropriate recording of a resident’s progression, and to evidence outcomes achieved.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including signposting and advocating for clients as necessary.
• Ability to work autonomously, and use own initiative, as well as being part of a team.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, good IT, and keyboard skills.
• Ability to de-escalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour appropriately.

Relocation

Terms

• Permanent full and part-time contract positions for on the basis of 5 days (37h 30m) or 2.5 days (18h 45m) per week.

• The salary band is £26,300 - £27,000 pro rata, depending on experience.

• The annual holiday entitlement is 25 days pro rata plus 8 days bank holiday pro rata.

• The roles are based at Woodlands Central in Clifton and Highgrove Church in Sea Mills, Bristol.

There will be a three-month probationary period with a review point after six weeks. An appraisal will take place to confirm completion of the probationary period and appraisals will take place annually thereafter.

The role

As Youth Advocacy Lead, you will develop and deliver GMYN’s new We Rise project, working alongside care-experienced and separated young people to transform housing and accommodation across Greater Manchester. 

This role is about more than delivering a project. It is an opportunity to help change not just young people's lives but how an organisation listens to them. We are looking for an advocate who believes young people already have the answers; they simply need adults and organisations willing to listen, share power and act. 

The role will combine direct work with young people, advocacy practice, organisational development and systems change. You will introduce and embed a self-advocacy approach across GMYN, supporting young people to understand their rights, build confidence and influence the decisions affecting their lives. 

Alongside this, you will support GMYN colleagues to develop the skills and confidence to make advocacy part of everyday practice; not something that only happens when things go wrong. Working across the organisation, you will help us move from supporting young people for them to achieving change with them. 

You will support young people to lead social action projects, distribute over grants through the We Rise Challenge Fund, influence regional housing reform, develop the creative projects and become the next generation of youth leaders across Greater Manchester. 

This is a real opportunity to build something from the beginning and help create an organisation where advocacy is not an activity – it is simply how we work.

We are looking for a full-time, social media officer to join our team in Chippenham, Wiltshire.  Reporting to the head of comms, you will help to develop WDC’s busy social media activity, advising fundraising, campaigns and policy colleagues on the best ways to grow the number of people who support our work. 

We are looking for someone with proven track record of developing and delivering digital communications plans, experience in the use of social media to support communications, marketing and/or fundraising functions, and a good understanding of digital platforms and social media (especially Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok). 

The role requires solid copywriting skills, an eye for detail, creative thinking, a proactive attitude, commitment, and enthusiasm for the cause.

About the role:

Too many women are lost in the gap between being offered accommodation and feeling safe enough to accept it, trust it and stay. As our new Assertive Outreach and Transitions Worker, you’ll stand alongside women at this critical point, making sure a move away from rough sleeping feels possible, supported and led by their choices.

Working across the streets, community settings and our Women’s Recovery Service, you’ll begin building relationships with women before they move in. You’ll carry out flexible, trauma-informed assessments, help remove barriers to accommodation and provide steady, practical support throughout the transition into the service.

You’ll also hold a small caseload of women who need a more flexible or assertive approach to remain connected, use their bedspace and sustain their accommodation. Whether you’re advocating for access to health or domestic abuse support, responding to safeguarding concerns or bringing partners together around a woman, you’ll balance safety with dignity, choice and voice.

This is a brand new role with real scope to shape how we support women across the Camden Homeless Pathway. Your persistence, creativity and belief in women’s capacity for change will help prevent avoidable evictions, reduce repeat rough sleeping and give women a stronger foundation from which to recover and move forward. At Single Homeless Project (SHP), you’ll be supported through regular supervision, reflective practice and ongoing learning, with opportunities to deepen your knowledge of trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches and develop your career within our services.

**This role is open to women only. This is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the nature of the service and the needs of the women we support.

About you:

• You bring direct experience of supporting women affected by homelessness, rough sleeping and multiple disadvantage, alongside a strong understanding of women-centred practice.
• You know that trust is earned, not expected, and can build meaningful relationships with women whose experiences of trauma, abuse, exploitation or exclusion may make services feel unsafe.
• You can assess and manage risk confidently, respond to safeguarding concerns and make sound decisions without losing sight of each woman’s dignity, choices and voice.
• You’re comfortable working independently across street, community and accommodation settings, while bringing colleagues and partner services together when women need coordinated support.
• You’re persistent, emotionally resilient and creative in your approach, with the organisation needed to manage a caseload and keep clear, timely records.

The Learning Team at The Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, creative person to become a Digital Learning Content Creator, an exciting role making all types of digital content to upskill and empower our staff & volunteers to better support young people.

Your work will contribute to a major employability programme with the ambition to reach 1 million young people, helping colleagues and volunteers develop the skills and knowledge they need to make the greatest possible impact.

This fully funded role runs until 30th September 2027 and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a major employability programme supporting young people across the UK.

You will create content such as videos, animations, screen recordings, infographics, and great-looking documents, translating important concepts into easily understandable explainers. You will help at every stage of the process from scripting and filming through to editing, and your content will be used by thousands of staff and volunteers, enabling them to do their job to the best of their abilities.

This role is perfect for you if you have video-making skills, especially the use of an editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro. If you have experience scripting videos and using other Adobe Apps, then all the better.
