About the role
The Senior Advocate (Practice Lead) provides organisation-wide advocacy practice leadership while maintaining a complex advocacy caseload when required. The postholder manages the operational delivery of the Spot Purchase Advocacy Service and Paid for Advocacy service and provides expert case consultation to all advocates, supports safeguarding practice, allocates spot purchase referrals, mentors advocates, delivers training and contributes to the continuous development and quality assurance of advocacy practice across the organisation. Working under the direction of the Head of Service Delivery, the postholder supports service development, raises awareness of advocacy services and deputises for aspects of the safeguarding lead role when required.
Key responsibilities
Practice Leadership
- Provide expert case-related advice and guidance to advocates across all advocacy services.
- Act as the first point of contact for complex advocacy practice queries.
- Support quality assurance through case audits, reflective discussions and feedback.
- Identify learning needs and contribute to improving advocacy practice across services.
- Support advocacy managers with practice-related issues.
Spot Purchase Service
- Manage the day-to-day operational delivery of the Spot Purchase Advocacy Service.
- Support the Customer Advisors with referral allocation, operational queries and monitoring.

- Monitor referral progression, maintain spreadsheets and ensure contractual timescales are met.

Person Specification
Essential
- Independent Advocacy Qualification in at least one statutory advocacy discipline (e.g. Care Act Advocacy, IMCA or IMHA).
- Significant experience working as an advocate.
- Excellent knowledge of advocacy legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983, Human Rights Act and safeguarding adults.
- Experience supporting or mentoring advocates with casework.
- Experience managing complex advocacy cases.
Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and ability to deputise for the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Excellent organisational, leadership and prioritisation skills.

About the role
The post-holder will provide independent advocacy in various settings, including in the community, people’s homes, and hospital settings including mental health wards. You’ll raise awareness of advocacy, including for people from minority ethnic communities. You’ll work as part of a team of independent advocates, reporting to the Advocacy Service Manager.
You will work as part of the Westminster and RBKC advocacy team. You may also need to carry out your role in other London boroughs.
Under the Health and Social Care Act 2008, the post holder will be required to visit CQC registered care homes and would be subject to government requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advocacy for eligible people under Mental Health Act 2007, the Health and Social Care Act 2012, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and under the Care Act 2014.
- Provide a one-to-one advocacy service for people and undertake case work, evidencing and uploading case notes and data in a timely manner.
- Provide instructed and non-instructed advocacy, where appropriate.
- Provide information, support or signpost clients in order to inform or empower individuals on any issues about their treatment under the relevant legislation.
- Act as duty advocate for our Single Point of Access referral line on a rota basis.
- Meet case-working standards, monitoring system requirements and the goals for our service, making sure everyone needing advocacy is referred into the service in the right way.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The People and Culture (P&C) Director works in a highly matrixed environment with staff from several functions across the global organisation. The postholder manages the HR team in IRC UK and is accountable for effective HR service delivery, HR compliance and continuous improvement within the scope of the People & Culture department, localising the IRC’s global people strategy. This position plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture that aligns with IRC’s values, through exceptional communication skills.
The role jointly reports into the UK Executive Director and Regional Director, P&C Europe – with additional reporting accountabilities to the UK Board’s People and Culture Committee. Working within global frameworks set by Global People & Culture, the role localises the implementation of People & Culture priorities and drives UK-specific change initiatives within IRC UK’s culture and regulatory environment.
As a member of the UK Senior Management Team (SMT), the role is jointly accountable for the delivery of IRC UK’s Strategic Plan, and has responsibility for the effective delivery of P&C priorities. The Director has a keen focus on building leadership competencies and organisational effectiveness.
Success in this role requires the ability to build strong relationships, influence decisions, and navigate multiple stakeholder perspectives to deliver effective people solutions within a matrix environment where accountability is shared.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. P&C Leadership (Advisory, Implementation, and Partnering) (25%)

As a member of the UK Senior Management Team, assume collective accountability for the effective delivery of IRC UK’s Strategic Plan.

Serve as an advisor and thought partner to the Executive Director and fellow SMT members on the UK application of IRC’s Global P&C strategy, and lead on strengthening IRC UK’s kind, inclusive and high-performing organisational culture.

Support talent dialogues, performance conversations, and career development planning for IRC UK staff, embedding a culture of continuous learning.

Partner with peers on workforce planning — including managing workforce adjustments such as staff reductions or scale-up, and organisational design work — in partnership with senior management, the Regional Director P&C Europe, and Global P&C Partners, ensuring compliance with local and global policy while minimising risk and supporting affected staff.

2. Manage HR Service Delivery and Core Operations (~40%)

Manage end-to-end HR service delivery across the employee lifecycle; recruitment, onboarding, contracts, payroll coordination, benefits, performance and leave management, offboarding, and HR information systems, maintaining high-quality, context-specific P&C practices aligned with organisational standards.

Provide leadership on UK employment law and regulation to the UK HR team, ensuring the HR team supports supervisors of UK staff in the management of their teams in a supportive and compliant way.

Provide high quality HR partnership to the Refugee, Asylum and Integration (RAI) UK Director and team to support programme needs and donor requirements.

Advise supervisors on appropriate disciplinary actions, coordinating with Global Employee Relations and Legal on complex or escalated disciplinary proceedings, to ensure fairness and compliance with employment law.

Responsible for P&C reporting for the UK Board of Trustees and People & Culture Committee, and for the annual production of IRC UK's Gender Pay Gap and Ethnicity Pay Gap reports, in line with IRC's global P&C reporting standards and applicable UK statutory requirements.

Support any organisational restructure requirements, including active management of any necessary staff consultation and resulting redundancy processes, by providing expert guidance to management and affected staff throughout the process.

JOB PURPOSE
The Reintegration and Employment Lead (Prisons & Through the Gate) is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality reintegration and employment support across multiple prison establishments and into the community, as well as across our youth projects.
This is a visible operational leadership role, working across a portfolio of prisons to ensure individuals are supported to leave custody with realistic employment opportunities, coordinated Through the Gate support and the practical tools they need to secure and sustain meaningful employment post-release.
The role also supports our youth café projects in South London and Guildford, working alongside Chef Trainers and Youth Support Workers to ensure that young people at risk of offending are supported to progress into further education, employment or training following graduation from the programme.
You will lead and develop a geographically dispersed team of Support and Employment Workers, building strong relationships with prison governors, prison staff, probation, employers and community partners to ensure a consistent, high-quality service across all locations. By providing effective leadership, driving continuous improvement and maintaining the highest professional standards, you will help people build positive futures through education, training and employment, contributing to reduced offending and reoffending and safer communities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
· Provide visible operational leadership across multiple prison establishments and community locations, ensuring a consistent, high-quality employment and reintegration service.

Youth Project Delivery
· Lead the delivery of high-quality support and progression pathways for young people participating in our youth café projects in South London and Guildford.

- Update and accurately maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting timely data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and pupil surveys. About the Role
As Assistant Finance Business Partner (Income), you will support the provision of comprehensive performance analysis of fundraising activities. Responsible for maintaining strong relationships with income generation managers, you will improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on charity performance.
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Management of all aspects of fundraised income reporting including the collation and analysis of high volumes of complex data.
- Contributing to the provision and presentation of high-quality management accounting data, reports and advice relating to Fundraising and associated cost centres, to stakeholders across the sanctuary.
- Contributing to the transition from old to new finance system.
- Management of the integrity of software systems interface between the Donor Database (CRM income processing system) and finance systems ensuring reconciliation processes are maintained effectively, exception reporting is monitored and suitable action taken when necessary.
- Management of the General Ledger and Project Ledger connected with fundraising appeals, ensuring data is accurate, up to date and consistent.
- Contributing to the smooth running of budgeting and forecasting processes and the production of detailed annual budgets, ensuring alignment with financial accounting systems and processes.
About You
You will have:
- Qualified AAT or part qualified CIMA.
- Able to demonstrate competent experience in the analysis, interpretation and reporting of high volumes of complex financial data.
- Extensive experience in a management accounting role, together with a documented CPD track record.
- Experience of working in and development of a computerised accounting system.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel including demonstrable working knowledge of dealing with high volumes of complex data using formulae and pivot tables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to flex and adapt communication to suit a wide range of audiences.
- Able to establish, build and maintain successful collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Head of Estate and Programmes - North to join our North England Team. The Head of Estate and Programmes will lead the Trust’s estate team and related programmes of work in North England. They will take a strategic overview, identifying and shaping new initiatives to ensure that the estate and associated programmes are developed and managed to the highest professional standards and in accordance with the Woodland Trust’s management approach, policies and standards.
The Role:
- Lead the strategic management of the Trust’s woodland estate across the North, ensuring the highest professional standards, regulatory compliance, and delivery of landscape-scale conservation outcomes.
- Shape and deliver major estate-based programmes and projects, working collaboratively across teams and with external partners to achieve the Trust’s strategic objectives.

The Candidate:
- Experienced leader with a proven track record of managing complex estates, large-scale programmes, projects and multidisciplinary teams to deliver ambitious strategic outcomes.
- Strong understanding of woodland, forestry, conservation, land management and the operation of large estates, with knowledge of ancient woodland management highly desirable.
- Commercially and financially astute, with experience managing significant budgets and balancing strategic priorities, operational performance and value for money.
- Confident in leading health, safety, risk management and governance activities within geographically dispersed operational environments.
- Skilled at building influential relationships and strategic partnerships, with the credibility to engage effectively with funders, land managers, public bodies, conservation organisations and other key stakeholders.
- Good understanding of England’s land-use, environmental and forestry policy landscape, particularly across the North, and the ability to translate this into practical outcomes.
- Highly organised and adaptable, with strong project management skills, confidence using MS Office and GIS systems.
- Professionally qualified to HND, degree level or equivalent in forestry, land management or a related discipline, with membership (or working towards membership) of the Institute of Chartered Foresters. Additionally, hold a full valid driving licence.
