We are SafeLives, the UK-wide charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse, for everyone, for good.
We work with organisations across the UK to transform the response to domestic abuse. We want what you would want for your best friend. We listen to survivors, putting their voices at the heart of our thinking. We look at the whole picture for each individual and family to get the right help at the right time to make families everywhere safe and well. And we challenge perpetrators to change, asking ‘why doesn’t he stop?’ rather than ‘why doesn’t she leave?’ This applies whatever the gender of the victim or perpetrator and whatever the nature of their relationship.

Description
You will provide strong and steady leadership for SafeLives’ communications, marketing and public affairs work over the next year, communicating our Whole Picture Strategy, finding what works and helping it happen to end domestic abuse for everyone for good.
You will shape and deliver strategic communications and influencing work to reach decision-makers, strengthen public trust, and support our mission to drive real change in the UK’s domestic abuse response.
You will be able bring to together robust data, the voice of survivors, and the view of practice experts to position SafeLives at the centre of the conversation with professionals, key policy and decision makers and influencers as a credible and trusted voice.
You’ll lead a cross-functional team of comms, marketing and public affairs colleagues to:
You will connect reactive work with long-term strategic priorities, ensuring our external engagement supports our strategic priorities, policy goals, and income generation ambitions. And you will lead high-quality responses to breaking news and emerging issues, providing clear strategic advice to the Senior Leadership Team and acting as a trusted lead on reputational risk.
You will ensure SafeLives is visible, authoritative and survivor-centred in public and policy conversations, with timely responses, briefings and support, ensuring our communications and influencing are clear, consistent and drive impact.
You will work with our training, practice, and fundraising teams to drive our business development and income generation, as well as helping us to understand all our audiences and better meet their needs.
And as part of the Operational Management Team (OMT), you’ll work closely with colleagues to ensure an inclusive and supportive organisational culture, role modelling our values.
Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required.
Responsibilities
1. Leadership

2. Core Narrative, Messaging and Evidence Sharing
·Lead the development of SafeLives’ core messages, ensuring they are used consistently across all teams, and the development of our influencing asks.
·Translate SafeLives’ research, data and evidence into accessible, impactful content for external audiences, including practitioners, policy and decision makers.
·Ensure all outputs are survivor‑centred, values‑aligned and evidence‑led
·Develop our brand to reflect our approach to equity, equality, diversity and inclusion and in line with our values - human, rigorous, brave and inclusive.
·Oversee production of communications, marketing and policy materials that help to amplify our Whole Picture strategy and our related priorities.
3. Communications and Media Leadership
·Lead SafeLives’ overall communications strategy and activity.
·Oversee media relations, with strong focus on clear messaging and reputational resilience.
·Implement rapid-response and crisis‑comms protocols with clear escalation to Directors.
·Lead the development and management of our website, digital channels and content strategy.

The role of Interim Head of Fundraising
This is an exciting interim (9-12 month) opportunity for a strategic and people focused leader to head up our Fundraising team and help drive meaningful change for people affected by digestive conditions.
This role is primarily focused on strengthening and scaling voluntary income and leading our fundraising team and activities. The postholder will also shape the future fundraising operating model and support a smooth transition to a permanent fundraising lead.

Hours & Salary range

The Community Engagement Coordinator will support the development of our partnership network and the delivery of our work in Wales. The Personal Assistant (Diary & Events) works closely with the Bishops, the Bishop's Chaplain & Executive Assistant and the Finance & Associate PA.
The post-holder will need to have (or be able to quickly develop) a thorough knowledge of the many facets of a Bishop's roles, the workings of the Diocese of Liverpool and the Church of England more widely. As well as having excellent organisational, administrative and diary management skills, the post-holder must have the capacity to respond quickly often working independently and calmly to rapidly changing circumstances and effectively manage competing demands.
This role demands initiative, discretion and creativity. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is passionate about the Church's mission, and is confident in managing both strategic and operational responsibilities. It requires someone who is proactive and can organise their work so that they are one step ahead in order to anticipate issues and influence positive outcomes. The post holder will also be an excellent communicator, able to handle difficult conversations and be highly collaborative in order to build highly effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations.
The role will be primarily based at Bishop's Lodge, Woolton Park, Liverpool. There is a requirement to be flexible and, on occasion, to work from the diocesan office at St James' House.
These relationships will be vital as everyone in the bishop's office must have a good awareness of each other's work and the capacity to allocate tasks and support each other's workstreams according to the particular demands. Holidays must be agreed between staff to ensure that the office is well staffed. The PA (Diary & Events) will not normally be away from the Office or on holiday at the same time as the Finance & Associate PA.
Any given day is varied and therefore likely to produce a range of demands both foreseen and unforeseen; the Personal Assistant needs the flexibility and initiative to respond appropriately as and when matters arise. The following are, however, the focal responsibilities of the role:
Diary Management
Working with the Bishop's Chaplain & Executive Assistant, to have overall responsibility to plan, organise and coordinate all elements of the day-to-day diary management for the bishops and the Bishop's Chaplain. This includes but is not limited to:
Administrative and operational support
Lead on planning and delivery of events, both large and small, hosted by or involving the bishops as required and share in welcoming visitors to the Bishop's Office.
Plan, coordinate and manage logistics, invitations, guest communications and event materials, liaising with both internal and external contacts and be the lead contact for such events.
Ensure events reflect the bishops' priorities and are delivered with professionalism and warmth.
Build excellent working relationships with all those with whom the Bishops come into contact by responding to a wide range of enquiries in a warm and friendly manner, either in person or by directing enquirers to the appropriate sources of information.
Establish, maintain and improve ways of working and consistent information flow, including liaising with the bishops' staff, Diocesan Offices, other bishops, external civic contacts, dioceses and clergy nationally; the Bishoprics and Church Commissioners.

In this role, you will provide administrative support to the senior leadership and wider NCOB team which will include acting as the first point on contact on administrative and operational matters including financial and HR related processes. You will also be responsible for updating NCOB’s contact database in Salesforce, maintaining NCOB’s work tracker in order to contribute to smooth organisational delivery and reporting, and ensuring compliance with data protection and risk management matters. You will also provide diary management support to the Director, coordinate meetings on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team and the wider team as needed, and support the Operations Manager in the management of Board and Council meetings.
We are looking for someone with experience of working in administrative roles, with knowledge of office systems and processes. You will have excellent administrative and coordination skills, be a strong communicator and comfortable working with a range of people across multiple workstreams as well as liaising with external stakeholders. You will have excellent organisational and planning skills, be comfortable juggling different tasks and have a problem-solving mindset.
Above all you will be someone who is proactive, willing to 'muck in' when needed and be able to work in a collaborative and inclusive style.

About the roles
These are new roles focused on bringing lived experience into everyday inpatient care.This is a pilot project, hence the one-year contract term.
You will work alongside ward teams to support recovery focused and therapeutic activity. The role is about being present on the ward, building relationships, and contributing to a positive and engaging environment for patients.
You will use your lived experience appropriately to support hope, participation and recovery, while working within clear professional boundaries.
Hours and contracts
We are recruiting a small team of Lived Experience Recovery Workers to work across inpatient settings in West Sussex.
Contracts will be offered flexibly, likely across 4 to 5 roles, with a mix of full time and part time hours.
All roles will be place based, working within a single inpatient setting. There is no requirement to travel between sites.
We welcome applications from people looking to work between 3 and 5 days per week.
Final hours and working patterns will be agreed based on service needs and the strengths of the successful applicants. Our aim is to build a balanced team that provides consistent ward based presence across all sites.
