Ashinaga UK is recruiting a Programme Coordinator (Maternity Cover) to support the delivery of the Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) leadership scholarship programme for African Scholars studying in the UK. As part of a mission-driven global organisation, the coordinator will play a key role in ensuring smooth programme operations, student support, and administrative excellence throughout the annual Scholar cycle. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, and passionate about helping young leaders thrive. The coordinator will work closely with the Programme Manager to streamline processes, support events, maintain essential systems, and strengthen the overall Scholar experience across the year. 

The Ashinaga movement was founded in Japan in the 1960s and has since expanded across the globe, empowering over 120,000 orphaned youth with access to education and support to achieve their full potential. The Ashinaga Africa Initiative was launched 11 years ago with the aim of equipping future leaders for Africa through undergraduate scholarships and leadership development opportunities. Ashinaga UK is proud to be part of this global movement, contributing to the mission of transforming lives and communities through education. Our work is primarily in the UK through collaboration with university partners and donors.  

This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.

Programme Coordinator

• Location: Hybrid. Candidates must be willing to travel regularly for programme activities and team meetings.
• Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday with occasional work on weekends or evenings. 
• Hiring Date: mid to end August 2026 (fixed term 12-month contract, Maternity Cover). 
• Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 dependent on candidate’s experience.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Coordination & Operations 

• Support the end-to-end delivery of Ashinaga UK’s annual programme cycle (including university preparation camps, inductions, monthly calls, workshops, summits, and graduation activities). 
• Deliver administrative logistics, schedules, venues, travel arrangements, and programme communications. 
• Coordinate event speaker invitations, facilitator briefs, and session materials. 
• Track Scholar attendance, progress and compliance across the year. 
• Draft Scholar-facing policies to support effective delivery of the programme. 
• Supporting with university admission processes and student visa applications.

Scholar Support 

• Support Scholars in their academic, personal and professional development through the AAI leadership framework, including check-ins, coaching and progress tracking. 
• Assist in the development, organisation, and delivery of student support programming such as leadership events, workshops, and one-on-one coaching call logistics.
• Support Scholars as they develop their Ashinaga Proposal social impact projects. 

Data & Systems Management 

• Maintain programme records, databases, and reporting tools (including through our Scholar App, CRM, and internal systems). 
• Support line-manager in monitoring programme KPIs and documenting insights. 

Communication 

• Write articles, Scholar profiles, and programme updates for use on the Ashinaga UK website, newsletters, and external reports. 
• Create multimedia content (photos, short videos, social media material) to showcase Scholar stories and impact

About the role 
We are recruiting a Van Peer Coordinator to support our Hepatitis C peer project in the Oxford & Thames Valley area. This role involves driving a van across the region and working with people affected by substance use and hepatitis C. 

Peers use their lived experience to raise awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and help people access testing and treatment. 

About you 
You will: 

• Be confident driving a van and travelling long distances 

• Have experience working with people affected by substance misuse 

• Have lived experience of hepatitis C, or experience supporting someone who has 

• Be reliable, compassionate, and well organised

Project Coordinator (Boys’ Development Team)

As a Project Coordinator you will be responsible for delivering a range of services in primary and secondary schools, supporting FM development and transitional work with boys and young men. The post holder will support the Head of Programme (Boys’ Development Team) with formulating a strategy for developing this work across localities, in line with FM’s vision, mission and values and business plan. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join IRMO as our Youth Project Coordinator and lead the Latin American Youth Forum (LAYF) – IRMO’s youth-led group for migrant and refugee young people aged 13–19.

LAYF offers a safe, supportive and trilingual space (Spanish, Portuguese and English) where young people can overcome barriers and begin to find their feet in the UK. Activities are designed to build confidence, support integration and foster leadership. Through the programme, participants can learn English through fun and engaging ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes, take part in weekly educational, arts-based and themed workshops, and receive one-to-one support through a targeted coaching programme focused on education, volunteering and employment.

Young people also have the opportunity to join the LAYF Youth Steering Group, where they can develop leadership skills and inspire other Spanish and Portuguese-speaking young people, while exploring London and beyond through cultural trips and residentials.

As Youth Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for registering and onboarding new participants, designing and delivering a creative weekly programme of LAYF Space Workshops, and offering one-to-one mentoring to help young people access opportunities and build confidence. You’ll work closely with IRMO’s ESOL and Advice and Advocacy teams to ensure a joined-up and holistic approach.

This is a varied role that requires empathy, creativity and excellent organisational skills. You will play a key part in ensuring all activities are inclusive, engaging and safe, while monitoring progress and capturing the achievements of the young people involved. You’ll also be a positive role model, helping each participant realise their potential and feel empowered in their journey.

LAYF is delivered as part of Building Young Brixton (BYB), a consortium of ten Lambeth-based organisations working together to inspire and empower young people in the borough. Partnership working is central to the LAYF ethos, and the Youth Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with BYB partners to co-create activities, share skills and strengthen impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit and register LAYF participants by assessing individual needs and matching them with appropriate activities

Alive Activities is seeking an experienced, compassionate and community-focused individual to deliver an innovative new programme supporting older people living with both cancer and dementia, particularly within Black Caribbean and South Asian communities.

This exciting new role will lead the delivery of Same Mind, Same Body — a community-led project designed to record cancer care experiences, investigate inequalities, and share findings with stakeholders Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.  You will be working closely with a project coordinator from the Bristol Pakistani Community Welfare Organisation.

Working alongside community organisations, healthcare professionals and people with lived experience, you will help:

• Identify barriers within cancer and dementia care pathways
• Build trusted relationships with underserved communities

Grandmentors Wolverhampton is a well-established and successful project that has been connecting mature volunteers with care experienced young people since 2019. As Project Coordinator, you will lead the core programme while heading up our brand new ‘Through the Gates’ pilot, which provides vital support for young people transitioning from custody back into the community. The Moving Medicine Patients Project Coordinator will support the delivery and coordination of nationally significant, cross-sector programmes aimed at reducing barriers to physical activity for people living with long-term health conditions.

Safe Haven Sussex CIC is a non-profit community interest company providing accommodation and support for vulnerable adults who have been homeless or vulnerably housed. The Seagull Project is a medium-support service providing housing for up to 40 residents across 7 properties in Brighton and Hove. The Seagull Project takes a harm-reduction approach, supporting individuals with a range of complex and multiple support needs, which may include the active use of substances.

The Seagull Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the service and manage a team of Support Coordinators, ensuring a high standard of person-centred and trauma informed support is consistently provided to residents. In addition, the Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the team to manage risk, enabling residents to live safely and are supported to work toward their goals. A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding procedures and risk management is necessary for this role.
