Job Purpose

To lead and embed a consistent, high-quality people experience for the organisation’s volunteer workforce across the full lifecycle.

This role is responsible for ensuring volunteers are recruited, inducted, supported through change, and managed in line with organisational policies, values and strategy, while enabling operational teams to lead volunteers day-to-day within their departments.

The postholder will act as the organisational expert on volunteer lifecycle, ensuring a unified people approach that strengthens capability, retention and culture.

Key Accountabilities

Volunteer Lifecycle

· Own and manage the end-to-end volunteer lifecycle framework.

· Design, maintain and continuously improve volunteer policies, procedures and guidance.

· Ensure volunteer processes mirror staff approaches where appropriate.

· Act as the subject matter expert for volunteer people matters.

Recruitment, Onboarding & Induction

· Support the volunteer recruitment processes.

· Develop recruitment pipelines and partnerships.

· Design and deliver a robust volunteer induction model.

· Support managers through tools, templates and guidance.

Volunteer Training and Development

· Design and oversee a structured volunteer training framework aligned to organisational values, policies and role requirements.

· Work with departments to identify core and role-specific training needs.

· Ensure volunteers have access to appropriate learning resources to enable confidence and effectiveness.

· Embed ongoing development opportunities to support engagement, retention and succession.

· Enable managers to deliver training locally through guidance and best practice.

Cross-Team Collaboration

· Lead people aspects of change impacting volunteers working closely with the Head of Change.

· Collaborate with departments on role design and expectations.

· Upskill managers through guidance and training.

About You — Skills & Experience

• Experience in a People or Volunteer Management with responsibility for volunteer or workforce lifecycle activity
• Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding and development processes and how to create consistent people experiences
• Ability to design and implement policies, frameworks and practical guidance that support managers day-to-day
• Confident working across teams, building relationships and influencing without direct line management responsibility

A key part of your work will be within HR support—helping coordinate recruitment, onboarding new colleagues, maintaining records, and making sure staff feel welcomed and prepared from day one. You’ll also play a vital role in keeping our policies current and meaningful, working closely with the CEO to maintain our review cycle and ensure that information is clear and accessible across the organisation.

Health, safety, environment and fire safety (SHEF) responsibilities form another important strand. You’ll take the lead in maintaining compliance across the organisation, ensuring risk assessments are up to date, first aid provision is well‑stocked, and our premises and equipment remain safe, functional and fit for purpose.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a creative and dynamic person with a proven track record in creating, delivering and managing digital content across social media platforms to develop, implement and manage strategies to grow our online presence and raise our profile.

You’ll have demonstrable experience across a wide range of social media platforms with the ability to craft engaging content to build a rapport with your audience while continuing to uphold our brand and professional values. You will be managing multiple accounts held by the charity.

You will have experience of using third party management tools to create, plan and schedule content, analysing reach and engagement, and using analytical tools to help make informed decisions about our digital marketing strategies. You will regularly report back to the management team feeding into our wider strategy discussions, making recommendations on future campaigns. 

You will be part of a wider communications team, working alongside the PR & Communications Manager, reporting to one of the trustees, fostering an organisation-wide approach working with all colleagues to ensure a planned, structured and collaborative approach to our communications and marketing planning.
As a small charity, flexibility is key to meet the needs of our shifting priorities and in between delivering and managing social media content – your primary focus –  you will additionally support wider marketing activities with creation of digital content to support charity advertising, support the development of our online (web) content and more general activities across the communications team. While there will be some level of existing experience, training will be provided for anything bespoke.

As part of the role, you will help our UK-based volunteers to develop local social media activities and support them as required. This may involve making recommendations in their approach, supporting content creation and upskilling them to gain confidence in using social media.

The role is remote and the successful applicant can work from a location of their choice, making optimum use of video conferencing and online collaboration tools to connect with the wider communications team.

Some UK travel within the role is expected with the charity reimbursing reasonable UK travel costs where agreed up front and on behalf of the charity. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and lead social media execution, from planning through to delivery across multiple accounts and multiple platforms
• Develop content and strategy for new (to IA) and new-to-market platforms
• Develop and deliver relevant content that drives awareness, engagement and conversation in line with IA’s aims and objectives
• Work closely with communications peers, wider staff and volunteers to deliver meaningful campaigns which aligns to IA’s purpose and support model

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL

• Experience in developing and implementing social media strategies and content in a similar role for at least 12 months 
• A thorough working knowledge of a wide range of social media platforms
• Third-party applications to manage social media content across a range of platforms in addition to regular reporting and provision of management information to help the team make informed decisions to support the wider charity’s wider digital marketing strategy. 
• Development of engaging and creative digital content
• Experience in social media moderation
• Working with and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships including our trustees, staff, volunteers and external medical professionals

Interviews will be two-stage for successful candidates. About KCSC

KCSC is the recognised voluntary sector ‘infrastructure’ organisation, also known as a Council for the Voluntary Sector (CVS), for the borough. Our members are voluntary and community groups and organisations serving residents of the borough. At KCSC we support organisations like these through the provision of news, training, advice and information. We also facilitate the voice of the local voluntary and community sector (VCS) and represent the sector at a strategic level.

Main purpose of the role 

• To provide administrative support in the running of KCSC’s office and activities.
• To maintain accurate attendance records on the database and update and maintain membership details.
• To provide administrative support to social prescribing programme My Care My Way using Charity Log.
• Respond to general enquiries from service users and the general public as required.

Events/Training

• Liaise with key national partners, including the Money and Pensions Service (MaPs) and Feeding Britain, and act as a central point of contact for Kensington and Chelsea’s voluntary and community sector (VCS) around financial wellbeing resources.
• Promote access to training, funding and networking opportunities that support organisations working with people at the sharpest end of the cost-of-living crisis.

Support for Health & Wellbeing Programme – My Care My Way

• Manage the NHS Self-Care email inboxes.
• Process all referrals to the Self-Care Programmes via Charity Log in a timely and accurate manner and ensure all appropriate information is received. Liaise with referrers and providers if information is insufficient.
• Act as the key point of contact for referrers and the contracted providers with regards to referrals.
• Provide Charity Log training and support to providers and partners.
• Use data collected on Charity Log to make recommendations on service-delivery changes and payments adjustments and carry out changes once approved.
• Support Project Officers with monthly monitoring when required.

General 

• Promote the role of KCSC and support its overall aims and activities.
• Utilise KCSC’s website and social media as a tool for communication with stakeholders as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Programme Delivery

• Lead the delivery of practical warehouse activity sessions for active participants and taster sessions for potential participants
• Work with the Operations and Volunteer teams to ensure smooth integration of our participants and the programme
• Support the Employability Programme Manager to deliver Employability/Life skills workshops e.g. Interview/Communication skills, CV/Cover letter writing
• Work with the Employability Programme Manager to build an individualised plan and set of goals for each young person

Programme Development

• Work with the Employability Programme Manager and FareChance participants around coproduction opportunities that impact on the delivery, development and evaluation of the programme

• Work with the Operations team to identify ways we can expand FareChance practical sessions to support day-to-day running of the hub and build further transferable skills

Keychange is a Christian charity with over 100 years of experience supporting people facing vulnerability. Today, we provide specialist housing for women and young people experiencing homelessness, alongside residential care for older people across the South and South West of England.

We are now seeking an exceptional Supported Housing Manager (Surrey) to shape and lead our specialist women’s homelessness service at Wayside Community in Reigate. This community is a 19 bed, 24-7 supported housing for women experiencing homelessness. This is a rare opportunity to combine frontline leadership, strategic development, and church and community partnership building in a role with real depth, influence and impact.

• This is a leadership role with both operational and strategic responsibility. You will:
• Provide leadership and line management to the Deputy Manager, Senior Administrator and a skilled team of support workers

A rare opportunity to step into a fully established role with a full handover. We are seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our friendly and supportive team, ideally on the 1 June, for a 12 month (maternity cover) contract. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation to attend our office at least one day a week. The role will focus on account and client relationship management, business development and content management.

The Digital Resource for Carers platform is customisable allowing subscribing organisations to promote their own content to their beneficiaries. Through our comprehensive wrap-around service, we identify carers in the localities we work in and promote the service to them via a series of geotargeted Social Media campaigns. The service delivers additional support to carers via a monthly newsletter and regular online sessions.

The person in this role will be an excellent communicator and experienced in account management. As well as exceptional customer service skills, you’ll have good knowledge of IT packages and good organisational skills.

The Senior Lead - Acquisition & Digital Fundraising role is responsible for delivering Operation Smile UK’s strategic individual giving acquisition programme. This role is key to driving income growth and expanding our supporter base across multiple channels, including digital, DRTV, dialogue fundraising and print.

You will lead the strategy, planning, delivery and evaluation of acquisition campaigns, including the onboarding process, with full accountability for managing significant budgets, agency partnerships and performance metrics. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to an experienced acquisition fundraiser with strong commercial acumen and a data-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Campaign Leadership

• Develop and implement the multi-channel acquisition strategy, aligned with income targets and supporter growth objectives.
• Lead on the planning and delivery of campaigns across direct dialogue, digital, DRTV, and print channels.
• Lead on the planning and delivery of the onboarding process for all new recruits.
• Monitor and report on campaign performance, providing insight-driven recommendations to optimise results.

• Ensure all campaigns meet legal, ethical and data protection requirements (e.g., GDPR, Fundraising Regulator).
• Act as a key contributor to organisational risk assessments relating to income performance and supplier performance.
• Keep up to date with sector trends, innovations and benchmarks to maintain best practice.

• Extensive experience (ideally 5+ years) in Individual Giving or fundraising acquisition roles.
• Proven success delivering multi-channel acquisition campaigns with strong ROI.

Are you an experienced and committed Project Manager? Have you worked in programme delivery for young people in schools or youth settings? Can you communicate confidently to a wide audience and range of stakeholders?

We are seeking a full-time Project Manager to support delivery of our new programme, Reading Reboot, funded by the Charlotte Aitken Trust, and to support the SLA to grow its reach and impact. Reading Reboot is being developed to address the reading crisis and restore a love of reading for young people in Year 8, in communities facing the greatest disadvantage. This is an opportunity to lead a flagship national programme with the potential to shape future investment in school libraries, in a supportive, mission-driven team culture within a small but influential charity. 

The Reading Reboot programme will establish librarian-led social book clubs in over 100 under-funded secondary school libraries across the UK and reach more than 6,000 young people directly, alongside librarians, senior leaders and wider school communities. Reading Reboot places school librarians at the heart of delivery, combining new book stock, inspiring author engagement, appealing library spaces, and a robust evaluation to evidence impact and inform future national roll-out.   

The Project Manager will lead on development and delivery, working closely with the CEO, a Project Board and external evaluation team to ensure the programme meets its objectives on time, within budget and to a high quality. They will recruit and coordinate schools and librarians, work with partners and funders, and ensure that learning and impact are captured and shared across the sector. Building strong relationships with all stakeholders, the Project Manager will be the main point of contact for the programme and will support the CEO and Project Board with timely updates, papers and participation in meetings. Successful candidates will have extensive and demonstrable experience of project management in schools or youth settings. Experience of training development and delivery will be an advantage.
