Senior Communications Officer (short term)

Key responsibilities
The post holder will work closely with the Foundation's Head of Marketing and
Communications and other teams and on the following tasks:

Content creation
 Plan and create content across digital channels, including for the website, video,
social media and newsletter
 Maintain the communications calendar
 Work with consultants, partners and women entrepreneurs to develop video
and written case studies.

Website and digital
 Produce web content, maintaining good SEO practice
 Update and maintain evergreen pages
 Draft, edit and publish blogs and news stories
 Produce and maintain the (roughly) monthly newsletter
 Produce social media content, including graphic and video content
 Monitor and manage our social media platforms, including
community/comment management

Supporting other teams
 Support other teams with content production, funder relationships and
reporting, including:
o Events support — invitations, promotional materials and briefings
o On-site event support — photography, video and branding
o Design and branding support

Systems maintenance and monitoring
 Manage shared mailboxes (website enquiries)
 Maintain comms assets, including videos, photos, logos, email signatures and
templates
 Maintain Dropbox, Canva and other tools
 Maintain consent records
 Maintain digital and media monitoring, analytics and reporting.
 Carry out other reasonable tasks as agreed with the Head of Marketing and
Communications.

The Alex Project is Spectra's specialist sex worker support service. We provide outreach, advocacy, online engagement, community development and research activity with sex workers across London.

As our team continues to grow, we are looking for a compassionate, strategic and community-minded leader to join Spectra's Senior Management Team as our new Head of Sex Worker Support Services.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and develop a well-established service that combines frontline support, community engagement, partnership working and research. You'll work alongside a committed team of staff, volunteers, partners and community members to ensure that sex workers across London can access high-quality, accessible and non-judgemental support.

About the role

The Head of Sex Worker Support Services provides strategic leadership for the Alex Project and is responsible for the overall direction and development of the department.

The role includes:

• Leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team delivering outreach, advocacy, online engagement, research and community development activities.
• Developing partnerships with statutory, voluntary and community organisations across London.
• Supporting staff with complex casework, safeguarding and service development.
• Working with colleagues to secure funding and support sustainable growth.
• Overseeing service monitoring, reporting, quality assurance and learning.

• Contributing to Spectra's wider organisational leadership as a member of the Senior Management Team.

You will have:

• Experience of leading staff, volunteers or services within the voluntary, health or community sector.
• Experience of advice, advocacy, health or education programmes.

• A strong understanding of the diversity of sex worker communities and the barriers many people face when accessing support.

● Manage the referral system to ensure that data is recorded in a timely and accurate manner, and that referrals are processed within expected timeframes.

● Use Eventbrite to manage and promote events.

● Use Mailchimp to write a monthly newsletter for Parents & Carers, and to manage our mailing list.

●      Update our digital notice board with information, and monitor the Parents & Carers private Facebook group.

The Business Development Consultant will be central to increasing the number and quality of businesses working with Unseen to tackle modern slavery. The role involves representing Unseen at events, leading pitches and presentations, developing compelling proposals, and supporting contract negotiations to secure new business and meet revenue targets. This includes warm-calling prospective partners and leading on email outreach campaigns to build a strong, well-qualified pipeline. Success in this role will depend on the individual being highly proactive in uncovering, creating, and driving new opportunities forward.

Ready to lead a service that changes young lives? Youth Concern is looking for an experienced manager to lead our busy Drop-in Centre and support a dedicated team committed to helping young people across Aylesbury Vale. Help us shape our charity’ next chapter as we prepare to move to new premises in 2027. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Drop-in Centre, ensuring that young people receive high-quality, accessible support in a safe and welcoming environment. Working closely with staff, volunteers and partner agencies, you will oversee service delivery, support organisational development and play a key role in our exciting plans to relocate to new premises in 2027. OASIS PARENT AND CARER SUPPORT WORKER

HOURS: Full time, 40 hours per week (flexible hours), inclusive of breaks

In April 2021 we launched the GM Navigators project to support young people impacted by youth violence.  In response to feedback from parents and carers, the PACS project was set up in 2023 to assist Parents and Carers identifying their child as ‘at risk’. Since this the service has gone from strength to strength with Parents and Carers engaging from all 10 GM boroughs.  We have securing funding to continue this project until 2027 with potential for further extensions.

Oasis is recruiting a PAC Support Worker to be part of the PAC Project.   

As a PAC Support Worker you will;

· Support parent and carers that identify their child is “at risk” offering them advice and guidance, practical support and linking them in with services/groups that will provide them with a sustainable support network.

· Help parents and carers to develop projects to raise awareness of the issues they are facing, offering peer support and influence policy and system change. 

· Be trained in Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) and other parenting approaches to support parents and carers to respond to their children’s needs, de-escalate situations and maintain good relationships within their home.

· Delivering our ‘Encounter’ Parenting Training (based on the principles of NVR) online and in-person to groups of parents and host online and in-person support groups for parents and carers.

· Be integral to the shaping and development of the PAC project utilizing the feedback of those you are working with to ensure the project is impactful and meeting parent’s and carers needs as a priority.

• Empower Parents and Carers that want to set up groups or run campaigns to raise awareness of issues they are facing.  Managing resources to support them to turn their ambitions into reality.

The service you will work in….

Nia House is consists of 3 services, Nia House, Coningham and Sulgrave in the North Cluster. We support people with enduring mental health crisis aged 18+ who have housing and support needs. They may be leaving hospital, registered care, be homeless, threatened with homelessness or living in accommodation that is not meeting their identified needs. The services will be also used as a ‘step up' or ‘step down' from other supported accommodation, where appropriate.

A day in this role looks like….

As a Senior Recovery Support workerat Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Mental Health and Complex Needs service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

• Empower a caseload of clients to manage their health and wellbeing, maintain their independence, identify their strengths and achieve their goals and aspirations, working in partnership with our subcontractors as required in order to achieve this, under the direction of the Team Leader. 
• To clearly articulate the aims and objectives, pathway and service model to people using the service so they can fully participate in and co-produce their support.
• Empower service users to engage effectively in their liaisons with professionals within the community such as social work teams, housing providers, health professionals, JCP etc. 
• Work flexibly as part of a team to ensure service coverage and that contractual obligations are met. 
• Develop co-produced group activities, peer support networks and other community-based approaches to empowering service users to achieve their goals and aspirations and to encourage service users to access these opportunities. 
• Actively monitor the health, wellbeing, safety and security of the service and its users ensuring all concerns are followed up promptly and in line with procedures. 
• Ensure that administration is done in good time; that detailed, concise and accurate records are created contemporaneously, and that confidentiality is appropriately maintained.
• Assist the manager to manage health and safety, repairs and maintenance of the premises. 
• To collect rents and service charges, and manage arrears proactively by follow policy, protocol and procedure to support residents to maintain their tenancy and develop independent living skills by paying service charges & rent.

• Ensure referrals, assessments and service reviews are effective and timely responded to. 
• Empower service users to develop independent living skills as part of a planned move on process.

Join Greater Manchester Youth Federation (GMYF) — a long-established charity running vibrant youth centres across Greater Manchester. We’re dedicated to raising aspirations and creating opportunities for young people, especially those facing disadvantage, through exciting activities, outreach, and outdoor adventures. Our approach champions youth voice, inclusion, and building confidence and resilience. We offer outdoor education, including residentials at our own Ormside Mill site in Cumbria and other sites nationwide.

Purpose of Role:

The Youth Work Co-ordinator plays a key role in the day-to-day delivery of high-quality youth work within the centre and the wider community. Working closely with the Centre Manager, the postholder coordinates sessions, leads delivery in practice, and provides guidance and support to youth workers during activities.

This is a hands-on practice leadership role, combining direct youth work with responsibility for session planning, staff co-ordination during delivery, pastoral support, and contribution to residentials and projects. The role supports, but does not replace, the Centre Manager’s accountability for staff line management, safeguarding leadership, and overall centre management.

In the absence of the Centre Manager, the Youth Work Co-ordinator acts as the senior on site lead for day-to-day centre operations and youth work delivery, while not holding line management or strategic authority. This responsibility relates to immediate operational safety and session delivery only, and does not include line management, budgetary authority, or strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Youth Work Delivery and Session Leadership

• Lead and deliver high quality, inclusive, and young person-centred youth work across centre based provision, outreach, streetbased work, community settings, and outdoor activities.
• Co-ordinate day to day youth work delivery, ensuring sessions and activities (on site and off site) are engaging, purposeful, and responsive to young people’s needs.
• Work with the Centre Manager and wider GMYF team to contribute to programme planning, curriculum development, and forecast of events planning including centre based, outreach, and community-based youth work.
• Take a lead role in session planning, recording, and evaluation to ensure learning, participation, and youth voice remain central across all settings.
• Model excellent youth work practice and set clear expectations for delivery during sessions, outreach activity, and community-based work.

Team Co-ordination and In Session Support

• Co-ordinate and support youth workers and volunteers during sessions, providing clear guidance and practical leadership.
• Deliver session-based briefings and debriefings, ensuring staff are clear on expectations, roles, safeguarding responsibilities, and session focus, and that key information, incidents, and outcomes are accurately recorded and handed over when the Centre Manager is not on site.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and reflective support to staff to strengthen practice and confidence.
• Support the Centre Manager with staff development and performance processes through practice-based feedback and reflective support during delivery, where required.

Safety, Safeguarding and Inclusion

• Act as a key operational safeguarding contact on site, supporting the Centre Manager and following GMYF safeguarding procedures.
• Record, report, and escalate safeguarding concerns promptly and accurately.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all young people.
• Provide in-session pastoral support by shaping the environment and staff responses so young people feel safe, included and able to participate, using restorative and de-escalation approaches to support wellbeing and relationships.
• Provide timely, proportionate interventions to de-escalate behaviour and support positive outcomes for young people, modelling restorative and trauma-informed practice during sessions.
• Work with external agencies and partners to support young people’s needs where appropriate.

Centre Operations and Activities Support

• Support the Centre Manager with daily site checks, risk assessments, and health and safety requirements, escalating issues as required.

Our Regulated Activities and Contract Scope

The Care Services Manager will have responsibility across our regulated and associated services, which currently include:

•  Domiciliary care (personal care in people's homes)

We hold contracts and funding arrangements across several commissioners and funders. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring that care and support is delivered in accordance with all relevant contractual and funding requirements.

The Role

The Care Services Manager will hold personal CQC accountability for the quality, safety, and compliance of our regulated services. While this is fundamentally a strategic leadership and governance role, our regulated services are currently at an important stage of development. As such, we are looking for someone who is equally comfortable providing visible, hands-on operational delivery when needed.

Initially, the successful candidate will spend time working closely with the day-to-day operation of the service, building strong relationships with Care Support Workers and the people we support, strengthening systems and processes, and ensuring consistently high standards of care.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in embedding best practice and supporting the continued growth and improvement of the service. As the service develops, the emphasis of the role will increasingly shift towards strategic leadership, quality assurance, governance, service improvement and future development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leading and Managing the Service

• Hold CQC registration and personal accountability for the quality, safety and compliance of all regulated care activities delivered by the organisation.

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership of the care service(s), being genuinely present and accessible to care support workers, coordinators, and senior staff, particularly in the early period of the role.

• Line manages the coordination and care team, providing regular supervision, clear direction, and honest feedback.

2. Quality, Compliance and Safeguarding

• Act as a named safeguarding lead, recognising, reporting, managing, and recording safeguarding concerns across all regulated services.

• Lead a meaningful quality assurance programme, involving audits, spot checks, care plan reviews, complaint analysis, and use findings to drive improvements.

• Submit CQC notifications accurately and on time and ensure the Statement of Purpose and all governance documentation accurately reflects what the service does.

• Monitor care quality through ECM data, visit records, staff feedback and regular engagement with service users and their families, remaining closely connected to the day-to-day service delivery to identify and address emerging issues before they escalate.

• Ensure care and support delivery across all services remains within the scope of relevant contractual and funding arrangements, and that any changes to the service scope, volume or specification are identified and escalated appropriately.

3. Care Planning and Service User Relationships

• Ensure every service user has a current, person-centred care plan that reflects their needs, preferences and risks.

• Oversee and contribute to care assessments and reviews, including involvement in complex cases, multi-agency reviews and situations where a senior presence is needed.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and carers, being accessible, responsive, and honest whether managing concerns or recognising success.

• Ensure that the service user experience and what it actually feels like to be supported by our service is at the centre of how quality is assessed, monitored and improved.

4. Safe Recruitment, Staffing and Workforce

• Ensure all staff are recruited safely and in line with statutory and regulatory requirements, with appropriate DBS checks, references, right-to-work verification, and safer recruitment processes completed before delivering regulated care.

• Manage all aspects of the Skilled Worker visa sponsorship process, including sponsorship applications, compliance monitoring, record keeping, and reporting requirements in line with Home Office regulations.

• Lead on workforce development, identifying training needs, commissioning training, maintaining records, and ensuring all staff are competent for the care they deliver.

• Ensure a regular and effective programme of one-to-one meetings, supervision, probation reviews and annual appraisals is maintained across the service, addressing performance, development, wellbeing, and any concerns in a timely manner.

• Work closely with the Head of Operations (Deputy CEO) reporting on service performance, escalating concerns, contributing to strategic decisions, and supporting the organisation's broader development.

• Contribute to commissioner relationships and contract management, including monitoring reporting, quality submissions and attendance at review meetings.

• Play an active part in shaping how the service develops, bringing operational knowledge and professional judgement to decisions about what the service does, how it is structured and where it grows.

Qualifications

We're looking for a Tenancy Sustainment & Community Progression Coordinator to support people as they make the transition from homelessness into accommodation. They provide practical guidance and motivational support to help people manage their tenancies and settle into a new community. The Coordinator supports housed clients to resolve problems so that repeat homelessness is prevented. They also connect people using Catching Lives’ services to community activities or groups, and enable access to employment, training, education and volunteering opportunities so that people improve their skills, confidence, social connection and well-being.

Key responsibilities

Tenancy Sustainment

• In conjunction with the Manager and Senior Project Worker, assess and prioritise the need for tenancy support on a case-by-case basis.
• Meet people in the day centre before they move into a tenancy.
• Visit clients in their homes and in community locations to provide practical and motivational support to sustain tenancies and prevent repeat homelessness.
• Share practical skills and guidance to support tenants e.g. paying bills, reporting disrepair, choosing furniture etc.
• Help people get to know their neighbourhood e.g. visiting a local café, GP etc.
• Problem-solve with individuals to overcome challenges or concerns.
• Liaise with other agencies e.g. councils, landlords, social services, housing associations, maintenance contractors to help people sustain their tenancies.

Working at Catching Lives

Catching Lives is a community charity, currently staffed by a team of 10. We’re in the process of expanding with current recruitment, so that we can introduce community-based support alongside strengthening our core day centre offer.

The successful candidate will complete a structured induction that includes shadowing colleagues and visiting local services. Staff typically attend weekly team meetings on Wednesday afternoons, as well as having regular 1-1s with their line manager, and there is confidential access to an employee assistance scheme. The day centre offers free tea and coffee throughout the working day. As well as core training for new starters, there are ongoing training and development opportunities.
