About the Spokesperson Network
The Spokesperson Network trains and supports people to speak on television and radio. We are substantially boosting the number of progressive, diverse voices in this space to challenge opposition narratives and boost coverage of underrepresented issues.
The programme works by training, coaching and providing PR booking support for spokespeople from civil society working on social, environmental and economic issues. So far we’ve had over 11,000 high-profile media bookings including Question Time, Newsnight, Good Morning Britain, LBC, Channel 4 News, BBC 5 Live, Today, Sky News and ITV News plus many more.
Purpose of the role
The Press Officer is central to our flagship Spokesperson Network programmes, placing people in broadcast media on a regular basis, developing and maintaining media contacts and meeting the needs of participants on the Spokesperson Network.
Your main day-to-day role will be identifying opportunities for members of our Spokesperson Network, and then coordinating between them and producers to secure TV and radio opportunities for them. You will build relationships with journalists - and increasingly seek our print and digital opportunities too.
Most days will involve spotting opportunities in the news early in the day that would be relevant for the spokespeople we have on our books, checking in with the various spokes to see who is available, formatting pitches to put out on our media list and then fixing up the details when media bids come in to ensure that bookings happens smoothly and effectively.
Requests for the members of the Spokesperson Network happen regularly outside of office hours and during the weekend. Part of this role will involve sharing responsibility to be available to respond to these bookings and fix them up when they happen. You will be recompensed for this with TOIL.
This project is part of a wider Communications Hub in which you’ll play an active role helping to develop the overall strategy and direction of the project.
What you will be doing
Here are the key responsibilities of this role:
Identify relevant stories in the news and subsequently pitch and book spokespeople into broadcast media (television and radio) and respond to media requests.
Train spokespeople to speak in the media and provide media skills training for campaigners and other organisations.
Build new media relationships to widen the range of producers working with the Spokesperson Network
Support spokespeople, taking into consideration the ways in which broadcast media work interacts with people's identities and lived experience.
Work with others in the Comms Team on the development and implementation of effective messaging.
Identifying clippable content, creating clips.
Play an active role in the wider Comms Hub, attending and feeding into key messaging and narrative development.
Play an active part in the whole NEON team, contributing to organisation-wide plans
Who you are:
Experience in journalism, communications or media relations
Experience of building and maintaining relationships with journalists
Proven understanding of anti-oppression work and commitment to tackling all institutional forms of oppression, bigotry and exclusion
Experience working in the economic and social justice campaigning community in any kind of capacity
Excellent writing and editing skills, including an eye for detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and communicating appropriately with different stakeholders
The ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Ability to work well under pressure, at a fast pace, meet the demands of a dynamic organisation and accommodate changing circumstances
Ability to work well in a team and also independently.
An affinity with NEON’s aims and objectives and organisational values of solidarity, generosity and respect
Preferred/Optional
Experience of working with an organisation with a substantial media profile
Experience of coordinating media responses in hostile situations
Experience in working in or with the range of groups that are in the NEON network
Values and behaviours
Personal commitment to NEON’s purpose of building the strength of movements for social, economic and environmental justice
Commitment to eradicating oppression and building connections with marginalised groups
Ability to reflect and learn, including sharing failures and uncertainties. Openly taking feedback from the team and members of the community on your behaviours and work
Commitment to learning how to align your actions with the values of NEON: solidarity, generosity and respect
Growing levels of self-awareness, including an understanding of how your background has shaped the opportunities afforded to you and how you relate to people from different backgrounds
Willingness to develop emotional intelligence, including a growing ability to empathise with and appreciate others, creating opportunities for those you work with to grow and develop
Ability to work across all levels and demonstrate a team-player and ‘can do’ attitude.
About NEON:
NEON is a capacity and infrastructure building organisation that seeks to accelerate the transition to a new economy by building the power of social movements - because without strong social movements we lack the power we need to win. We deliver trainings, develop resources, facilitate collaboration and work in partnership with key movement allies, especially in the climate, housing and migration movements. Our focus is on strengthening the organising, communications and strategy skills of social movement organisations, as well as deepening movement alignment, as we believe these are key to building collective power. As part of our work, we are looking to change the starting point in social movements from “what do we agree on” to “what can we win together?”
We also aim to mirror the change we want to see in social movements in the way we run the organisation internally. To that end, we are committed to building a workplace centred on joy, care and justice, whilst maintaining healthy boundaries of what a workplace is. We do this because it is important to live our values and principles, and because strategically an organisation with a healthy culture and strong foundations ensures we are always one step ahead in the fight for a just and sustainable future.
To build a culture and community that lasts, we organise around three values:
● Solidarity - we’re here to change the system and that requires working together across issues and sectors that aren’t normally in the same room. This means placing anti-oppression at the heart of our work and building the power of people most often affected by injustice to change the leadership of our movements
● Generosity is about sharing our time, resources and learning with one another as we support each other’s work. It means being open and honest with one another, especially when we hit problems, and thinking creatively about how we positively build from there
● Respect is the bottom line for all relationships in NEON. It means being respectful of different backgrounds and life experiences and giving space for all voices to be heard. This often means listening more than we talk and being open to changing ourselves as a result of what we hear.
You can also check out our website for more info on NEON.
How to apply
We don’t want to make this process too complicated so please complete and return the application form attached to the job listing on our website.
We'd also be really grateful if you could complete our Equal Opportunities Monitoring form equally linked on the website. This is optional, anonymous, and separate from your application, so it won't be seen by the shortlisting panel or affect your application in any way.
We know that people from certain backgrounds and identities are often excluded in progressive movements and we’re committed to doing what we can to correct this.
So:
We particularly welcome applications from marginalised groups, especially people of colour and other ethnic minorities, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Disabled people and those who identify as working class or have done so in the past.
We know the work goes way beyond "diversity", it's about making the space inclusive too. So we are continuously working on that at NEON. So far this includes tangible things like a flexible work policy so people have genuine flexibility around where and when they work and a 28 hour week as standard; a gender-neutral parenting/leave policy, an anti-oppression strategy which is held at senior level given how important it is to the organisation. It also includes the day-to-day work of creating psychological safety for everyone at NEON and celebrating the wisdom of black, indigenous, queer, Disabled and other cultures in the way we work and behave
There are no formal education requirements for this role. As long as you can show us you have the skills we don’t mind where you got them from! Also important to us is your potential to learn and grow in the role so even if you don’t have 100% of the skills listed we want to hear from you. If you fancy a chat about the role or have any questions about NEON in general, you can reach out to Matthew Butcher or Molly Fleming via email (on our website). You can request a call back via this email if you prefer.
We will treat the data you provide in your application in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

About Us
Bridges Outcomes Partnerships (BOP) is a not-for-profit social enterprise that works alongside Government, community groups and specialist Delivery partners to design and deliver vital services that support people to improve their lives, in areas ranging from housing and employment to education and health & wellbeing.
The role of BOP spans project development (working with Government and others to design and launch the service), project management (coordinating the delivery phase, managing performance, and liaising with the various stakeholders) and project finance (funding the project until it starts to earn outcomes payments). Our own funding comes from a group of pioneering social investors, including The Office for Civil Society, Big Society Capital, Pilotlight, Trust for London, who, like us, are motivated by improving lives and changing the system for the better.
About the opportunity

You’ll help individuals understand their housing rights and choices, navigate local systems, and build the confidence and skills needed to move forward independently. Together, we aim to not just relieve homelessness, but prevent it, by enabling people to secure lasting solutions that meet their needs.

2. Empowering Through Support and Connection
Build trusting, non-judgemental relationships that respect each individual’s dignity and lived experience.
Support people to access housing options, benefits, and other community services that promote long-term stability.
Encourage and enable self-advocacy, while offering reassurance and guidance throughout the journey.
3. Navigating Systems and Opening Doors
Maintain a strong understanding of local resources across housing, welfare, employment, and wellbeing.
Connect people with the right services at the right time, advocating where needed to remove barriers to access.
Help individuals build the skills and confidence to engage with public services independently.
4. Working Across Charity Partners
Be deployed across different partner organisations within our charity network, responding to local pressures and adapting quickly to diverse environments.
Provide short- to medium-term casework that enhances existing team capacity and ensures continuity of support for people at risk of homelessness.
Maintain high standards of person-centred support regardless of setting or location.
5. Information Sharing and Case Recording
Keep accurate and respectful records of client engagement, plans, and outcomes using agreed systems.
Follow all data protection and confidentiality protocols, contributing to a culture of trust and transparency.
Share insights that support continuous service improvement and learning across partners.
6. Collaboration and Partnership Working
Work constructively with colleagues from across public, voluntary, and community sectors to coordinate holistic support.
Represent the service positively, contributing to shared efforts in preventing and relieving homelessness.
Communicate openly and clearly with internal teams and external partners to align support and improve outcomes.
7. Promoting Inclusion and Long-Term Independence
Support individuals to build resilience and reduce isolation through access to meaningful activities, networks, and learning opportunities.
Champion inclusive, strength-based approaches that support people to regain control and plan for a more secure future.
8. Safety and Wellbeing
Adhere to all organisational health and safety procedures, taking personal responsibility for your own safety and that of others.
Apply safeguarding principles and respond appropriately to risk and concern in community settings.
9. Team Learning and Development
Engage in supervision, reflection, and training opportunities across partner teams.
Share learning and insights from placements to contribute to service development.
Stay open to feedback and committed to your own professional growth and development.

About Us
The Women’s Work Lab C.I.C exists to support mums to (re)start their careers and build the confidence, skills and networks to move forward.
Many of the mums we work with have faced significant barriers to employment. That might be domestic abuse, caring responsibilities, mental health challenges or simply being out of work for a long time. Whatever their story, they arrive with huge potential and our role is to help unlock that.
Our 12-week HIVE programme combines training, connection and work placements, followed by 9 months of ongoing support. The impact is real and lasting not just supporting movement into work, but building confidence, identity and community.
And we get results! Outcomes for participants include new careers, further training and crucially the creation of a vital support network. Over 70 percent of our 2024/25 graduates are either in jobs, training or volunteering.
WWL is now a team of 17 and we’re currently running programmes in Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire and Somerset.
The role
Due to our geographical expansion, we’re looking to hire a Somerset based L&D Specialist. We are excited to be delivering more programmes in Somerset this academic year so this role is specifically for programmes in locations including Bridgwater, Taunton and potetially Street/Yeovil. We will be delivering our core HIVE programmes as well as specialist schools programmes in the area.
You will be responsible for delivering our award-winning training during term time. Between October and early December you will be required to shadow training (twice per week) being delivered in Bridgwater, before delivering yourself from January 2026 onwards.
The training for our HIVE programme and our specialist schools programmes are made up of cohorts of 15-20 Mums and is structured around 2 half days days per week (10am - 1.30pm), during school hours and term time only.
Working with the Learning & Quality Manager and the Programme Manager, you will own the delivery and evaluation of any training, ensuring that the face-to-face element of our programme is delivered in an engaging, innovative and creative way. You will be heavily supported by the Core Support Team in Bristol, with key people travelling to be with you in Somerset for quality and monitoring purposes.
You will take the established programme content (you will not need to design any content), and using your skills in facilitation and coaching and your wider business and/or workplace experience, you will make it your own. Your role will be to bring the basic content to life with personal anecdotes, learnings and insight. You will feel comfortable picking up developed and tested content and bringing your own perspective to each component. The peer support network that develops across cohorts creates a vital support network for our Mums and you will need to confidently facilitate the cohesiveness of these groups.
You will also own the end to end evaluation and feedback of each cohort, and proactively use the output to improve the content and delivery as you go along.
You
You will be Somerset based and have local insight including familiarity with Taunton, Bridgwater and the nearby towns and villages.
You will have a proven track record of delivering training or coaching in a proactive and responsive way. Experience and understanding of employment and recruitment practices is also a really important part of the support we give our Mums.
You will have strong empathy and emotional intelligence and be able to read the room effectively, managing (at times) difficult or challenging conversations sensitively and supportively. Our training is a collaborative experience so you will need to be someone who can be flexible with timings and content to get the best out of any session.
We place a huge emphasis on lived experience in our team and half of our current team are previous WWL participants. We want our team to continue to reflect the communities we support and would encourage and welcome applications from under-represented groups who would like to use their lived experience in a positive way. Programme delivery is term time and school hours only.
*Due to the nature of the work carried out in our training, this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
Remuneration
In line with our usual recruitment and on-boarding for Mum-facing roles, you will need to shadow a programme before delivery begins in January 2026. This initial on-boarding phase will be paid at a freelance rate of £350 p/day (made up of 2 half days per week) which will take place in Bridgwater. There will be a break during the month of November when Mums will be on Careers Month and training is paused.
The PAYE contract would begin in January 2026 - this will be 15 hours/week, term-time only and run until 31st July 2026. Salary would be £35k pa/pro-rata.

Who we are
Every year, thousands of people in the UK face court alone. Often through no choice of their own, people must represent themselves at a moment that could have life-changing outcomes. This includes loss of access to children or homelessness. At the same time, people facing court alone may find themselves up against a party with legal representation. They are instantly at a disadvantage and overwhelmed by the enormity of the challenges they are up against. We supported unrepresented litigants in the civil and family courts in England and Wales over 45,000 times last year.
We provide a safe space with volunteers who listen to each client’s individual story. Last year, over 1000 volunteers helped people to get their thoughts in order, problem-solve and decide next steps, source relevant and reliable legal information, explain complex procedures, complete court forms, and clearly present statements.
At a time when legal support is increasingly limited, we have a vision that no one should have to face court alone.
The role
Support Through Court is establishing a legal advice clinic for money claim matters under £10,000, for a one-year pilot. Advice will be given to clients across the national service network who have been internally triaged to the clinic.
The role involves day-to day management of the clinic and supervising law students as they facilitate client appointments, conduct research and draft letters of advice. Clients will predominantly be supported remotely with occasional in-person appointments and advice “drop-ins” in the local area. You will train and supervise students to help them gain practical legal skills in a clinic setting, having final sign-off of completed letters of advice/oral advice to ensure clients receive an excellent service.
You will embed the legal advice offering of the clinic into the organisation, increasing and developing referrals from our national service network and supporting staff understanding of referral ability.
Who we are looking for
Ambitious, professional, committed and friendly. That describes us. If it also describes you and you have a passion for access to justice, then we’re keen to hear from you.
You will be a qualified solicitor with at least 3 years PQE (ideally 5+) with an active practicing certificate. You will have experience managing students and/or volunteers and a commitment to supporting Litigants in Person.
We are open to applicants wishing to take the role either on a full-time basis, or on a part-time basis as a job share. Please make it clear in your application whether you are applying for a full-time or part-time role.
Interviews will be taking place on a rolling basis as applications are received.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
