South East London Mind’s award-winning Mindful Mums Programme aims to build resilience and prevent pregnant and new mums from developing mental health problems during the perinatal period (pregnancy up to 1 year). This year marks the service’s 10-year anniversary, supporting over 4,000 parents across South East London.

Our peer support volunteers are at the heart of what we do, helping us to deliver weekly wellbeing groups, walking groups and one-to-one befriending for new mothers and birthing people. Their dedication makes a real difference, and we are committed to supporting them every step of the way.

We are seeking a proactive Senior Peer Support Coordinator to lead on the provision of a high-quality peer support volunteer programme for over 50 volunteers. This role is responsible for all aspects of the volunteer life cycle, from marketing and recruitment, delivery of induction training on perinatal mental health and psychoeducational tools used within Mindful Mums, through to reflective supervision, delivering our CPD programme and finding the right role for each volunteer within the service. 

You will work alongside Senior Project Coordinators and the Service Manager to ensure we deliver on our targets, supporting with programming our wellbeing groups and one-to-one befriending. You will be a skilled people manager and effective communicator, responsible for the line management of staff and ensuring the service is represented at stakeholder and partner community events. You will be a confident facilitator, as some group delivery will be expected.

Like us, you will be passionate and knowledgeable about the role of peer support within recovery-focused perinatal mental health and the NHS Competence Framework for Mental Health Peer Support Workers. You will be experienced in supporting volunteers, providing supervision and acting as a mentor in their professional development. You will be highly organised with experience of project management in a target-driven environment.  An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and highly organised is essential for this role.

What will you be doing?

Age UK Croydon’s very successful Personal Safety Project (Falls Prevention) for older people in Croydon is recruiting a new Senior Personal Safety Assessor. If you are an enthusiastic, passionate and organised individual, this could be the role for you.

Our Personal Safety Project (PSP) is a free service which aims to help older people who have fallen or are at risk of falling at home. The service is available to anyone aged 50 and over who lives in the borough of Croydon.

Our trained assessors carry out a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential causes of falls and hazards in the home and can arrange for stair rails, grab handles and other necessary aids and adaptations to be supplied and/or fitted, free of charge. The project can provide ongoing telephone support for up to six weeks to monitor the risk of further falls post engagement.

With a ~£25m budget and ~150 employees we rely on robust systems, a clear strategy and an enabling culture to support people to do great work to achieve our mission. Reporting to the CEO, the director of culture and operations (DCO) will develop our annual priorities and strategy. They will lead on strengthening and further embedding our culture of freedom and responsibility by providing excellent operational leadership across Frontline. To effectively operate a culture of freedom and responsibility we need robust financial controls, excellent governance and strong relationships at our foundation – as DCO you will ensure these foundations are in place – and build on them.

As DOC you will lead on galvanising our leadership group to ensure they have the necessary resources, collective focus and communication channels across teams nationally. Some key responsibilities include:

• People – Lead the people team to identify new and creative ways to further strengthen our culture of freedom and responsibility
• Finance – Manage the head of finance and compliance, supporting them and the finance team to deliver sound financial controls/clear reporting and manage an annual budget of £25m – ensuring financial capability and clear cross-team communication
• Governance – Work with the chair of FARC (and other subcommittees as relevant) to ensure they are taking a strategic view on key issues, providing appropriate challenge and timely decisions (e.g. in budget process).
• Management of external contracts and relationships – Manage the contract governance manager with responsibility for DfE/university contracts and regulatory approval, ensuring effective governance and compliance

Experience in financial management, HR strategy, and operational leadership is essential, while familiarity with charity governance and regulatory compliance would be beneficial.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring volunteers feel valued, well-trained and supported, enabling them to make a meaningful contribution to our hospice and services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Recruiting, inducting and training of volunteers.  
• Main point of contact for volunteers to provide support and guidance
• Matching volunteers to roles that suit their skills, availability and interests
• Maintain accurate records
• Positive relationships with the wider team and stakeholders to promote effective volunteer involvement
• Recognise and celebrate volunteer contributions to encourage engagement and retention
• Gather valuable volunteer feedback and use insights to improve the volunteer programme

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about volunteering and community engagement

• Confident using IT systems, databases, and Microsoft Office
• Able to motivate, support and build positive relationships
• Experience of working with volunteers or co-ordinating people (desirable)

Content Designer, Digital Team.

4 Fixed-term contract roles: 2 contracts of 23 months, 2 contracts of 12 months.

This is an exciting opportunity to join The National Lottery Community Fund as a Content Designer.

You’ll mostly work on content to help people understand and apply for funding. This includes content for our website, as well as for application forms, emails and other guidance. You’ll also have the opportunity to help improve our content and user experience across the whole service.

You'll be part of our Digital team. We’re a multi-disciplinary team, working to user-led design principles. You’ll work with other designers, researchers, developers, and colleagues from the rest of the Fund to design content that meets user needs and reflects our values.

You’ll join a thriving group of designers who love sharing knowledge and experience. We’ll offer you support to widen your design skills, and opportunities to take part in training and communities of practice.
