Health & Wellbeing Lead - Love Barton
Are you a Christian leader passionate about supporting adults to thrive in the face of challenging circumstances?
At Love Barton, our mission is simple: to see people and families in Barton flourish, whatever their circumstances. Together, we're working towards fewer people facing food insecurity and poor mental health, young people with the self-esteem to make good decisions, and parents and carers with the confidence to see their children thrive.
What we do - and why it's great to work here
Barton is a council estate on the outskirts of Oxford with a tough reputation, but we see something different: a community brimming with talent, kindness and resilience. As a Christian charity established in 2022, we work in close partnership with Barton Community Church to tackle the deep-rooted obstacles - poverty, family breakdown, poor mental health, low self-esteem - that stop people here reaching their potential.
We already run a listening service, a twice-weekly emergency foodbank, and a family food pantry, supporting hundreds of adults and children each year. We're a small, close-knit team, and every person who joins us gets to see the direct impact of their work on real lives in the community.
The role and its impact
As Health & Wellbeing Lead, you'll head up an exciting set of projects on the Barton estate - leading volunteers and managing programmes that meet the health and wellbeing needs of the local community. You'll manage and grow our existing services, and work with the Charity Director to spot new opportunities and support fundraising.
Key details
What you'll be working on
This job is for you if...
Essential: there is a genuine occupational requirement for this post to be filled by a practising Christian. You'll also need the right to work in the UK, and the post requires an enhanced DBS check.
Location: Home-based, with monthly team meetings in London, access to workspace at King's College London, occasional travel for meetings, events and visits to University Maths Schools.
Salary: £44,000–£47,000
Hours: Full time or part time (0.8-1.0FTE)
Contract: Permanent
Sector: Education
Help young people with an affinity for mathematics thrive.
We're looking for a Data + Insights Manager to build shared data systems, analyse national data and help a network of schools make better decisions.
This is an opportunity to join a small, ambitious charity at an exciting stage of its development. You'll help schools collect and use data more effectively, develop shared systems that save time and improve practice, and build the insight that helps schools, funders and U-Maths make better decisions.
If you enjoy turning real-world data into practical insight and want your work to have a national impact, we'd love to hear from you.
Why U-Maths?
U-Maths is the national charity for University Maths Schools.
Our vision is that every young person with an affinity for mathematics can thrive and succeed.
Our mission is to advance excellence and equity in mathematics education by strengthening and growing the national network of University Maths Schools.
There are currently nine state-funded University Maths Schools, each established in partnership with a leading university and specialising in mathematics and the mathematical sciences for students aged 16–19. The network continues to grow, with two further schools in Nottingham and Durham due to open.
Together, these schools are helping more young people – particularly those from backgrounds currently under-represented in the mathematical sciences – to access an outstanding mathematics education and progress to ambitious futures.
Why this role?
Schools are stronger when they work together.
By developing shared data systems, high-quality analysis and robust evidence at national level, U-Maths helps every University Maths School understand its work, strengthen its impact and reduce unnecessary duplication.
As our Data + Insights Manager, you'll play a central role in making that happen.
About the role
You'll lead U-Maths' work on data and insight across the network.
You'll help schools collect, manage and use data more effectively, develop and support a shared outreach CRM, produce high-quality reporting for schools and funders, and strengthen the evidence that helps U-Maths understand and improve its impact.
You'll also work with partners such as the Observatory for Mathematical Education to support robust national analysis and benchmarking where specialist expertise is needed.
What you'll be doing
You'll:
About you
You'll enjoy this role if you like making sense of data, improving systems and helping other people use them well.
You might have developed your skills in education, the charity sector, widening participation, evaluation, operations, CRM implementation or another setting where careful use of data matters. We're more interested in the skills, judgement and approach you bring than in where you have gained them.
We're looking for someone who:
Why join us?
You'll be joining a small national team with the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to one of the UK's most successful educational innovations.
We offer:
We're aiming for the successful candidate to start on 1 December 2026, with some flexibility.

WHO WE ARE
We are Zarach, the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty, helping children get a good night's sleep, and the chance to thrive at school.
In our nearly eight years as a registered charity, we’ve captured the hearts and attention of many individuals, community groups, businesses and funders who want to support us on our mission. We’ve also been given an incredible media platform from which we have raised awareness of child bed poverty at local, regional and national levels. This support and awareness has seen us deliver over 17,000 bed bundles to children to date!!
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Zarach is well established in West Yorkshire and Doncaster. We are now continuing to grow across the Yorkshire region, with a launch in Hull, Bridlington and Goole in the coming months. We are looking to recruit two Family Engagement Officers to join our dedicated Yorkshire team. We are recruiting for two separate positions across the region.
One role focuses on maintaining and supporting our successful, established service in West Yorkshire.
The second offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in the growth and development of our vital service as we expand into the East Riding.
As our ideal candidate you will be happy to travel in and around Yorkshire, and be able to travel regularly to meet with the team and to conduct home visits across the region. You will also need to be able to attend our Leeds Warehouse, or other areas when required.
You will be someone who has good experience of the broad range of day-to-day case management, working with external partners, volunteer support, and administrative activities that working in a dynamic charity brings, and someone who enjoys the busyness and variety of this.
Alongside your family support and engagement-related skills and experience, we’ll be looking to see that you have a genuine care for our mission and, as such, are self-motivated to do a great job and be a values-led member of our team.
Ideally, you’ll have experience of working with vulnerable families and managing volunteers in the charity sector, due to some of the specialties that come with this, such as safeguarding and partnership working. But charity experience is not essential if you can demonstrate an appetite and track record for continual learning and development across your working life to date.
WHAT WE OFFER
Starting at £26,000 with progression up to £30,000 p/a (FTE)
28 Days, plus Bank Holidays.
Healthcare Cash Plan
Quarterly Staff Recognition Award
A great working environment! One of our colleagues described us as- “Zarach is a wonderful place to work with the mission at the core of all that we do”
To decide if you’d like to bring your skills and experience to bear in the pursuit of our mission, please have a look at the job description, our website and the coverage of us across social media.
Please note that we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applications. Therefore, we encourage you to submit your CV and cover letter as soon as possible.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
