Job description

Cambridgeshire ACRE is looking to expand its network of Associates – experienced professionals who can help us deliver high-quality consultancy and support services to rural communities across Cambridgeshire.

This new role will enable us to respond to a growing number of consultancy opportunities and deliver services where our small core team does not have capacity. We are looking for people who care about rural life and want to use their skills to make a difference.

What we are offering:

  • Flexible, project-based assignments aligned with your expertise
  • Opportunities to deliver meaningful work that improves outcomes for rural residents
  • A supportive working relationship with a respected local infrastructure organisation
  • Clear expectations, fair pay and straightforward contracting
  • Potential for repeat work and long-term collaboration

We are particularly interested in Associates with experience in:

  • Community engagement and facilitation
  • Climate resilience and sustainability
  • Research and stakeholder consultation
  • Fundraising and grant advice
  • Supporting village halls and community buildings
  • Governance, planning and strategy
  • Health and wellbeing in rural communities

We want to hear from you if you are a confident, self-employed professional with relevant expertise and a commitment to community-based working. You do not need to have worked with Cambridgeshire ACRE before.
