We are currently looking for a Senior Service Manager to oversee safe houses based in Swindon area. This role is a chance to combine your leadership skills, compliance excellence and compassion.

In the role you will:

· Lead and Inspire: Manage and motivate a dedicated team, ensuring they receive high quality supervision, training, and support.

· Champion Safety & Quality: Take ownership of Health & Safety compliance, safeguarding standards, and quality assurance measures including CQC and internal audits.

About the role 

We’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for using sport to help children and young people across our Central Region to explore and respond to the good news of Jesus. 

This unique role combines the benefits of direct face-to-face engagement with young people in a local context, delivering mission through sport activities and programmes, while also developing and mentoring others to expand ministry across Central England. You might have heard of us before if you're one of the 1.5 million+ who have attended one of our Christian holidays or missions over the years, or maybe you're one of the 40,000+ subscribers to have used our brilliant devotionals or been stirred by our exceptional bible resources. We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. As our name describes, the radical power of God's word has always been central to our approach.

We still do all the great stuff with resources and holidays, but in the last few years, we have sharpened our vision with a renewed focus to help the 95% of young people (primary and secondary school age) across the UK who have never stepped foot inside a church, to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus. As our Lead Trainer and Assessor, you will play a key role in equipping professionals across policing, health, social care, housing, education, the specialist domestic abuse sector and beyond with the skills, knowledge and confidence to provide effective responses to domestic abuse. Through the development and delivery of high-quality training programmes, you will help ensure that victims, survivors and their families receive the right support at the right time.

Working closely with colleagues across the Training and Development Team, associate trainers, commissioners and external partners, you will lead on the delivery, assessment and quality assurance of accredited and non-accredited training programmes. You will develop engaging training materials that place lived experience at the heart of learning, support the development of new training offers in response to emerging sector needs, and contribute to SafeLives' reputation as a leader in domestic abuse training and professional development.

We're looking for someone with excellent facilitation, communication and relationship-building skills, alongside strong knowledge of domestic abuse and experience of working with victims, survivors and their families. You'll be confident delivering training to a range of audiences, committed to creating engaging learner experiences, and motivated by the opportunity to improve practice and outcomes for those affected by domestic abuse.

We are looking for a Compliance Assurance Auditor to support the delivery of our Quality Assurance Framework and internal audit schedule across our care homes. In this important role, you will undertake planned, focused and ad hoc assurance activity, helping to provide clear, evidence-based insight into compliance, care quality and safety standards.

As Compliance Assurance Auditor, you will carry out audit, monitoring and reporting activity across care quality, regulatory compliance, health and safety, environmental safety and associated care home systems. You will identify good practice, areas for improvement, themes, trends and emerging risks, supporting our care homes to evidence continuous improvement and maintain safe, effective and compliant services.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across Quality, Operations and SHEQ to support care homes to meet standards, evidence improvements and provide clear assurance through accurate audit reporting.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the quality, safety and effectiveness of care services across RBL. You will play a key part in strengthening assurance, supporting improvement and helping teams deliver consistently high standards for the people we support.

This role is homebased with regular travel to RBL care homes and other locations as required.

You will need:

- A recognised Health and Safety qualification.
- A full driving licence, access to a car and the ability to travel nationally on a regular basis.

About the role 

We’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for using sport to help children and young people across South Wales to explore and respond to the good news of Jesus. 

This unique role combines the benefits of direct face-to-face engagement with young people in a local context, delivering mission through sport activities and programmes, while also developing and mentoring others to expand ministry across South Wales. You might have heard of us before if you're one of the 1.5 million+ who have attended one of our Christian holidays or missions over the years, or maybe you're one of the 40,000+ subscribers to have used our brilliant devotionals or been stirred by our exceptional bible resources. We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. As our name describes, the radical power of God's word has always been central to our approach.

We still do all the great stuff with resources and holidays, but in the last few years, we have sharpened our vision with a renewed focus to help the 95% of young people (primary and secondary school age) across the UK who have never stepped foot inside a church, to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus. We do this through equipping and resourcing the local church, training up volunteers from local churches (we call them ‘Faith Guides’) and collaborating with local and national partners across the UK to connect with children and young people and support them on a journey of exploring faith in a way that is relevant and meaningful.

Despite holding significant commercially viable assets, The Music Works currently generates a very small proportion of its income through traded commercial activity. For the purposes of this engagement, commercial income means earned income from trading only, covering areas such as facility and Music Bus hire, training and consultancy, and similar fee-based services. 

We are looking for someone to do the essential scoping work, to rigorously assess what we have, what the market will bear, and what a realistic commercial development strategy looks like for an organisation of our size, mission and sector context. The output will directly inform our longer-term commercial development activity and provide the foundation for a potential future employed commercial role. 

We are asking someone with deep commercial development expertise to help us understand what is genuinely viable, set out a clear strategic plan, and leave us with the tools and confidence to execute it. 

The engagement will be considered successful when the final report gives the Board and Leadership Team sufficient evidence and clarity to decide which income streams to invest in, at what pace, and whether and when to create an employed commercial role to lead that work.

The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Somerset, Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. Our Mentoring Programme works with those young people in need of some additional individualised support at the end of our other programmes. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part. 

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Programme Manager to support, deliver and manage our outdoor based development programmes. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the key point of contact to organise, deliver and oversee the programme to a group of young people, including managing and supporting activity days and residential adventures throughout the year.

• Recruiting young people to the programme, working in collaboration with our referral partners including schools and other organisations, ensuring all involved have an excellent understanding, relationship and experience with the Youth Adventure Trust.

• Working in partnership with the young people’s families to promote full attendance, effective participation and ensure they have all the information they require. 

• Carrying out direct work with young people to help support their needs and fulfil the Youth Adventure Trust’s aims.

• Providing ongoing feedback to young people, parents, carers and schools.

• Supporting the effective monitoring of the programme and measurement of young people’s developmental outcomes.

• Working with the Mentoring Managers to select and support young people moving on to the Mentoring Programme, and promote take up of the Bursary Programme. 

• Ensuring the highest standards of support, safety and safeguarding across the programme and all aspects of the Youth Adventure Trust’s work.

• Completing the day-to-day administration and management of the programme. This will include maintaining a database, producing written communications and reports, information leaflets, website updates, budget monitoring, booking and negotiating with providers, and an array of detailed record keeping.

• Contributing to organisational planning and development, including supporting the development of further opportunities for young people. 

• Supporting the fundraising team through providing feedback, reports or event support.

You will also;

• Be involved in sector networking and awareness raising on behalf of the Trust.

• Act as an ambassador for the Youth Adventure Trust at all times.

The post is subject to a six months’ probationary period.

The Candidate

To be up to the challenge you’ll need an excellent understanding and a proven track record of relevant experience working with vulnerable young people. You’ll need demonstrable skills at building effective relationships with young people, parents/carers and professional organisations. You’ll need strong influencing and motivational skills; the capacity to get the best out of people and confidently deal with issues and challenges. You’ll be an excellent communicator, planner and problem solver, a strong team player and an exemplary role model. 

We need someone with:- 

• Commitment to safeguarding and dedication to promoting the welfare of young people.

• Relevant experience of managing young people, preferably in activity based and outdoor environments, as well as away from this.

• Experience in working in partnership with other professional organisations and parents/carers.

• Strong leadership and team skills to motivate, support and work alongside a team of volunteers, activity instructors and logistics staff. 

• Self-motivation with the ability to work on their own initiative to plan and manage their workload.

• Strong IT skills including experience of MS Office, web based platforms and databases.

• Excellent administrative skills and a methodical and thorough approach.

• The ability to perform well and problem solve in high-stress and changing situations. Ability to be flexible and dynamic in approach.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A positive attitude, high energy and enthusiasm for the work of the Youth Adventure Trust; an understanding of the positive impact outdoor adventure can have on vulnerable young people, and a desire to help inspire young lives.

In addition:-

• The ability to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends as required is essential - the role includes attending occasional trips staying away from home, and monthly weekend days working on activities. If you are looking for a predictable 9-5 work environment, this won’t be the right fit.

• The role is home-based, located in or with close proximity to Wiltshire and Somerset

• A full current driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required.
