About Chapter One

Chapter One is a small but growing charity, working to ensure that every child has 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme currently supports about 3,500 children a year. It pairs disadvantaged, struggling five to eight-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 180 local and national businesses. The volunteer task is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

We have set ourselves ambitious targets and want to support 3,900 children by 2026/27, so this role, with responsibility for building new corporate partnerships, will be crucial to ensuring that we have sufficient volunteers to achieve this target. 2026 has been designated by the Government as the National Year of Reading, so we have a great opportunity to capitalise on this and secure business commitment for our work!

About the role

Chapter One is seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Business Development Officer to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and take Chapter One into new regions across the UK.

Reporting to our Business Development Manager (BDM), but also working closely with our Corporate Partnerships Team, you’ll help them to deliver our annual volunteer targets. This will involve prospect research and engagement, presentations, networking, pipeline management and lead conversion.

This role within Chapter One is an opportunity for an early career professional or someone looking for a career change to hone their business development and sales skills in a dynamic, fast-growing charity which is flexible and agile. 

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Partner Recruitment

• With support from the BDM, proactively ‘sell’ Chapter One programmes to potential new corporate partners to achieve annual new partner/volunteer targets

• Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other relevant platforms to identify, research and contact potential new corporate partners

• Prepare and tailor communications for prospective new partners, including research on their CSR/social value strategy and its alignment with Chapter One’s mission and regional presence

• Ensure the prospective new partner pipeline is proactively managed on our Salesforce CRM and work with the BDM to automate the pipeline process where appropriate.

• Identify opportunities for regional expansion and support the BDM to secure commitments in line with launch timetables

• Identify opportunities for expansion in specific sectors or in relation to specific initiatives.

• Post on LinkedIn and develop a network of CSR and Social Value managers and relevant organisations

• Research relevant intermediaries, local authorities and groups with which Chapter One could build ‘broker’ relationships

• Keep up to date with developments in CSR/ESG/Social Value and employer-led volunteering

• Research relevant events and conferences that Chapter One team could attend to network and/or speak

• Ensure Chapter One information on external volunteering and matchmaking platforms is kept up-to-date

Account Management

• Lead the account management of a portfolio of corporate partners (approx. 10–15), delivering against retention, growth, and income targets through regular reviews and proactive relationship building.

• Plan and deliver partnership meetings, volunteer recruitment sessions, and tailored communications aligned to each partner’s CSR strategy and Chapter One’s mission.

• Collaborate with the Corporate Partnerships Team and internal teams to produce high-quality reports, pitches, onboarding experiences, and promotional materials for partners and volunteers.

• Ensure accurate partner administration, including CRM record-keeping (Salesforce), invoicing coordination, and general account management processes.

General

• Oversee, maintain and develop business development processes, including use of Salesforce CRM and exchange of information with the Corporate Partnerships Team

• Conduct administrative duties as required to support the Business Development Manager

• Attend online and in person meetings, conferences and events to represent Chapter One, talk about its work and recruit partners.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and qualified immigration advisor to oversee the strategic direction of our casework and systemic work for the coming year.

The Unity Project (TUP) supports people who are facing poverty and homelessness because their immigration status allows them ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF).  We believe NRPF should not exist and we are working to end it. Until then, we seek to minimise its impact by supporting people to make the ‘change of conditions’ (CoC) application to access public funds. As part of this work, we continually develop new casework approaches to make CoCs more accessible to more people. By taking a strategic approach to our casework, we have opened up new routes for people to move through the process, and achieved greater recognition of groups with particular needs. We have also supported numerous strategic legal challenges which have prompted significant changes to the immigration rules and guidance related to CoCs. 

In this cover role, you will lead The Unity Project’s strategic work to improve the accessibility of the CoC process. You will be responsive to changes in the external context and identify strategic priorities to focus on in our casework. You will hold our strategic external relationships, in particular with law firms, advice agencies and Home Office representatives, and you will oversee our strategic litigation support.  You will share our expertise with the sector through second-tier advice, training workshops and peer support forums.  Our strategic work is rooted in direct casework, and so this will also be part of your role. You will be responsible for TUP’s casework provision for applicants who submit their own CoC applications independently, and you will support with other strategically significant cases as required.

The Opportunity   

As a key team member within our Partnerships and Income Development team, you will play a vital role in supporting the management and growth of our corporate partnerships, with a focus on partnerships that enable and enhance our Aspiring Professionals Programme.

1. Account Management: 

• Ownership and management of the direction, growth and success of key strategic partnerships with Freshfields and Linklaters, providing excellent stewardship and effective communications to ensure long-term and mutually beneficial relationships.
• Manage, renew and develop a select portfolio of smaller existing partnerships in the legal sector, identifying new opportunities to deliver greater impact and income growth.
• Support internal account management structure across corporate programme partnerships, ensuring relationship management and programme delivery is delivered to a high standard, processes are consistently upheld, and partnerships are renewed where required.

2. Stewardship and Reporting: 

• Track deadlines, deliverables and reporting requirements for own portfolio of corporate partnerships.
• Create reports, updates and support with the creation of case studies to demonstrate the value and impact of partnerships.
• Find creative ways to share updates and engage partners with our mission and work

We’re seeking a pragmatic, hands-on Cyber Security Analyst to help mature our security function.

This role will work closely with our outsourced SOC provider and internal teams to triage and investigate security events, support supplier security assurance, provide risk-based advice across the organisation, and drive automation of security processes and tooling. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, working across teams, and improving how security is delivered in a complex, mission-driven organisation.

The ELHAP Volunteer and Community Events Officer will play a pivotal role in enabling ELHAP to achieve its goals - helping us to reach more supporters and raise vital funds through volunteering partnerships and community fundraising events. Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the Volunteer and Community Events Officer will be the driving force behind volunteer recruitment, ensuring ELHAP has a thriving network of passionate, well-supported volunteers who feel valued and are making meaningful contributions to our mission. You'll manage the complete volunteer journey - from attraction and onboarding through to retention and recognition - creating rewarding experiences that keep volunteers engaged and motivated.

Global Accountant

We are seeking a Global Accountant to join our global Finance team. This role supports finance, accounting and compliance across multiple international entities and plays a key part in ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and regulatory compliance in a complex, mission driven organization.

This is a hands on role for an experienced accountant who is comfortable working across jurisdictions, managing intercompany activity, supporting VAT accounting, and contributing to grants financial management.

What You Will Do

• Support month end and year end close across multiple entities
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules
• Assist with reporting under multiple accounting frameworks, including local GAAP and US GAAP or IFRS
• Manage intercompany billing, reconciliations, and settlements across global entities
• Prepare and review VAT calculations and support VAT compliance across European jurisdictions
• Support grants accounting, including tracking restricted funding, preparing financial reports for funders, and ensuring alignment between grant budgets and actuals

What You Bring

Role Summary

Our fast-growing team at ProVeg UK has ambitious targets for the coming years, and we need innovative, entrepreneurial thinkers to help us reach them for 2026 and beyond. 

The primary focus of this role is to establish and lead our UK mid-major level (HNWI) donor function alongside our Co-Executive Director. We have a successful track record with Trusts and Foundations (T&F) and are now looking to cultivate a diverse portfolio of funders who are accelerating the transition to a sustainable food system, tackling climate change, and ensuring the food we eat is good for all. You will be the architect of this new HNWI income stream - researching, qualifying, and securing transformational gifts from scratch.

While philanthropy experience is essential for this role, you will also collaborate with our Development Manager to oversee our established T&F portfolio. We are predominantly seeking strong philanthropy specialists and are happy to provide training on grant applications where needed.

This is a pivotal role for someone looking to lead on a high-impact fundraising strategy and help secure the vital resources needed for our continued success. 

You will be a champion for our mission, able to think creatively about how to attract interest across sectors and translate the impact of our work to speak to a range of audiences.

Responsibilities

• Establish the HNWI Pipeline by leading the proactive research and identification of new UK-based major donors. You will manage the full prospect lifecycle, from cold outreach and initial "discovery" meetings to the final ask and bespoke stewardship.

• Conceptualise, launch, and manage a new donor circle (e.g., an 'Impact Club') to create a structured engagement programme for mid to high-level supporters alongside the Co-Executive Director.

• Co-develop a creative 3-year fundraising strategy and set actionable annual and quarterly objectives.

• Plan, facilitate, and manage events, including the coordination and delivery of roundtable discussions or multi-participant meetings, ensuring effective engagement, smooth logistics, and clear outcomes.

• Create compelling, tailored cases for support and impact reports that translate ProVeg’s data into visionary narratives that resonate with wealthy philanthropists.

• Brief and support the Co-Executive Directors and Trustees for high-level meetings, ensuring they are positioned effectively to close significant gifts.

• Maintain accurate and timely records of all donor interactions, communications, and commitments within our HubSpot system, which we use to manage and track our relationship pipelines and fundraising progress.

• Collaborate with the Development Manager to maintain our existing T&F relationships, ensuring high-quality grant applications, reporting, and compliance are met. 

• Travel in and around London and other major cities in the UK to network with potential donors and represent the organisation
   

Qualifications

Essential:

• You bring 3+ years of philanthropy/fundraising experience, ideally within an NGO or a related field.

• You possess demonstrable experience in identifying and opening doors to new HNWI prospects rather than just managing an inherited portfolio.

• You are a skilled verbal communicator with the ability to lead virtual and in-person meetings with gravitas, communicating ProVeg UKs work with donors and partners in inspiring, creative, and persuasive ways.

• You possess excellent written communication skills to write inspiring, persuasive content.

• You bring an entrepreneurial mindset, and can think creatively to find new solutions to challenges. 

• You are a competent project manager, able to meet deadlines and manage a varied and fast-paced workload. 

• You display the ability to network effectively and represent ProVeg with a wide range of stakeholders, nurturing and cultivating relationships into long-term, mutually-beneficial partnerships. 

• You have a genuine passion for ProVeg’s mission and the ability to travel within the UK for donor engagement.

• You are able and willing to travel within the UK and represent the organisation at donor meetings and other related events

Preferred:

• You possess knowledge of the plant-based food sector or environmental philanthropy.

• You have acquired solid experience using HubSpot (or a similar CRM) for pipeline management.

By collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation and our trusted partners, you’ll be bold in delivering an impactful stewardship programme that nurtures our supporters’ consideration and creates new opportunities for them to feel valued. You’ll take an equitable approach in sharing stories of people experiencing homelessness, to deepen our supporters’ engagement and bring them closer to our mission.

About you

We’re looking for an organised project-manager and ideally someone with experience of delivering communications to a mass audience and/or more tailored stewardship. You’ll be an excellent communicator, online and in print, and be comfortable having tactful conversations with our supporters.

We are a dynamic team that delivers results and we’re entering a crucial planning phase for Crisis. So we’re looking for someone who can learn quickly and happy to get involved with multiple projects straight away. To be successful in this role you will:

• be an effective project-manager, adept at engaging and influencing stakeholders and fostering collaboration to achieve objectives
