The Southeast Coast and London team provides a crucial link between Diabetes UK and the community.   We work to improve outcomes and access to diabetes care, empower people to live better and more confident lives with diabetes and engage with diverse communities across the region to provide support and information.

The Regional Support Officer ensures the efficient operation of the regional team, supporting day to day administration and related internal and external services.  You will also be the first point of contact in the region and will provide excellent customer care in providing support and information for people living with, and affected by diabetes.

Working with farmers, landowners, local residents, businesses, volunteers, conservation partners and Freshwater Habitats Trust colleagues, you’ll build trusted relationships and lead engagement and citizen science across the River Irfon catchment. Your work will help local people take part in an ambitious, connected approach to freshwater biodiversity conservation.

You’ll help drive the scheme by:

· Building and maintaining constructive relationships with farmers, landowners, local residents and businesses

· Planning and running quarterly engagement activities for the farming and landowning community

· Coordinating citizen science projects, including water-quality, invasive non-native plant and endangered wetland plant surveys

· Recruiting, supporting and motivating volunteers to take part in freshwater and wetland conservation

· Helping local people access, enjoy and understand important but often overlooked wetland habitats

· Creating project stories and information for the Freshwater Habitats Trust website, media and wider communications

· Keeping accurate time, volunteer and financial records, and supporting delivery on schedule and within budget

We need someone who brings:

· Experience of working with and motivating community groups and volunteers, including people experiencing economic, health or wellbeing disadvantages

· Confidence communicating nature-conservation ideas to non-specialist audiences

· An interest in freshwater and wetland ecology, ideally with knowledge of freshwater habitat management

· Strong stakeholder, organisational and time-management skills

· A relevant degree or equivalent qualification, ideally at 2:1 level or above, confident use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and a full current driving licence

· A friendly, professional and flexible approach, with close attention to detail

· Knowledge of the Welsh language is desirable; experience of citizen science or GIS would also be an advantage

Role Mission 

To develop and own a best-in-class supporter experience, one that makes every person who chooses to support Scotty’s feel valued and as though they are on the journey with us, not simply funding it. 

You will own the end-to-end individual supporter journey, whether that is a one-off fundraiser or an ongoing donation.  Using insight, the latest technology, and continuous improvement of our processes, you will create experiences that can scale as we grow yet remain personal, and unmistakably Scotty's. You will work with Supporter Care to champion supporter stewardship, fundraising journeys, donation experiences, insight and fundraising technology. 

Community is one of Scotty's three core fundraising streams, alongside Corporate and Grants, each owned by a dedicated lead within a team supported by the Head of Fundraising. You will own the community income budget and be responsible for protecting and growing it sustainably over time. But income is a consequence of doing the experience well. Many of Scotty's biggest supporters (individuals and corporate) began as individual donors or fundraisers; how we make people feel today shapes what they become tomorrow. 

Before we look at ways to proactively grow our community income we need the right foundations in place – that’s the primary goal for this role over the next 12-18 months. 

What you’ll be responsible for: 

Supporter Experience. 

• Own the end-to-end supporter journey.  From someone’s first interaction with Scotty’s right through to a long-term relationship, creating a distinctive Scotty’s experience that works for one person as well as it does for 1,000 people. 

• Own the donation experience across all channels and technology e.g. online, mobile, in-person activities, ensuring it’s slick, safe, and easy. 

• Own the stewardship framework.  How do we live our core value of ‘everyone a supporter, every supporter a VIP’ in a manageable and scalable way? How we do recognise and thank supporters, how do we communicate the impact of their support? 

• Own how we track supporter feedback to shape the continuous improvement of our journeys. 

Systems and Processes. 

• Own the CRM (we currently use Salesforce) and all fundraising tech with support from tech team members and agents.  What does great look like, and how do we get there? 

• Own the data.  Use data to help us prioritise and make decisions – we’ve got limited resource, so we need to deploy it in the right places. 

• Own where automation and AI can help us scale whilst maintaining our values and without losing the personal touch. 

Leadership. 

• Support our Supporter Care role, helping them to develop and understand what great supporter experience looks like. 

• Own the community income budget.  Work with the Head of Fundraising to ensure we work towards both our income and expenses targets, whilst ensuring we are reporting and forecasting accurately on a regular basis. 

• Own the annual community fundraising plan and any associated OKRs.  Taking the charity’s strategy and annual priorities and translating that into aligned and focused quarterly, weekly and daily priorities. 

• Own compliance across our community fundraising activities.  Ensuring that all activity is legal and safe and that we work towards best-in-class processes. 

What does success look like: 

3 months… 

• Onboarding.  Completed four weeks of ring-fenced onboarding to ensure understanding of the Scotty’s World (history, brand, values and behaviours, and your role within it), the Military Community, and Military-Connected Bereavement. 

• Mapped the ‘as-is’.  You’ve mapped the current end-to-end supporter journeys and can present them visually to the wider team.  You’ve identified what works and what isn’t working. 

• Established the baseline.  You’ve identified and put in place clear measures to understand how good our supporter experiences are and audited existing data. 

• Plan ready.  You’ve got a plan with specific priorities, agreed with the Head of Fundraising and SLT ready to move forward with. 

6 months… 

• Refreshed stewardship framework in place.  How we recognise and communicate with supporters has been designed, agreed and implemented. 

• Donation experience is slicker.  Short-term priority fixes are in place across all channels making it easier for supporters to donate when they want to. 

• Our supporter care processes levelled up.  We’ve agreed new standards, documented processes, and set success measures.

• Supporter feedback is live.  We’re tracking real supporter feedback, analysing it and sharing with the wider team. 

• Identified longer-term tech improvements and implemented short-term fixes across Salesforce, website and other apps. 

• Taken full ownership of the community fundraising stream, including budget, forecasting and reporting. 

• Demonstrated measurable progress. Against baseline in satisfaction, retention and donation values. 

9 months… 

• A distinctive Scotty’s supporter experience is embedded.  Every supporter and team member can clearly recognise the experience which is delivering a consistent journey for all supporters no matter what their entry point. 

• A clear evidence-based picture of our supporters.  You’re able to present a clear evidence-led view of our supporter base (who they are, what motivates them to support, what is working and what isn’t). 

• Stable foundations.  We’ve set the foundations for future growth and are confident we can begin scaling without a negative effect on the experiences built. 

• Demonstrated measurable progress. We have stable or growing income with improvements against benchmarks for supporter satisfaction, retention and donation value. 

• Year two is scoped.  Future improvements to the experience are planned alongside the gradual introduction of more proactive opportunities to sustainably grow income in 2028 and beyond. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed 

Essential 

• Experience growing supporter, donor, customer or community journeys - improving engagement, retention and long-term value. 

• Strong understanding of individual giving, community fundraising, supporter care or a similar income-generating area. 

• Experience owning a supporter income stream, including planning, forecasting and monitoring performance. 

• Experience owning data, insight and CRM systems to establish benchmarks, and execute on action to improve supporter journeys, stewardship and results.  

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills internally and externally, with the ability to create scalable, excellent supporter experiences.

Brief role description:

We are looking for a Risk, Insurance and Compliance Officer to join our Legal and Governance team and play an important role in supporting parkrun’s approach to risk, insurance and compliance.

The role will have lead responsibility for managing parkrun’s insurance portfolio, including working with brokers, insurers and other advisers, overseeing renewals and claims, ensuring appropriate cover is maintained, and providing advice and guidance on insurance and related risk matters.

Alongside this, the role will support the development and embedding of parkrun’s approach to risk management, working with teams to establish practical and proportionate processes and controls. The role will also provide broader compliance support to the Legal and Governance team, including policies, processes and relevant areas of organisational risk such as information security, cyber security and data protection.

This is a varied role for someone with practical experience in insurance and risk, excellent communication skills and the ability to work confidently across a broad range of compliance matters. You will be expected to take ownership of your areas of responsibility, work collaboratively across the organisation and provide practical, proportionate advice.

Main responsibilities:

Insurance

• Take lead responsibility for managing parkrun’s insurance portfolio, ensuring appropriate cover is maintained and effectively administered.

Essential experience requirements:

National Services Practice and Development Manager

The Suzy Lamplugh Trust was established in memory of Suzy Lamplugh, a young estate agent who tragically disappeared while at work in 1986 and was later declared deceased in 1993. Created to honour Suzy’s legacy, the Trust aims to empower individuals and organisations to take a stand against abuse, aggression, and violence in all forms, supporting safety in both personal and professional lives 

Role overview: 

As the National Services Practice and Development Manager, you will provide operational leadership for the effective delivery of the National Stalking Helpline and National Advocacy Service.  This includes managing a dedicated team of advocates, sessional staff, and volunteers, while ensuring a high standard of service delivery that prioritises victim safety, empowerment and support.

You will play a key role in overseeing data management and reporting, developing and delivering training, and acting as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.  You will also support cross-functional collaboration with commercial and policy teams, contribute to strategic initiatives, and maintain compliance with safeguarding and data protection standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced charity operations and finance professional to join as our inaugural Operations and Finance Manager. As we continue to grow our impact, we are seeking an exceptional Operations and Finance Manager to work closely with the Chief Executive and Executive Chair to help strengthen our operations and oversee our finances. This is a role combining strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery. You will, support our Chief Executive and Executive Chair to develop and implement organisational strategy while ensuring our people, systems, governance and finances support the effective delivery of our mission. You will join a close-knit team that punches above its weight, with real influence on policy affecting millions of babies worldwide. The Sanctuary (Crisis Café) is a service for all residents experiencing emotional distress. The café is weekdays during the evening and at weekends in the afternoon. We provide initial support meetings both face to face and via the telephone, workign with clients to resolve immediate distress, and explore coping mechanisms. We then coproduce support plans with clients and offer 121’s, counselling, peer support groups and workshops as well as a social place to be.  

The support worker will be experienced in working with people in distress or who have mental health issues, highly organised and have excellent people skills.  A minimum of 3 shifts per week is required.

The service is open 7 days a week:

4.30-10pm Monday – Friday and 12 – 6pm Saturday and Sunday (Barnet)

5-10pm Monday – Friday and 12 – 5pm Saturday and Sunday (Enfield)

The purpose of this Children in Need funded role is to work closely with our established Youth Advisory Board to ensure that the voices of young people affected by PANS and PANDAS are heard, valued, and reflected in our work. The successful applicant will support the Youth Advisory Board in identifying, developing, and delivering youth-led projects that align with their priorities and lived experiences.

Current Youth Board priorities include:

• Influencing decision makers and key stakeholders such as MPs, health care professionals and school staff to shift attitudes and increase understanding of PANS and PANDAS
• Raising public awareness of PANS and PANDAS through campaigns and merchandise
• Informing PANS and PANDAS research to ensure their experiences are represented
• Creating more avenues for peer support

We require the successful candidate to have relevant qualifications and a minimum of two years' experience working directly in youth voice, participation or youth leadership.

As Proposition Development Manager, you will lead the creation of compelling fundraising narrative, donor propositions and communications that engage high-value supporters and help secure transformational support. 

This is a strategic and hands-on role for someone who enjoys turning complex information into powerful fundraising narratives. 

Your experience 
We are very open to hearing from a range of candidates with different backgrounds. You may be: 

• A trusts fundraising professional with strong writing skills who enjoys shaping propositions, funding opportunities and strategic narratives 

• A Fundraising Communications Manager, Case for Support Manager or Development Manager, creating compelling fundraising products, campaigns and donor-facing content. 

• A senior copywriter, content strategist or journalist with some experience of high value fundraising. 

About you 

• You are an exceptional writer with experience creating high-quality, persuasive content for fundraising, communications or marketing audiences. 

• You have developed successful cases for support, fundraising propositions or campaigns that engage and inspire high value supporters. 

• You have professional copywriting experience in a fast-paced, high-output environment. 

• You are highly organised and able to manage multiple projects, stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously. 

• You enjoy collaborating across teams and translating complex information into clear, compelling stories and funding opportunities. 

• Above all, you are motivated by Crisis' mission and committed to using communications to help end homelessness.
