About the role
RAID has 4 main advice areas: Information Navigation, Benefits Advice, Energy Advice and Money Advice. The Cost of Living Crisis has disproportionally impacted Disabled people, who are more likely to face higher living costs, barriers to employment and reduced financial resilience, making it harder to cope with rising household expenses. Many of the people we see are in challenging situations; struggling with debt, experiencing food and fuel poverty, facing homeless and dealing with loneliness and isolation. The work can be emotionally challenging.
The Money Advisor will provide high-quality, accessible and person-centred money advice to Disabled people and people with long-term health conditions, supporting them to understand their financial situation, maximise their income, manage financial pressures and exercise their rights.
The Money Advisor will be required to undertake training to again gain accreditation from the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), as part of their Quality Framework for Individuals, and will be expected to retain this qualification through continual professional development. Free training will be provided through the Wiser Adviser platform.
The Money Advisor will provide practical advice and support on a range of financial issues, budgeting, debt, household costs and financial inclusion. You will work closely with our Welfare Benefits team and undertake casework yourself as required to resolve issues. The role will recognise the barriers created by social, economic and environmental factors and work alongside people to identify solutions that increase financial security, choice and independence.
The postholder will work within RAID's rights-based and Social Model of Disability approach, ensuring that Disabled people are listened to, treated with dignity and supported to make informed decisions about their lives.
About You
You are a knowledgeable, approachable and compassionate adviser who is passionate about helping Disabled people improve their financial security and exercise their rights.
You will have experience of providing money, welfare benefits or related advice and be confident supporting people to navigate what can sometimes be complex financial and benefits systems. You will be able to explain information clearly and in an accessible way, helping people understand their options and make informed decisions.
You will take a person-centred and rights-based approach, recognising that Disabled people can experience significant financial barriers, including additional costs associated with disability, inaccessible services, discrimination and barriers to employment and income. You will understand the importance of listening to people and working alongside them rather than making assumptions about what they need.
You will be comfortable supporting people with a range of circumstances and levels of support needs. You will be patient, non-judgemental and able to build trust with people who may have had difficult experiences when accessing services.
You will be organised and able to manage your own caseload, prioritise effectively and maintain accurate records. You will also enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues and external organisations to find practical solutions and achieve positive outcomes for the people we support.
You do not need to be an accredited money advisor to apply but you must successfully complete the required training and be able to demonstrate an interest and aptitude for money advice.
To apply
To apply for this role, please send your CV and a covering letter of up to 2 sides of A4 stating how you meet the Essential and Desirable criteria in Experience and Knowledge section of the Job description.

The Talent Set is delighted to be partnering with Mencap to recruit a new Head of Fundraising Strategy & Operations. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK's leading disability charities at a pivotal moment of investment and renewed ambition.
Head of Fundraising Strategy & Operations
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 dependent on experience
Location: Hybrid (London HQ)
Mencap is seeking an exceptional fundraising operations and strategy leader to join the organisation as Head of Fundraising Strategy & Operations. This is a newly created and highly influential role at the centre of Mencap's fundraising transformation journey. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Fundraising, the successful candidate will act as a key strategic partner, helping to build the systems, processes, insight and infrastructure required to support sustainable fundraising growth.
This role will shape the future of fundraising strategy and operations at Mencap. Working across a directorate with clear ambition for growth, you will lead the planning, performance, insight, systems and case for support activity that helps their fundraising teams work with clarity, consistency and confidence.
Mencap’s fundraising teams need strong foundations to build trusted relationships, grow income and deliver lasting impact for people with a learning disability and their families. You will work closely with senior fundraising leaders and colleagues across Mencap to turn the ambition of Mencap 2030 into joined-up plans, strengthen reporting and forecasting, and improve how data, systems and evidence are used to support decision making.
We are looking for a confident fundraising strategy and operations leader who combines strategic thinking with strong planning, reporting, systems and stakeholder management experience. You will be able to bring structure to complex work, improve ways of working and support sustainable fundraising growth across the directorate.

This is a highly collaborative leadership role requiring strong relationship-building skills, excellent project management capability and the ability to influence across organisational boundaries. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director, helping to drive continuous improvement across the fundraising function and supporting the wider transformation agenda.

- Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments and seniority levels.
- Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of developing capability and building high-performing teams.
- A strategic mindset combined with strong operational delivery skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and fundraising excellence.
Above all, we are looking for a collaborative and solutions-focused leader who is passionate about fundraising excellence. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of fundraising at Mencap by building the systems, insight and operational foundations that will support long-term sustainable growth and enable greater impact for people with a learning disability and their families.

Director of Public Fundraising & Engagement
Salary: £85,000
Location: Hybrid (London HQ)
Mencap is embarking on an exciting period of fundraising growth and transformation, creating a rare opportunity for an ambitious and strategic fundraising leader to join the organisation as Director of Public Fundraising & Engagement. With strong backing from the Chief Executive, Board and Executive Team, public fundraising is recognised as a critical source of flexible, unrestricted income that enables Mencap to deliver meaningful impact for people with a learning disability and their families.
This role will shape the future of public fundraising and engagement at Mencap. At a pivotal point in their strategy, you will lead an established and ambitious portfolio across Individual Giving, Community and Events, and Legacies, helping grow sustainable income, extend their reach and build deeper relationships with the people who support Mencap's work.
Many people who support Mencap have a personal connection to someone with a learning disability. You will build on these valued relationships while developing a compelling case for support that reaches further, inspires new people to engage with the cause and grows Mencap's supporter base. Working with colleagues across the organisation, you will turn awareness and commitment into meaningful action, strengthening their fundraising culture and helping make a greater difference for people with a learning disability and their families.
Recent investment in fundraising infrastructure, including the implementation of Salesforce, has created the foundations for future growth. The organisation is now focused on strengthening supporter insight, building a more integrated view of audiences and creating a smarter, more data-led approach to engagement and income generation. While there are areas of strong performance and established success, there are also significant opportunities to strengthen strategic planning, prioritisation, audience development and supporter engagement. The successful candidate will help shape the organisation's next fundraising strategy, ensuring investment decisions, income ambitions and delivery plans are aligned and achievable.

- Build a stronger approach to audience understanding and segmentation to support growth in engagement and income.
- Strengthen ways of working with Brand and Communications to improve supporter journeys and fundraising conversion.
- Strengthen leadership, systems and processes so the public fundraising function has the capability and infrastructure to grow sustainably.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- A strong track record of senior fundraising leadership, with significant expertise in individual giving and supporter acquisition.
- Experience managing and growing large-scale public fundraising programmes.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of legacy fundraising and its strategic value within a diversified fundraising portfolio.
- Experience leading fundraising transformation, organisational change and income growth initiatives.
- The ability to use data, insight and technology to improve fundraising performance and supporter engagement.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience working effectively across complex organisations.
- Proven experience building collaborative relationships across multiple functions and senior leadership teams.
- Exceptional people leadership skills, with experience of developing high-performing teams and creating clarity around strategic priorities.

Make a difference every day by helping a growing autism charity deliver the very best support for autistic people and their families.
Space4Autism is looking for an experienced, organised and people-focused Business & Operations Manager to help drive our organisation forward and ensure everything behind the scenes runs effectively.
Space4Autism has been a lifeline for autistic individuals and their families across Cheshire East since 2005. What started as a parent-founded, volunteer-run charity has grown into an organisation delivering over 4,000 activities a year - social clubs for children and young people, parent and carer support, services for autistic adults, an autism-friendly community café, a charity shop offering work experience for autistic adults, training and workshops, and space for private hire. Everything we do is guided by one simple promise: we listen, we help, we care.
Now, as we grow, we need someone who can help us grow well - a Business & Operations Manager who will work hand-in-hand with our CEO to keep the organisation running smoothly, sustainably, and with the same care we bring to every family we support.
The opportunity…
This is a hands-on senior leadership role for a pragmatic, confident operator who's just as comfortable in a budget spreadsheet as they are supporting a team, and who genuinely wants their work to change lives. You'll be a trusted partner to the CEO, taking ownership of the day-to-day so that strategy turns into action - across business planning, finance, funding, people, operations, and governance.
You'll report directly to the CEO and line manage the whole Space4Autism team, giving you real influence over how the charity runs and grows.
What you'll be doing…
Business planning & strategy: help shape, implement, and monitor our business plan, turn strategic goals into clear action plans, and keep leadership priorities, projects, and timelines on track. You'll attend Trustee Board meetings and bring your insight, challenges, and ideas to the table.
Budgets & finance: support budget planning, monitoring, and reporting, and keep a close eye on spend so we stay financially sustainable, working alongside our finance team and external accountants.
Funding & income: help drive our funding strategy and income diversification, track grant requirements and deadlines, and coordinate funding applications and stakeholder communications.
Operations: own the smooth running of the organisation day to day: improving systems and processes, spotting operational risks before they become problems, and supporting governance and compliance.
People Management & Leadership: line manage the whole team, lead on recruitment, and support onboarding, performance, and development, building a working culture that's positive, collaborative, and accountable.
Policy & governance: develop and maintain our policies and procedures, keeping us compliant with legislation and best practice, and supporting our wider governance and compliance reporting.
What we're looking for…
· Strong business management and operational leadership experience
· Proven financial and budget management capability
· Experience managing people, teams, and organisational processes
· Sound knowledge of governance and compliance, including regulatory frameworks, safeguarding, and best practice
· Somebody who is able to occasionally attend off-site fundraisers and other events outside of core working hours
· A track record of supporting organisational growth — scaling services, managing change, building capacity
· A confident, pragmatic decision maker with sharp problem-solving skills
· Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities
· A hands-on style that works both strategically and operationally
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
It would also be great if you have…
· Experience building strategic relationships and partnerships
· A background in the charity, healthcare, or NHS sectors
· Knowledge of charity governance, safeguarding, or regulatory frameworks
· An understanding of autism services or neurodiversity-informed practice
· Experience working in a growing organisation or service environment
You'll fit right in if you're…
Proactive and solutions-focused, calm under pressure, a collaborative leader with a strong sense of accountability and integrity and genuinely passionate about improving outcomes for autistic individuals and their families.
What you’ll get in return…
· Salary of £38,000 - £42,000 DOE
· Enrollment into employee pension scheme
· 31 days holidays including bank holidays
· Wellbeing social days
· Charity discount scheme
Ready to apply? Here’s what you need to know…
Please submit your most up to date CV via this advert. It is highly desirable that you also attach a cover letter to highlight your relevant experience and motivations for wanting to join Space4Autism.
Suitable candidates will be contacted for an initial telephone discussion prior to final shortlisting. Those shortlisted will be invited to attend a competency-based interview where you will also be tasked with preparing a short presentation.
If you are successful in the competency-based interview, you will be invited to attend a final meeting with the CEO to ensure you align and to answer any questions you may have about the role and the charity.
