Back on Track is a leading specialist provider of community learning and holistic support to adults experiencing multiple disadvantage including adults who have experience of problematic drug/alcohol use, the criminal justice system, challenges with their mental health, or those living in unstable accommodation. As part of the commissioned services that we deliver, we are looking for a motivated, dynamic, Early Helps for Adults navigator to deliver excellent 1:1 support to adults throughout Manchester. This work is carried out in partnership with Shelter and The Big Life Group and is underpinned by the key principles of early intervention and prevention. Your support will be person centred and trauma informed and will support participants to address challenges and reduce barriers to living well. Partnership working is an important part of this role. 

We are looking for someone who is proactive and flexible with good time management and organisational skills. You will demonstrate a commitment to the people on the programme, putting their needs at the centre of your work. The Communications and Research Officer is a new post designed to help bridge the gap between the research and campaigning work of Drone Wars UK and our supporters and the general public. The role is split 50/50 between communications and research. The communications element combines social media activity, website content creation and email communications, helping to ensure our messages are communicated clearly, consistently and creatively across a range of channels.  The research element consists of undertaking a number of short-term specific research projects alongside participation in on-going longer-term research work.

• To be responsible for Drone Wars UK’s website, managing regular content updates and improving the content, layout and structure.

About the Role

As a Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of the full payroll lifecycle for a workforce of approximately 1,500-2,000+ employees, ensuring an accurate, compliant and timely payroll service.

You will lead a small payroll team, working closely with Finance and HR to ensure strong governance, reporting and continuous improvement across payroll operations.

As a Payroll Manager, you will:

As an experienced manager with a proven track record of leadership in providing services in prisons and possibly, to women in contact with the Criminal Justice System you will work collaboratively with other partner organisations, criminal justice services, Ministry of Justice and HMPPS. You will manage the prisons advocacy services and teams for unsentenced and sentenced women within the custodial settings at HMP Peterborough and HMP Bronzefield. You will have a great understanding of the prison systems and regime including some of the challenges faced.

You will build and maintain key relationships, partnerships and contracts with relevant partners and funders, together with the Head of Criminal Justice Services and Director of Criminal Justice Services. 

You will be an inspirational leader, responsible for recruiting, developing and managing a team and will be responsible for coordinating, reporting, and the delivery of the related services as commissioned by the Ministry of Justice. You will be accountable for managing your teams safely and securely whilst carrying out all activities within the prison setting.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential.

About You

To be successful as the Operational Manager for Prison Services you will need the below experience and skills:

• A thorough understanding of and knowledge of the issues relating to women in the criminal justice system.
• A sound knowledge of safeguarding adult and children principles, child abuse, child protection issues and safeguarding.

• Significant experience of working with women and/or service users with a complex range of needs, particularly within the criminal justice system, in custody and/or community.

Role Purpose: 

The Helpline Advisor will be the first point of contact for individuals reporting incidents of anti-Muslim hate. The role requires delivering empathetic, confidential, and high-quality support to callers, as well as accurately recording reports and ensuring all relevant procedures are followed. 

Helpline Advisors will support service users via multiple channels—phone, email, SMS, WhatsApp, online chat and web form, by listening actively, offering appropriate information, and making referrals to specialist services where required. They will work closely with the Helpline Supervisor and participate in debriefs and reflective practice after each shift or reported incident. 

Advisors will also play an important role in ensuring accurate data capture, safeguarding procedures, and upholding the values of compassion, non-judgement, and confidentiality. 

Role Responsibilities:  

• Answer incoming calls from victims of hate crime with empathy and professionalism. 
    

• Provide support to service users using a variety of methods, including telephone, email, SMS, online chat, online forms, and other written reports. 
    

• Provide clear, appropriate advice, support, and information to service users, using a non-judgemental and person-centred approach. 
    

• Keep accurate, detailed electronic records of each contact, including advice given, support offered, and agreed referrals. 
    

• Understand when it is necessary to seek support from more experienced colleagues or external agencies and take appropriate action. 
    

• Make referrals to other agencies when necessary, including child and adult protection concerns, on the advice of senior staff. 
    

• Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with data protection and safeguarding policies. 
    

• Engage sensitively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those who may be distressed, traumatised, or in crisis (trauma-informed approach)

• Undertake online monitoring and related reporting activity during quieter periods or downtime on the helpline, in line with organisational procedures and priorities.

Person Specification:  

• Experience in helpline, support work, or similar client-facing roles. 
    

• Understanding of hate crime and its impacts, particularly on Muslim communities. 
    

• Excellent listening, communication, and note-taking skills. 
    

• Ability to manage emotional content and maintain professional boundaries. 
    

• Strong understanding and knowledge of anti-Muslim hatred and Islamophobia. 
    

• Excellent understanding of British Muslim communities, their diversity, and everyday practices. 

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote/hybrid setting. 
    

• Experience working with marginalised communities or individuals affected by discrimination or trauma is an asset. 

• Familiarity with call-handling software or CRMs (e.g., RingCentral, Zoho) is desirable but not necessary.

The Role

As a Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of the full payroll lifecycle for a workforce of approximately 1,500–2,000+ employees, ensuring an accurate, compliant and timely payroll service.

About the role

We are looking for passionate and dedicated Family Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs) to join Birmingham's new Family IDVA Service. With 10 roles available, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative city-wide service from the very beginning, helping to improve outcomes for parents and their children who have experienced domestic abuse.

Each Family IDVA will be based within one of Birmingham's 10 Family Hubs, working as part of a multi-agency network to provide specialist domestic abuse support where families need it most. Combining core IDVA expertise with a strong whole-family and child-centred approach, you will work directly with parents aged 16+ and their children under 18, helping them to increase safety, reduce risk and begin their recovery journey.

As a Family IDVA, you will provide a flexible range of interventions tailored to the needs of each family. This may include risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy, practical and emotional support, support through criminal and civil justice processes, recovery-focused interventions, and helping families access wider services and opportunities. You will manage a varied caseload and work closely with partner agencies to ensure families receive the right support at the earliest opportunity, preventing escalation and reducing harm.

Alongside direct support, you will play an important role in strengthening the wider response to domestic abuse across Birmingham. You will deliver targeted training and awareness sessions to professionals within Early Help, education, health and community settings, helping to build confidence in identifying and responding to domestic abuse and ensuring families can access support sooner.
