Salary: £28,800
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday on a rota varying between 20:00 - 09:30. You may be required to work outside these hours including evenings, days and bank holidays and other times as per resident and service requirements.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Coach to join our Independent Approved Premises (IAP) covering the night shift on a rolling rota. You will play a key role in supporting our residents who have left prison and are based within a residential setting to reintegrate into the community. You will develop and engage with our residents to produce tailored support plans which support their individual needs in successful rehabilitation and reintegration within the community. You will identify their needs, goals and skills, and then support and motivate them to achieve their potential. The service holds a strong focus on public protection and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times
- Engaging with residents throughout the night, ensuring they are adhering to their license conditions. This may include planning activities to engage with them such as movie nights, games nights, and other activities applicable
- Be a valued and reliable member of the team on the night shift, completing handovers for day colleagues for a seamless service
- Building trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins
- Focusing on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals
- Keep support plans updated on our online portals as appropriate
About You
We're looking for someone who has a true passion to help make a difference and contribute to providing safer communities for all. You will be comfortable working within the criminal justice setting, and supporting residents to have access to the tools and resources to better enhance their quality of life after their release from prison. You will have an understanding of criminal justice settings and will have the ability to build meaningful rapport with others who have multiple and complex needs and backgrounds. We look for adaptability, proactiveness, and confidence within your own skillset and ability to drive meaningful impact. We also look for:
- Understanding of the housing and social needs of people who have recently been released from prison
- Ability to build meaningful professional relationships and rapport with people from varying backgrounds
- Ability to create tailored support plans to support rehabilitation and reintegration within the community
- Cultural awareness, Self-awareness, and ability to identify personal growth areas and take feedback
- Ability to use IT systems to record case notes, email relevant people, and use other software required within the role
- Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

About the Role
We're hiring a Support Mentor to join our team based in Kensington and Chelsea. In this role, you will support residents who reside in our supported accommodation and have experience of homelessness and have multiple disadvantages such as with their mental health, substance use, or have an offending history.
As a Support Mentor, you will identify individual resident needs, and provide person centred, tailored support to residents to help them overcome their personal challenges and achieve their goals. You will be part of a supportive, collaborative team which delivers person-centered support to our residents, to enable them to build independence, improve wellbeing, and move on to longer-term housing. You will do this through a combination of producing tailored support plans, activities, and partnership working. Do you want to get out there and work in a role where you will support an end to rough sleeping in Bristol?
St Mungo’s Bristol Street Outreach Team will be recruiting to a number of Outreach Worker roles as part of an increased number of opportunities across rough sleeping services. This could include working with focused groups of clients including those residing in vehicles on the roadside or people who have been rough sleeping for a particularly long time, some of whom are part of the ‘Target Priority Group (TPG)’.
Our belief is that rough sleeping is an intrinsically harmful and dangerous activity both for the individual and for the wider community. Therefore, we take a proactive and assertive approach to supporting people away from this activity. Our aim is to support people to recover from the effects of rough sleeping and move away from a street lifestyle permanently.
Working as an Outreach Worker you will:
- Work with people who are rough sleeping to assess their needs and deliver a person-centred support that meet peoples individual needs and connect them to suitable housing options. This could also include working alongside people who are residing in vehicles on the roadside.
- Balance time in the community, on Outreach, working with people where they are sleeping or spending their days, alongside time in the office completing administrative tasks and attending meetings.
- Help people access vital services like healthcare, substance use support, and adult social care.
- Work in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams and agencies across the city to meet client’s individual needs.
It’s not always an easy job, but the opportunity to work with different people every day, helping individuals experiencing homelessness and the local community end the harms of rough sleeping can be highly rewarding.
You will work on a weekly shift rota including mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. This helps us to ensure we are available to support people experiencing homelessness when they need us the most. Shifts can vary particularly during periods of extreme weather.
About you

What you’ll do

The Pelham road Service will be 5 new self-contained flats, for customers with learning disabilities, Autism and Complex needs, and we are looking to build a staff team with an excellent value base to support the customer to build their new life and develop their skills as an independent person.

What you’ll do:
• Supporting the customer to undertake a full timetable of preferred activities including sport and leisure activities, attending community groups, visiting local amenities, and introducing them to new activities to expand their horizons and networks;
• Developing the customer’s independent living skills and involving them in all aspects of maintaining and developing their home, including cooking, shopping, cleaning and decorating;

About Us
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Charity and Housing Association. The Society of St James (SSJ) has been working in Hampshire for over 50 years, delivering high impact, person-centred, accommodation services to adults and young people experiencing homelessness, problematic substance use and mental health problems. The Impact You’ll Make
The Homeless Drug and Alcohol Team is a funded initiative built to break down barriers for individuals experiencing homelessness or living in temporary housing while managing drug and/or alcohol use. We fill critical gaps in standard provision, making treatment accessible to those who need it most.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Peer Mentor to make a direct impact. Working alongside case managers across community settings and accommodation services, you will deliver trauma- and psychologically informed interventions to clients who find mainstream support hard to reach. Your lived experience will be invaluable—demonstrating the true capacity for change, inspiring service users, and empowering them to move forward on their own journey.
We will provide comprehensive training in trauma-informed care and local service networks, giving you a unique chance to sharpen your skills in client-centered practice.
Working Pattern: Our team operates 7 days a week, including some evenings and Bank Holidays, ensuring flexible, consistent support for those we serve.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking someone with lived experience of homelessness, substance use, or mental health challenges, alongside a background in this sector. You understand that recovery is a deeply personal journey, and you excel at tailoring support to meet each individual's unique path. Passionate and creative, you bring fresh ideas to service development and will collaborate closely with our team to help grow and elevate our support.
