The Head of Youth Work holds overall responsibility for the development and delivery of Providence House Youth Club’s youth work programmes, working with young people aged 8 to 19 from disadvantaged backgrounds across Battersea. As our foundational senior delivery hire, they will lead the delivery departments of universal youth work, girls work, sports programmes, detached and outreach work, school programmes and community mentoring. The postholder is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and acts as Deputy Safeguarding Lead. They will be hands-on: delivering youth club sessions, residentials and trips alongside the team, while ensuring Providence House remains a fun, supportive, safe and inclusive place that attracts and retains young people, raises their aspirations, and journeys alongside them for the long term.

Across UHB Charity we are currently raising funds for a Total Body PET CT Scanner as well as our Children's and Newborn Appeals and Home from Home accommodation for civilians and military personnel, to name just a few.

As a Grants Manager you will help the Charity provide much needed equipment and facilities that will make a real difference to our patients and their families.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Grants Manager role is primarily based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for University Hospitals Birmingham Charity, with the expectation to travel to the other sites, Good Hope Hospital, Heartlands Hospital, and Solihull Hospital.

This post will oversee the Grants Team at the Charity, with the responsibility of overseeing the distribution of grant funding to projects that align with the charity's mission.

Working as part of a team, the role involves managing the full grant-making process, from designing funding programmes and assessing applications to monitoring funded projects and evaluating their impact. The manager works closely with applicants, trustees, and external stakeholders to ensure funding decisions are fair, transparent, and achieve meaningful outcomes.

They also develop grant policies, manage budgets, ensure compliance with governance and regulatory requirements, and use data and evaluation findings to improve funding strategies.

Strong relationship management, strategic planning, financial oversight, and decision-making skills are essential, along with a commitment to delivering positive social impact.

This role may involve occasional evening and weekend work at charity events and events organised by our supporters.

This role sits within our Grants Team and will oversee two Senior Grants Officers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Ensure grant programmes align with the charity's objectives and priorities.
• Review and update grant policies, procedures, and eligibility criteria.
• Manage grant application processes.
• Oversee grant management systems and databases.
• Conduct due diligence on applicants, including financial and governance checks.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for trustees or grant committees.
• Support decision-making meetings and record outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with grant applicants, funded organisations, and stakeholders.
• Provide advice and guidance to applicants throughout the process.
• Act as the main point of contact for grant recipients.
• Monitor funded projects to ensure grant conditions are met.
• Review progress reports and financial returns from grant recipients.
• Evaluate the impact of funded projects against agreed outcomes.
• Identify lessons learned to improve future grant programmes.
• Manage grant budgets and payment schedules.
• Ensure grants are awarded within approved budgets.

COMMUNICATION

• Relaying accurate and timely information to the fundraising team, the Charity Chief Executive and Charity Trustees on a regular basis. Communicating with clinical and non-clinical staff within the hospital. Communicating with donors and stakeholders.
• Dealing with enquiries from the general public in a professional manner, disseminating information and ensuring that the appropriate action is taken, whilst maintaining the Charity’s policies and procedures.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to present oneself in a professional manner as a representative of the hospital and the charity.
• To maintain confidentiality in all aspects of duty, including grant and donor data.
• To assist in maintaining accurate records and to complete and return as requested statistical data.
• To maintain an accurate effective database, recording essential information and providing statistical data in accordance with guidelines and policy using Raiser's Edge, Microsoft Office, Word and Access.

MISCELLANEOUS

• To represent the Charity in a variety of different contexts and to a variety of different audiences.
• To ensure that a positive image of the hospital and the Charity is projected at all times
• To hold a flexible approach to working hours (the role will require the post holder to work evenings and weekends as necessary)
• To hold a flexible approach to work when asked to take on other fundraising or admin duties when the team needs to cover holidays, or at times of workload pressure
• To adopt a supportive and collegiate approach when working with the fundraising team and other colleagues within the hospital

The Grants Manager will also carry out other projects and duties as directed by the Head of Fundraising, Director of Fundraising and Charity Chief Executive.

As a positive subsequence, we are looking for a Head of Finance & Business Support, who will become a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing the financial stewardship of Citizens Advice Stevenage. To lead on financial governance, business support operations, and compliance, ensuring the organization operates sustainably and meets all legal and regulatory obligations. The role is pivotal in safeguarding the charity's financial integrity, supporting strategic decision-making, and enabling effective service delivery. 

Financial Leadership 

• Prepare, review, and present draft and final budgets for approval by the board, ensuring timely submission of financial information to the CEO and Trustee Board. 

• Oversee financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with regulatory standards, including variance analysis and annual balance sheets, ensuring timely submission of financial information to the CEO and Trustee Board. 

• Manage the reserves policy, ensuring regular review and alignment with operational needs and financial risks.

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Partnerships Data Analyst to support one of Fairtrade Foundation’s key global partnerships. Working closely with our Ben & Jerry's account team, you'll deliver reporting, analysis and insight that helps demonstrate impact, strengthen accountability and support informed decision-making.

You'll analyse partnership data, produce impact reports, support data quality and help ensure Fairtrade and Ben & Jerry's have the evidence needed to drive meaningful change across global supply chains.

About you

You'll have experience in data analysis, reporting or insight generation, strong Excel skills and the ability to turn complex information into clear, accessible insights. Experience working with partner or commercial reporting and large datasets would be an advantage.

Finance Administrator – Job Description

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer 

Direct reports: None

Location: Hybrid, at least one day per week at the Power Up North London office

Contract: Part-time (15 hours a week)

Salary: £12,000 per annum (£30,000 full-time equivalent, pro rata)

Role Purpose

Power Up North London is a leading community energy organisation delivering renewable energy, energy-efficiency and retrofit projects that directly benefit community groups and public buildings. We believe communities can and must play a central role in the transition to a low-carbon future.

The Finance Administrator will support the effective financial management and integrity of Power Up North London’s financial operations. The postholder will prepare accurate financial and management information, monitor budgets, and support finance processes including cashflow management, invoicing, payments and associated controls.

Working closely with the CEO, Treasurer, Board, internal colleagues and external finance providers, the postholder will provide timely financial information and administrative support to inform decision-making, meet funder requirements and support the organisation’s sustainable growth. The postholder will report to the CEO for day-to-day management and will work with the Treasurer, who provides Board-level financial oversight.

Key responsibilities

Financial Management and Governance 

• Maintain accurate and robust financial accounts and processes.

• Support the set-up and preparation of monthly management accounts for internal and Board reporting.

• Support preparation and management of the annual budget.

• Track income and expenditure against approved budgets, identifying and explaining variances.

• Establish and maintain grant and project income and expenditure tracking against budgets.

• Prepare financial reports for funders.

Billing and Revenue Assurance 

• Ensure timely billing and effective debtor management.

• Identify and escalate site billing discrepancies.

• Support the investigation and resolution of issues to ensure accurate income collection.

Cashflow and Treasury Management

• Manage cashflow and maintain accurate forecasts.

• Reconcile bank accounts fortnightly and track cash movements.

• Monitor invoice timing and payment disbursements to support effective cashflow management.

Performance Monitoring and Financial Modelling 

• Liaise with the Asset Management Team to track solar-site and project performance against forecasts.

• Analyse income and expenditure, highlighting risks and opportunities.

• Support electricity pricing for new sites and review financial assumptions and models.

External Finance Coordination

• Work effectively with Sharenergy, Power Up North London’s outsourced finance provider.

• Liaise on accounting, reporting and financial queries, ensuring timely resolution.

• Monitor delivery against the service-level agreement.

Financial Controls 

• Ensure compliance with Power Up North London’s financial processes and controls.

• Implement and maintain controls for incoming and outgoing payments, grant management and bank reconciliations.

Funding context

This role is funded in part by a National Lottery Community Fund grant and in part through Power Up North London’s earned income from the delivery of solar, retrofit and energy advice/training projects that generate project management fees. 

Finance Administrator - Person Specification

Essential experience

• Experience in a finance or accounting role, including financial reporting and budget tracking.

• Experience preparing or supporting the preparation of management accounts.

• Experience working with external finance providers or accountants.

Essential knowledge and skills

• Strong financial and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to analyse financial data and communicate insights clearly.

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

• Experience tracking project-based finances or multi-site income models.

• Confidence using spreadsheets and financial systems.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Experience and Knowledge

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant.

• Experience in community energy, sustainability or the not-for-profit sector.

• Familiarity with energy pricing or financial modelling.
