What you will be doing:
In this role, you will act as a first point of contact both face to face and over the telephone, handling a diverse range of enquiries and visits from families, volunteers, supporters, staff and members of the public. In addition, you will provide a high level of administrative and customer care support to include donation processing, database maintenance, delivering support activities for online fundraising page supporters. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and deepen your understanding of fundraising and charity work, be involved in maintaining excellent donor and supporter relationships whilst working within a supportive and professional fundraising team. Charlton Farm is a beautiful and well equipped workplace at the edge of Bristol with plenty of free parking, surrounded by beautiful walks and views. The role is 21 hours per week worked over three days: Wednesday to Friday.
The Successful Candidate:
You will be adept at prioritising competing demands and able to adapt your approach to a variety of situations and audiences. You will have a good telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills, with an excellent understanding of confidentiality and data protection, an interest in the aims and objectives of Children's Hospice South West, a professional approach with tact and diplomacy and the ability to enthuse and motivate others. You will have a flexible and collaborative approach to teamwork, and the ability and confidence to apply your own initiative. An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel and Outlook) and database management is essential as is the ability to carry out detailed work with high attention to detail and accuracy. The post holder will coordinate and provide information-based sexual health outreach services, testing and brief HIV prevention interventions in commercial venues and at events across London. Interventions will predominantly target people who may be at higher risk of HIV and STI acquisition, particularly amongst higher prevalence communities such as Gay, Bisexual and Men who have Sex with Men (GBMSM), Black African and Trans communities. This role will involve working within sex on premises venues frequented by GBMSM and would therefore be best suited to someone from that community. Programme
The post holder will be a member of the GMI Partnership team, based at METRO, working closely with their counterparts at other GMI partner agencies (Positive East and Spectra). The partnership is the main provider of the London HIV Prevention Programme, a sexual health and HIV testing outreach programme for GBMSM, across the capital. The post holder will be responsible for liaising directly with other contract partners and being a main point of contact for various outreach venue providers. As a Digital Communications Coordinator you will work across the UK assisting the Activist Engagement team with digital support to improve the engagement of our active members throughout the four countries. You’ll be working closely with members and RCN staff coordinating the digital tools and platforms needed to develop and enhance peer to peer communication for our active members, strengthening activist communities and building power.
It's a job full of possibilities as you could get involved in anything from member participation using digital technology; data management; to scoping the market for new and innovative technology to support member participation.
In this role you will be working to across two main areas of priority: digital tools and data management. You’re day-to-day will be coordinating all the digital engagement tools and platforms. This may include supporting member to member participation through existing platforms to scoping the technology market for new innovative ways to increase member engagement. With support from the Lead for Activist communities you will also manage all aspects of digital engagement data and work closely with the Data and IT teams to ensure data protection.
We’re looking for someone who is technology savvy and is comfortable working with numbers. Someone who pays attention to detail and who can work as part of a team while hitting individual targets. Who is a go-getter and can follow the direction set by the Lead for Activist Communities, the Head of Activist Engagement, and the over-all strategic direction of the Activism Academy. It is important you can build professional relationships with members and staff by promoting a working atmosphere where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Most importantly you will have a commitment to grow a deeper understanding of building activism which will help to shape the RCN’s activist engagement.

- Lead on the planning and implementation of legacy and in mem fundraising portfolio, managing marketing campaigns from initial brief through to post campaign analysis.
- Develop and maintain sustainable relationships with in mem supporters and legacy prospects in local communities, with the support of community fundraising managers and local volunteers – keeping these supporters at the heart of your work to to maintain and increase their support through excellent stewardship.
- Prepare and administer correspondence and relevant paperwork and ensure maintenance for full and accurate database (D365/First Class) records, analysing financial and non-financial data to monitor and improve engagement and customer service performance.
- Proactively keep abreast of competitor activities, new initiatives and sector trends.
- Effectively plan and execute legacy events around the country, with the aim of motivating supporters to consider leaving a gift in their Will.

The role of the Finance & Admin Assistant will be pivotal in providing both financial and administrative aid, alongside office services, to ensure the Country Office operates smoothly
- Administration: Accountable for the routine management of the office, ensuring all operations run smoothly.
- Office Premises: Supervising the office environment and maintaining all office equipment to guarantee they are in a excellent working condition.
- Facility Maintenance: Responsible for organising cleaning and gardening services to maintain the office premises effectively.
- Contract Management: Checking all agreements with the landlord, security firm, IT consultant, cleaning service, and other pertinent suppliers, ensuring robust supervision of security personnel.
