The Coach’s role will be to engage with our adult beneficiaries, supporting them to identify and achieve their aspirations for themselves and for their families.

Adopting a holistic, person-centred approach, she will support beneficiaries both to reach short term goals (through the delivery of Information, Advice and Guidance) and to develop the resources, skills and behaviours necessary to make longer term progress (through Coaching) across the five ‘pillars’ of our social mobility framework:

They will be supported to develop their research skills and will be encouraged to bring creativity and rigour to exploring the structural inequalities that shape the lives of the women SBS supports.

The Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex and London (RAMFEL) is one of the largest immigration and asylum advice charities in the UK, supporting refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to access justice. Specific Responsibilities

Social media output

1. Creating engaging, high-quality and innovative content for paid campaigns on RAMFEL’s social media platforms.
2. Producing high quality video content from RAMFEL events.
3. Producing static images, carousels, and memes to support petitions and outreach.
4. Managing content production end-to-end, including scripting, filming, editing, and reporting.
5. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure content is accurate and on-message.
6. Supporting multiple campaigns simultaneously and contributing to broader team projects.
7. Providing regular performance insights.

Organisational development

1. Contribute and lead on monitoring and evaluating our social media efforts and supporter engagement.
2. Ownership and oversight of RAMFEL’s website.

4. Grow our supporter and social media base and engagement.

General responsibilities

1. Seek to continuously improve in order that RAMFEL’s messaging and impact is shared broadly across the sector and beyond.

The successful candidate will spend their time delivering a frontline welfare benefits triaging service with the support of a senior caseworker. 

To succeed, you will need experience of advice work which includes using a benefits calculator and signposting. The role also involves managing our telephone and email inbox into the advice service and obtaining feedback about the service from clients alongside initial advice giving. The role will include some casework including concessionary travel claims when capacity allows and with relevant training. 

You will need excellent communication skills and be unphased by people presenting with multiple issues, often in emotional distress. You’ll be excited by the challenge of learning new things and have a good knowledge of the services used by disabled people.

The Information & Advice Adviser is a vital role that works directly with older people who come to the service seeking information and advice on pension age benefits.

Last year the service worked to support over 800 older adults with information and advice on benefits, health, housing and care, and assisted the uptake of nearly £600,000 of previously unclaimed benefits.

An important part of this role will be to triage initial client needs which have been referred into the service by both internal and external partners, this will then ensure the team provides the right advice and high-quality support, whether on the phone, email or face to face.

About The Role

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join us at the Alzheimer’s Society based in our new flagship service based in Manchester Brain Health Service! 

This is a new innovative service partnership and will be an incredibly exciting time to join us as we embark on our journey to focus efforts on the prevention of the advancement of dementia at a much earlier stage in an individual’s life!

As a Brain Health Adviser, you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide support, information, and guidance to people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI); helping to maintain their wellbeing and supporting them to explore lifestyle changes that may benefit their brain health.

The service is unique to each individual as it is based upon their personal circumstances and support needs. You will offer support to your clients in a variety of ways, whether in the Manchester Brain Health Service, the client's own home, or at other locations in the community (face to face, by phone, letter, or email). You will also assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals, and facilitating peer support groups on occasions in various location in the area! 

Hours - 35 hours 
Fixed Term Contract - until 31st December 2027  
Location – 3 days within the Manchester Brain Health Service (Currently Monday to Wednesday, then community based with some homeworking)

You will need:

- The confidence and ability to communicate with a wide range of people, adapting your approach to ensure understanding. You will be required to speak publicly at events about brain health and memory concerns, delivering information and signposting people to further resources and networks.  
 
- The ability to support people affected by a diagnosis of MCIexplore changes that support their health and wellbeing.
 
- You will be able demonstrate your skills being proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a local team. 
  - Strong IT skills for inputting detailed, factual case records on a client database and using virtual meeting software (Teams / Zoom). The ability to travel across local area independently and wider area on occasions.  

What you’ll focus on:  

- Your primary role will be in delivering personalised and tailored support to people accessing the Manchester Brain Health Centre.  

- Being a named, trusted contact for people attending the service, enabling them to access relevant information, activities, and services that support their wellbeing.

- Managing your own caseload of clients and referring people to the appropriate health, community and social care organisations when required.

- Providing advice and guidance at local peer groups, brain health support groups and community networks, whilst looking out for new opportunities to promote the service and maintain the profile of services across the area.

• Deliver one-to-one appointments, particularly, ensuring that over-55s seeking support receive timely and accurate information, tailoring the assistance to address their specific needs, and directing them to the appropriate services within the organisation.

• Work with the Together Coordinator to build and maintain, relationships with other organisations and agencies across Southwark to facilitate effective referrals and signposting, ensuring clients can access a broad range of support services beyond Pecan.

• Support and maintain all of the administrative duties associated with the Together Space.

 

Key Requirements (specific skills, qualifications required):

• Posses analytical skills and can think critically to grasp the client’s needs and provide sound advice on the best course of action.
• Experience of working with and supporting vulnerable or disadvantaged people.

As a Helpline Worker, you will be providing support for those experiencing mental health difficulties through our clients helpline service. The helpline supports people living in the Birmingham and Solihull area.

The support offered will include (but is not exclusive to), receiving calls, emails and webchat from people who may be experiencing crisis, people looking for more general assistance and information about services, carers looking for advice and services, and other community support services. You will provide appropriate referrals and signposting information about our clients services and external partner agencies.

The helpline is a 7 day a week service from 9am -5pm and 3pm -11pm. You will have at least 6 months’ experience in the mental health field, with experience of supporting people to be in control of their lives.
