Training Link is recruiting a new Green Learning Coordinator who will develop and run environmental workshops for local residents in Somers Town, Camden.
The purpose of the role is to design and deliver a new Green Learning programme for Training Link and to support residents in Somers Town in their journey to becoming cleaner and greener through community engagement, training and project delivery.
About Training Link
Training Link is a small charity with nearly 40 years’ experience of supporting people in Somers Town. We offer courses for adults to help people get a job or return to work, often after a long absence. Many of our learners are reluctant to go to a large adult education college where in practice they would receive little individual support in their learning; we offer a supportive, friendly learning environment where people feel comfortable and welcomed. Current classes include ESOL, IT and Maths. We also provide one to one sessions for those needing support around literacy.
Purpose of the role:
- To design and deliver new Green Learning programme for Training Link.
- To develop and run high quality, engaging, fun and interactive community-based environmental awareness classes and activities tailored to adult learners, including learners speaking English as a second language.
- To support residents in Somers Town in their journey to becoming cleaner and greener through community engagement, training and project delivery.
- To help Training Link team to positively engage and communicate with local residents and community leaders/ groups on climate emergency and positive actions.
- To create a welcoming, inclusive and positive learning environment.
- To enable those learners who wish to study further to gain an accredited qualification in Environmental Awareness, including environmental awareness in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- To record and monitor learners’ attendance, progression and achievement.
- To contribute to the evaluation of teaching and learning to inform future planning, ensuring learner involvement in the process.
- To keep up to date with local and wider issues related to the Climate Emergency, from a lay person’s perspective.
- To liaise with the Director and participate in the appraisal process when required.
- To carry out duties with due regard to Training Link’s Equality and Diversity, Information, Governance, Data Protection, Safeguarding, and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- To ensure that each learner provides personal information as required, and complete a learner agreement enrolment form and evaluation form at the end of the course. To keep a register for each session.
- To signpost learners to other courses, services and activities as appropriate
- To complete forms for the National Open College Network and any other external assessment body.
Essential Requirements for the Role
- Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Good understanding of the Climate Crisis and what can be done at a grass roots level to address it.
- An adult teaching or coaching qualification is desirable, or willingness to be working towards one.
- Ability to think creatively and use judgement, experience and initiative to solve problems
- An aptitude for collaboration and cross team working
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to engage and communicate effectively with all sections of the community, in a variety of situations, including the confidence to present to different and represent Training Link at events
- An understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusion.
- A can-do attitude
- Ideally a good knowledge of the Somers Town area (not essential but desirable)
Experience
- Experience of teaching adults on a paid or voluntary basis.
- Experience of community engagement with proven positive results

Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Outreach & Engagement Worker will deliver 2-4 daytime outreach sessions per week in Manchester alongside partners, colleagues and volunteers. They will also attend the Street Engagement Hub weekly to provide specialist support to women attending this multi-agency hub. They will provide brief interventions and casework support to women supporting their needs holistically.
You will work with other members of the MASH team to achieve the following outcomes:

Since 1991, MASH has been at the forefront of supporting women in and around Greater Manchester who are, have been or may start sex working and who are facing multiple disadvantage. We were founded as a social justice organisation, starting out as a grassroots, community led response to the HIV/AIDS crisis and we have continued to support women at the sharpest end of inequalities ever since.
Whilst the nature of sex work, the context in which we operate and the support we provide has changed dramatically over the last thirty years, one thing has remained constant: MASH continues to be a haven for some of the most marginalised women in Greater Manchester – women who fall through the gaps, are under served by mainstream services and face stigma, discrimination and multiple barriers to accessing the support they need. Shelter Sheffield provide housing advice and support to people across the city with a focus on emergency homelessness, intensive support for children and families, people experiencing domestic abuse and people with multiple and complex needs. We take a holistic approach to help people deal with interrelated issues that can impact their ability to keep a home and help over 5000 people a year while also working to change the underlying systems that cause the housing emergency.
About the role
You will be the first point of contact for in-person and telephone callers to the service - taking client details, providing information and working with advisers to direct enquiries to the right people.

The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.
Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.
You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic and determined, but you also need to be invested in our mission as a charity and care about people.
This role is about;
• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);
• being responsible for networking, identifying, and establishing partnerships with key individuals and organisations and nurturing existing relationships;
• developing and rolling out strategies to engage with hard-to-reach and isolated military carers and families;

Dog School plays an essential part of achieving positive change in the community; aiming to prevent the development of problem behaviours in dogs which may lead to relinquishment or euthanasia. Our teams provide positive, high quality, welfare friendly advice on dog training and behaviour during our fun, educational classes. Using only reward-based methodology, the Dog School aim is that each dog leaves the school with the ability to follow basic cues and behave well in everyday settings.
Working alongside, and under the supervision of the Head Coach, you will help to organise and teach a minimum of 15 dog training classes per week (both online and in-person) to the public, where necessary providing support on 1 to 1 basis to participants who may be struggling with specific training elements. You will also assist with all administrative duties and, acting as a Dogs Trust ambassador, you will promote Dog School in the local area through networking with relevant local businesses and targeting potential local events.
With an understanding of dog training along with excellent communication you be self-motivated with huge amounts of energy and strong interpersonal skills. You'll be passionate about helping dog owners better understand their pets with the aim of encouraging a positive long-term dog-owner relationship and will be capable of dealing with them in a sensitive, effective and polite manner. You will also need a full manual driving licence.
We want our coaches to be empowered and able to lead classes and work alone in the future, therefore we provide lots of opportunities for ongoing development. All team members are developed towards their APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) assessment and ongoing membership is paid for. Caring Dads exists to change current practice to better include fathers in efforts to enhance the safety and well-being of their children. The practitioner will work directly with fathers with an aim to improve relationships with their children, families, and co-parents/carers. This will include promoting the service to a range of teams across Hampshire and Southampton, to generate programme referrals. You will work closely with Hampton Trust domestic abuse perpetrator service to identify client suitability for the Caring Dads programme.
As the Caring Dads Practitioner, you will be required to deliver the Caring Dads and Accredited Domestic Abuse Prevention Training (ADAPT) Programme. This includes one to one support and group work. Groups are delivered on weekday evenings; you will be required to deliver one group work sessions per week.
You will undertake treatment and risk assessments of individuals causing harm in their relationships; this includes active case/risk management of families living with domestic abuse. Although this position is based in Ashurst, you will be co-located into social work teams across Hampshire three days per week, with an aim to providing support and advice in identifying suitable families for the Caring Dads and ADAPT programme.

The Membership Engagement Officer (MEO) is a key role which inspires and engages our membership to be active and fulfil their role and purpose while remaining compliant with the Legion’s Membership handbook and policies. We are looking for an effective, diligent multi-tasker with excellent customer service and communication skills who can both support and challenge.
The MEO provides organisational support, advice and information to our members, and works closely with County Committees, membership central team staff and other departments. This a varied role which covers a range of duties from connecting and building relationships with Branches to compliance oversight and responding to membership queries.

We are looking for a Welsh speaking Funding Officer to join our team in Wales. This is a permanent, full-time post (open to a conversation on flexible working and job share)
Depending on your location and preference, you will be based in either the Cardiff or Newtown office. You are welcome to be based in the office full time, or a combination of home and office working. You will need to travel within Wales to work with community groups and charities, and to other offices across the UK to work with colleagues.
As a Funding Officer serving our Mid & West Wales region, (Bridgend, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Powys and Swansea) you will:
- Assess requests for funding and manage grants using local knowledge, best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making. By working closely with people and communities, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
- You will be responsible for supporting local people and communities in Ceredigion, and have a strong understanding of our vision, being able to adapt your approach to the wishes of the people you are working with.
- You’ll also need to support our stakeholders, helping them to make connections that will help them achieve their goals.
- You will be responsible for the pipeline of projects in Ceredigion, understanding and responding to the different needs of our customers by providing advice and considered feedback, and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations.
- Funding Officers will ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker.
- You will manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.
