Job description

Birthrights is the UK’s leading charity championing respectful, rights-based maternity care. We believe every woman and birthing person has the right to dignified, personalised care throughout pregnancy and childbirth.

As our Community Organiser you will play a key role in the development of Birthrights' Communities Imagine initiative. This work aims to centre the voices and radical imaginings of the communities who are most failed by the system. We want to create spaces for communities to share their visions of how maternity care can and should be and space to build support and take action so that ideas and strategies for change can flourish.  You'll listen to and engage creatively with communities to identify insights, and you will co create priorities for wider systems change in maternity care.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about advancing human rights in maternity care through reflective, compassionate and meaningful collaboration, and co-creation with those most affected. You will have a strong understanding of community-led and movement-building approaches, and knowledge of intersectionality and a commitment to anti-racist, inclusive, and rights-based principles.

You will have proven relationship-building and analytical skills, and familiarity with the UK charity, advocacy or policy sectors.

Application deadline: Wednesday 4th November at 12pm (noon)
