The District Administrator is the first port of call in the District office and acts as an essential point of contact for all 19 Circuits and their Churches within the District.
The District Administrator will work collaboratively with the Senior District Administrator and be proactive with good organisational skills.
The role will provide administration support in a number of areas to support the Senior District Administrator, with emails, setting up meetings, maintaining records and databases.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for incoming emails, telephone calls and meeting and greeting visitors.
- Accurate and effective use of information management systems including general office filing, electronic file management, scanning, archiving, databases, other electronic records, spreadsheets and hard copy paper records, regularly updating as required.
- Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, and forms.
- Assist with maintaining and updating the District Directory and databases.
- Assist with the administration for representative and presbyteral synod.
- Managing and ordering office supplies and research new deals and suppliers
- Maintaining office equipment, i.e. photocopiers and printers for smooth office functionality
- Communicate meetings and agendas to attendees. Take minutes when required and arrange lunches and refreshments.
- Assist with the management of the District Zoom accounts.
- Any other duties and responsibilities identified by the Chair and the Senior District Administrator as are within the capabilities and level of responsibility of the role in order to meet the needs of the District.

Our funds provide much needed income for a wide range of projects, including the fabric and repair of the iconic Minster itself, the training of apprentices in traditional heritage crafts and strategic initiatives such as the realisation of the Minster's new international Centre of Excellence for Heritage Skills and Estate Management.

We are offering an interesting and varied opportunity to support the work of the Connexional Team and the wider Methodist Church in delivering its strategic plan to make the best use of its property portfolio in local communities across the country and centrally.
Working alongside the Director and colleagues within the Property Support team, you will be providing support and management to Connexional property, particularly focussing on the Connexional manse portfolio and its resident ministers. Alongside this, you will lead on the communications and resourcing to the District Property Officer network and other relevant networks, across the Connexion.
You will also be a central Property Support team member assisting team colleagues within their specific areas of expertise including Listed Buildings and the Church’s net zero strategy. This could be through the provision of proactive support of and input into, relevant forms of guidance, advice, communications, training and good practice.
You will also support the Director in the administration of property grants and application received for replacement Projects under Standing Order 973.
About You
We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution to the work of the Property Support team and be equally comfortable collaborating in a team environment or under your own initiative. You will preferably have experience supporting a senior team within a property function and preferably have some experience in a property or project management type function.
As the role will underpin and contribute to supporting the team’s work with external colleagues, particularly the District Property Officer network, it is essential that you are comfortable in engaging with a range of stakeholders, and have excellent organisational skills, particularly in terms of resourcing and training.
