Title: Part Time Support Worker
Reference number:
43587
Hours: 7.5 - 37.5 Per Week
Location: Exeter
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £8.75 - £8.95 per hour

About the role
We are currently recruiting Support Workers to join our residential service in Exeter attracting a salary of £8.75 per hour, & £8.95 for Weekends. This will be on a shift pattern generally working either 8am-3pm or 3pm-10pm, however we can be flexible.

We have a number of full time and part time roles available so please do let us know what hours you are available to work.

We are centrally located in Exeter with great transport links.

As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible.

Our service in Exeter supports 9 individuals with a variety of needs and a wide age range. The individuals we support live full and active lives so every day is different. You could be watching the football, going to the beach, support them to go on holidays or going shopping and running errands!

Sense also supports people to take part in some of our amazing arts and wellbeing activities – from dance to music making, swimming to rock climbing.

Being a Sense Support Worker can be the springboard to your future career - and to all sorts of opportunities and management roles.

About you
Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives.

Flexibility is needed as working times do vary and will include evenings and weekends; we will however provide you with a rota in advance so you can plan your life accordingly.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are able to communicate using BSL so if you have this skill; let us know!

About us
For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world.

We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.

Sense has a proven record of offering high quality, pioneering services.

Working as a Support Worker at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment. In addition, we have excellent training and development, the opportunity for you to join our Group Personal Pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement.

Our selection process aims to make sure that the role is right for you and you are right for us. It involves completing an online application form, taking part in a value based interview/assessment process and visiting one of our services.

Closing date: Monday 30 September 2019
Interview date: To be confirmed
