Richmond Borough Mind is a vibrant local charity that has been supporting and providing services for adults affected by mental health problems and their carers for over 60 years. 

We are excited to be looking for a Young Adults Peer Support Worker. You will have your own lived experience of mental ill health and be able to use this experience as well as your professional skills and knowledge, to support others.

With the expansion of our work in this area we aim to reduce waiting times, reduce the number of people going into crisis, address inequalities and support transitions from youth to adult services. We will be offering holistic and personalised care and support to service users and carers.

This role will carry caseload and deliver a range of support and person-centred interventions to meet these needs, which could include group support, one-to-one interventions and signposting where specialist advice is needed. Referrals could be young adults, careleavers, people currently under adult mental health services, or carers supporting people in the community.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about motivating and coaching individuals with mental health issues, and able to support people on their journey to recovery. As well as having an empathy with the core values of RB Mind, the successful applicants will have the skills to provide person-centred support, through one-to-one sessions and through facilitating groups. You will have an awareness of the boundaries we work within when supporting vulnerable adults. You should be enthusiastic and self-motivated, and must be able to work on your own initiative.

This is a partnership project with South West London St George’s Mental Health Trust (SWLStG), locally led by Richmond Borough Mind. The Commercial Operations Manager plays a crucial role in driving financial sustainability by generating income and managing commercial activities through venue hire, event planning, merchandise sales and securing strategic long-term partnerships, enhancing existing revenue streams, and identifying new opportunities.

The position will ensure the charity maximises its commercial potential while staying true to its mission and values.

About you

We are looking for someone who has at least 3 years' experience in an income generation role, including venue hire and event management, ideally in a charity setting. 

You will be organised and planful in your work with the ability to project manage activities with strong budget management skills.  You’ll have the ability to communicate well and work with a variety of individuals and will be able to negotiate and influence well.  You need to be comfortable working independently and able to manage multiple different projects at pace.

The role:

Our client works by permanently removing barriers facing disabled people and finding answers to the big issues facing them, alongside helping individuals. The Role

As a Caseworker, you will provide structured, tailored support plans based on holistic assessments for individuals affected by crime. You will make initial contact with victims via the telephone, tailor the support to the Victims preferences i.e. home visits or via conference calls, explain services and assess the impact of crime.

Your responsibilities will include developing, delivering, and monitoring safety and support plans, providing resources, interventions, and information to service users.

As a Caseworker you will:

• Manage a caseload of self-referred and referred service users, providing information and advocacy to help them navigate the criminal justice process.
• Conduct risk and needs assessments, ensuring each victim receives tailored support and information.
• Identify barriers to accessing services and work with partners to provide ongoing support.
• Keep accurate and confidential case records.

About You

You will have an understanding of the impact of crime on victims and experience in delivering services within a statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency setting.  Experience in managing a caseload and of completing risk and needs assessments would be beneficial. 

You will need:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent IT skills, able to use generic systems.
• Good organisational and time management skills, able to manage competing needs and priorities.
• To work effectively both as part of a team and independently
• To develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external organisations.

About the Role

Working with the team to offer 1-1 peer support to anyone accessing HMN. The Peer Support service provide tailored support for individuals to support their needs. This includes using different tools and techniques to help an individual improve areas of their life they may be struggling with. Having a lived experience of mental health issues or supporting someone who has is a key element to what makes this service so unique.

The Peer Support approach includes empathy, warmth, acceptance, authenticity and compassion. Peer Support is based on the recognition that there is no better person to support the path towards recovery, than someone who has walked a similar path as that person.

To meet client needs, and work to this personalised approach, we do support people out in the community, within their home, as well as in one of our Wellbeing Centres. Being able to drive and having access to your own vehicle (or equivalent) is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will need a personal understanding of mental ill health, either from your own lived experience or by caring for someone with a mental health condition and have awareness of issues in mental health service provision.

Peer Support Workers will also provide support within our Peer Support Groups, Peer Support Learning Sets and Peer Support Academy when needed.

Location:Hybrid (minimum of 3 days over 2 weeks in our London office)
Salary:£35,793 FTE. 
Terms:        28 hours per week (ideally Monday – Thursday)

Role Details 
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to gain experience in delivery of support services, volunteer management and project management.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: 

•Strong understanding of how to deliver person centred emotional and practical support. 
•Good project management skills and a desire to develop them further. 
•Desire to champion our work around tackling Health Inequalities.
•Confidence and skills to be a trusted, supportive manager of people.
•Experience of managing volunteers. 
•Experience and interest in developing digital support services in innovative and progressive ways, responding to changing needs.
•Organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
•Good understanding of EDI and DBS policies and processes.
•Understanding of social media and how to create content to engage diverse audiences and improve reach.

This role will require an enhanced DBS clearance

Recruitment Timeline 

•The deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 18th June 2025.  
•First round interviews will be held online between Tuesday 24th and Thursday 26th June. 
•Second round interviews will be held in person at our London Bridge office during week commencing Monday 7th July. 

We’re seeking a creative, dynamic and well-organised individual to lead on commercial event activity at Bradford Cathedral and support our broader public programming across music, arts & education – as well as our fundraising efforts. This role will also involve promoting the Cathedral to raise our profile and generate increased income through a multi-channel approach to marketing.

Bradford Cathedral stands on a site that has been a place of Christian worship for over 1,400 years – an ancient, sacred space for prayer and worship in the heart of Bradford city centre. We also attract many visitors from all over the UK and abroad who come to explore the history of this ancient building. As a venue, we offer a very special setting for all kinds of events including; concerts, music recitals, exhibitions, theatre and film. The Cathedral is a busy and exciting place to work and you will be joining us at an exciting time in our development as we continue to deliver on a new vision and strategy, and play an important part in Bradford’s year as UK City of Culture 2025.
