Primary purpose of the role:

WECare’s Finance Officer will support the Head of Finance in the day-to-day financial operations of the charity, ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported. The role will play a key part in maintaining financial transparency and strong financial controls across the organisation, particularly in managing donations, supplier payments, and internal financial processes. The successful candidate will bring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, while also being able to understand the wider goals of a mission-driven organisation and the importance of responsible stewardship of donor funds. As WECare continues to expand its programmes and impact, this role will support improvements to financial systems and processes, helping ensure the charity can scale effectively while maintaining strong financial governance.

The position is available for part-time 20-30 hours at the beginning with potential to grow to full time.

1. Financial Administration:

• Manage the finance inbox and respond to finance-related queries

We’re looking for an  enthusiastic and passionate experienced Corporate and Community Fundraiser to play a key role in the growth of our corporate and community income and develop new partners. This brand new role will develop fundraising opportunities with businesses and  community groups, helping to broaden our supporter base and strengthen long-term relationships. 

This is an fantastic opportunity for a motivated and proactive individual who is keen to make a tangible difference. This is the first time we’ve recruited a corporate and community fundraiser and there is significant opportunity to raise funds as our organisation grows. The issues of health and well-being across the population and food insecurity are urgent and our work directly addresses these critical issues. 

You’ll be a key part of the growth of Bags of Taste’s fundraising activity and will be able to make this your own role. We’re initially recruiting this role as a one year contract however we expect this to become a permanent role as funding allows and we’ll review this with the post holder after six months.

Key responsibilities

Corporate Fundraising

● Develop and implement a plan to raise funds from companies (this could be nationwide or within local project areas) with the Head of Fundraising and Comms

About the role

The role will play a critical role to help deliver an effective and high performing rent collection and recovery service in accordance with legislation, the organisation’s policies, set performance targets and customer satisfaction requirements. In collaboration with the Resident Services Manager to ensure that the organisation is compliant with all regulations and using robust policy and procedures and ensuring the right systems are in place to effectively manage the revenue and income streams and arrears of the organisation. This role will also manage the impact of welfare reform provisions, ensuring an effective advice and support service to residents to manage risk on revenue and income levels.

Responsibilities

• The role also oversees the best payment methods for all residents at sign up and this includes the setting up of standing orders or direct debits in line with the direct debit guarantee where applicable. To liaise with the Assistant Accountant who will oversee the administration of this.

• Production of performance and management reports, setting collection targets in consultation with the Resident Services Manager and proactively monitoring and reporting in respect of service delivery, performance indicators and targets.

• Maximise the collection of arrears by having regular meetings with the Team Managers; being proactive in contacting Support Workers or residents, providing them with clear instructions on information requests and repayment options.

• To work closely with other members of the Revenue team to manage resident rent and accommodation charge accounts and other former resident debts, on a regular basis identifying trends and patterns on individual accounts and then liaise with Support Workers or residents to rectify income issues and address arrears in line with policies and procedures.

• To maximise rent collection in line with targets by making arrangements to recover rent arrears and to enforce related tenancy conditions, ensuring residents’ rent accounts are monitored and prompt actions taken to prevent the accumulation of debt, and to authorise any rent account adjustments and refunds.

• Work closely with the Assistant Accountant to ensure that all residents Personal Contributions (PC) and Housing Benefit (HB) are calculated correctly on sign up and when there has been a change of circumstance

• Liaising with local authorities’ benefits teams and Government agencies on new benefit claims and issues in liaison with the Assistant Accountant and regular meetings together.

• Acting as the main first point of contact on queries around revenue and income management, policies, procedures and systems.

• Ensuring team have Welfare benefits training and are up to date with regulation. Working with Support Workers to ensure residents maximise their incomes by claiming all benefits due them

• To assist vulnerable residents with prompt and appropriate action and advice, and liaise with other agencies and departments to ensure that their needs are met.

• To be responsible for preparing timely and accurate reports on arrears cases, to attend Court and represent the organisation on individual arrears and possession cases when relevant, to prepare eviction reports and represent the organisation at evictions to ensure the successful repossession of properties.

• To maintain appropriate and accurate records to comply with statutory and service-wide reporting requirements on performance issues.

The Training & Events Officer is responsible for delivering comprehensive administrative support for training programmes and events at the bpf. The role encompasses coordinating the entire trainee journey—from application and onboarding to evaluations and reporting—ensuring efficient, compliant, and learner-focused processes. Duties include coordinating with managers and staff, handling programme administration, applicant and trainee communications, maintaining records, overseeing selection, and supporting event delivery. Some evening and weekend work will be required, with time off in lieu provided.

Hours: A minimum of three days per week up to full time

The organisation rescues high quality edible surplus food, from across the food industry and gets it to over 8,000 organisations across the UK who are working to strengthen communities and improve lives.

The charity manages seven depots across London, Suffolk, Merseyside and Hampshire and works with 16 network partners who operate a further 26 regional depots across the UK.

Over the next year our ambition is to rescue enough food nationally to provide nearly 200 million meals, turning an environmental problem into social good with measurable impact for people, planet, and the economy.

Purpose of the Job

Commercial Manager will identify, develop and manage top food partners relationships and strengthen existing business relationships with companies in the food industry, generating value for the partner and to secure growing and sustainable volumes of surplus food for the FareShare Network. For designated top food partners, you will be their day-to-day point of contact with regular face to face contact at all levels.

You will undertake structured, strategic account management, leading and coordinating FareShare’s engagement across our organisation. This will mean agreeing and executing a bespoke joint business plan with each account to get more food, money and strategic support. You will also feedback on ways that we can better support our accounts and improve our services to them. You will work directly and be on-site with top food partners to help identify and overcome the barriers which exist to giving surplus food to people in need as well as increasing money and strategic resource.

You will also be required to work closely with FareShare colleagues within FareShare and across the UK in our partner organisations in order to identify and understand opportunities for creating mutual and shared value.

Duties and Responsibilities

Partnership Management

• Contribute to the development of consistent, structured Joint Business plans with

designated accounts that take into account food, funding and other strategic initiatives to drive growth in food, money and other strategic resources

• Work on behalf of the account to develop and embed services relevant to the account and agreed through the joint business plan – e.g. employability or store level redistribution 

• Execute joint business plans and report internally and externally on progress.

• Research and understand your accounts, including key ESG initiatives, waste streams, key personnel within the organisation that will help drive its success and engage the relevant internal departments through both desked based research and face to face contact.

• Proactively drive account forwards and progress these relationships with regular on-site visits and linking FareShare exec with key contacts.

• Keep up to date with industry and charity insights and ensure this is reflected back strategically across ways of working and account management.

Project and Initiative Management 

• Be responsible for managing and communicating key projects and initiatives to increase food volumes and strategic value, securing support from a range of stakeholders within food partners and across the FareShare network.

Carers Centre Tower Hamlets is seeking a Carer Support Lead to deliver embedded carer support within the Barnsley Street Neighbourhood Mental Health Centre.

Barnsley Street is an innovative neighbourhood mental health pilot bringing together statutory and voluntary sector partners to deliver a more holistic and collaborative model of mental health support. The centre works with people experiencing mental health challenges and those around them, providing a welcoming community space where clinical care, peer support and community-based services operate alongside one another.

This role will ensure unpaid carers connected to individuals accessing Barnsley Street services are identified early, supported appropriately and connected to the help they need.

Unpaid carers often play a critical role in supporting people experiencing mental health challenges. This role strengthens that support by ensuring carers are recognised, informed and included wherever appropriate, helping to sustain safe caring arrangements and improve outcomes.

The postholder will provide one-to-one support, information and advocacy to carers connected to individuals accessing Barnsley Street services. They will also design and deliver carer-focused groups and help link carers into the wider support available through Carers Centre Tower Hamlets and local partners.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a strong understanding of the challenges faced by unpaid carers, particularly in mental health contexts

Currently undergoing a significant period of refocus and transition, the Foundation is looking for an experienced Board Support Executive to offer comprehensive and wide ranging administrative and logistical support to the Board of Trustees and the leadership team. This part-time (3 or 4 days per week) role is offered on an 18 months fixed term contract with flexible hybrid working.

This will involve scheduling and minuting high level board and committee meetings, ensuring action points are accurately recorded and followed up. Supporting colleagues to deliver a coherent strategic approach to governance across the organisation, this role will ensure Trustees have all of the data, guidance and assurance they need to deliver on the transition strategy. Diary management, note taking, travel arrangements and working closely with colleagues to provide solutions and insight will all be essential aspects of this role.

The successful candidate will have considerable experience of having provided comprehensive Governance and Trustee-level administrative and logistical support either in the charity, grant-making or philanthropic sectors, or equally in education, membership or social investment arenas. Highly organised, efficient and clear-headed, this person will be a calm, methodical and resourceful addition to the team. Able to see the bigger picture and use their initiative to provide support and effective coordination to the leadership team and trustees, this role will be crucial to oiling the works of the organisation.

Empathetic, collaborative and people driven by nature, this person will be able to innovate, advise and problem solve from a people, process and strategic planning perspective. Intellectually curious with outstanding communication skills, this person will also have an appreciation of the work of the Foundation and the communities it seeks to serve, and be on board with its current journey of transition.

Overall Purpose
 
The PR and Marketing Lead plays a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing the NHS Charity sector’s brand reputation across media and digital channels and to reach our key audiences. As a senior member of the Strategic Engagement team, the postholder will help shape and deliver a compelling narrative about the role, need and impact of NHS charities, working with our NHS charity members to ensure our story is told in an emotive and engaging way.
 
Working closely with the Director of Strategic Engagement, the Associate Director of Communications, Communications Lead, PR Manager and the wider team, the postholder will provide strategic leadership across PR, digital content, brand messaging and storytelling. They will oversee forward planning of media moments, manage day-to-day PR operations, guide digital content strategy, and coordinate events and campaigns that raise the profile of the charity sector and deepen engagement with supporters, partners and members.
The role combines strategic oversight, hands-on content leadership, and team management to ensure coordinated, impactful communications that support our organisational goals.
 
Overall Objectives

• Protect and enhance the NHS charity sector brand and reputation across PR and digital channels.
• Lead a cohesive media and marketing strategy that tells compelling stories of the impact and need of NHS charities to priority audiences.
• Ensure brand messaging and visual identity remain consistent and effective across channels and across the organisation.
• Oversee the gathering and use of powerful case studies that demonstrate sector impact, to support PR and marketing activities, working closely with the wider strategic engagement team
• Manage the PR Manager and Senior Communications Officer to maximise reach, engagement, and influence.
• Guide forward planning of proactive media opportunities and digital content.
• Oversee campaigns, events and communications activities that support strategic priorities.
• Work closely with the Communications Lead to ensure a collaborative, high-performing communications function aligned to shared goals.

 
Key Responsibilities

Media and Marketing Strategy

• Lead the strategic direction of PR, marketing and digital activity to support organisational priorities.
• Ensure an integrated approach across media, digital and brand, aligning messaging and creative.
• Coordinate with internal teams to develop forward plans for proactive media moments, using case studies, campaigns, thought leadership, reports and partnerships.
• Identify and mitigate risks that may impact reputation, coordinating responses with internal teams.

 
Brand and Messaging

• Oversee brand messaging and visual identity, collaborating with members to  galvanise engagement and reach and ensuring consistent application across all channels.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and external partners on tone of voice, key messages and visual standards.
• Ensure communications are inclusive, accessible and reflective of the communities we serve.

 
Storytelling and Content Leadership

• Oversee development of versatile, high-quality content including imagery, video, copy, and digital storytelling assets, working closely with the Communications Lead to take a strategic approach across audiences.
• Shape the forward content plan for digital channels, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
• Use data and insight to inform digital content strategy and continuous improvement.
• Lead and inspire the team to gather emotive case studies that bring to life the work and impact of NHS charities.

 
Media Operations

• Oversee a responsive, well-run press office managing enquiries, monitoring coverage and ensuring timely, high-quality responses.
• Support and guide the PR Manager to maximise media presence with target audiences.
• Build relationships with journalists and position NHS Charities Together and the wider NHS charity sector with our priority audiences.
• Oversee the team to manage our relationships with high profile supporters and celebrities.
• Act as a spokesperson where appropriate.

 
Digital Channels

• Line-manage the Senior Communications Officer to ensure our digital channels effectively support organisational objectives.
• Oversee planning and delivery across website, social media and email marketing.
• Ensure digital activity is insight-led, audience-focused and continually optimised through analytics.

 
Campaigns, Events and Activities

• Oversee delivery of campaigns and events, ensuring they are well planned, impactful and aligned to brand and messaging.
• Work with internal teams to maximise the communications and marketing potential of organisational activities.
• Provide strategic input and coordination across multi-channel campaigns.

 
Collaboration and Leadership

• Work closely with the Director of Strategic Engagement and the Associate Director of Communications and Engagement and the Communications Lead to develop shared priorities, workflows and team culture.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and clear direction to team members.
• Represent Communications across the organisation and with external partners when required.
