Job description

The Salvation Army are looking for an Impact Measurement Specialist to champion impact measurement across the organisation, supporting the development and implementation of a strategic plan for impact measurement and reporting.

This is a key role within the Research & Development Unit, building working relationships across multiple teams and disciplines to build upon existing systems and develop new and innovative ways of demonstrating impact. The Impact Measurement Specialist will be part of a research team that engages in a variety of research approaches and includes a knowledge management specialist.

As Impact Measurement Specialist you will develop appropriate and effective ways of enhancing TSA’s capacity to demonstrate outcomes and impact across the many different areas of its mission – including work with people experiencing homelessness, older people, children and families and people affected by modern slavery, as well as church-based community work, evangelism and discipleship. In addition to this the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing meaningful data which will improve services and demonstrate the transformative change to which TSA contributes as a church and faith-based organisation
  • Ensuring that impact reporting is user-friendly across a wide range of stakeholders, both internal to TSA and externally.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret stakeholders’ business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. Able to evidence demonstrable changes brought about through robust impact measurement, you will have experience of change management in a large organisation and of successful change in a high profile role. In addition you will have a proven track record of analysing and documenting the required quantitative and qualitative data and information.

Benefits: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (Pro rata for part-time); a contributory pension scheme; season ticket loan; an employee assistance programme

This is a permanent position based at our Headquarters currently at 101 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6BN.  In December 2021 we will be moving to our new, modern headquarters at Denmark Hill, London, SE5 8BQ.  This exciting new building will provide a more effective workplace to help The Salvation Army better achieve its mission.

Appointment subject to satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK
