About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Volunteer Coordinator to join our team covering Scotland. Your role will require you to oversee and run the volunteer programme, including recruitment and training of volunteers to support the delivery of contracts.  You will also be supporting the Operational Manager to coordinate and promote VoiceAbilitiy’s volunteer work in the area to meet the needs of the service and those that volunteer.

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of volunteering or, working with volunteers/ vulnerable people, or delivering advocacy.  You will have a knowledge of advocacy in health, social care and other settings and an understanding of the issues affecting adult social care, disability, autism, and mental health service users.

You should also understand safeguarding in relation to volunteering and the people we work with and the social values of volunteering and volunteer projects.

You will be responsible for ensuring that we select the best volunteers for our roles; ensuring that they receive appropriate training and development to ensure that we are delivering the service required by our clients.

A rare opportunity has arisen within the Charity for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to assist The Head of Finance in providing a comprehensive financial and admin function. This role will ensure the smooth day to day running of the Purchase Ledger for both Charity and its subsidiary Trading company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Matching and checking invoices against purchase orders/donor enrolment.

Recording all invoices received.

Setting up and maintaining supplier account details, including reconcilliation of Supplier statements.

About the Charity :

The County Air Ambulance Trust has been providing essential funds that help to save lives for over a quarter of century, registered as a charity in 1996, the Trust was originally set up to provide funding and support for air ambulances based in the Midlands.

From its regional beginnings it has become a National Charity and since 2009, following the launch of the HELP Appeal, the charity has been raising much needed funds to provide life-saving helipads where they are needed most. The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a pioneering Human Rights charity supporting refugees and asylum seekers who are the survivors of trafficking and torture, including gender-based and ‘honour-based’ violence. Since August 2020, Asylum Aid has been part of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Administration: You'll be integral to delivery of our handyperson service, exercise programmes for older people and decluttering service, managing enquiries, referrals, bookings, invoices and payments.

• Project Support: You'll help support our community projects, supervising activities where needed, assisting with admin and data collection, and being a point of contact for new and existing volunteers.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has empathy and can communicate effectively with a diverse range of service users, including older adults, those with disabilities, and those facing mental health challenges.

• Is a whiz with administration, has a keen eye for detail, and can work comfortably and effectively across multiple projects.

We are looking for Finance Coordinators to support our Finance Team in ensuring appropriate finance management, accounting, control and reporting.

You will assist in the day-to-day accounting operations in accordance with UK-Med’s policies and procedures,

Our ideal candidate will be able to support in processes financial transactions and provides technical support to the Field with the processing of financial transactions, and monitors compliance with applicable financial rules and regulations. The incumbent therefore keeps frequent contact with staff at various levels, including Country/Field Offices.

You will be comfortable working at pace and thrive on achieving challenging objectives and meeting rapidly changing demands.

Experience working internationally, particularly in humanitarian emergency response, is an advantage but not essential.

Full or part-time from 4 days a week

The Grants Officer will be a member of the Biomedical Grants and Policy Department. You will work with a Grants Manager to administer a portion of the Academy’s portfolio of grants schemes and activities.

You will act as a key point of contact for external liaison relating to the schemes. Working with the other Grants Officers and the rest of the Team, you will also help to develop and deliver events for Academy grant holders, as well as contribute to the Academy’s wider portfolio of work, and the delivery of our new strategy.

About the role – what you will be doing.

• Administer a portion of the Academy’s portfolio of grant schemes

1. Processing applications, determining eligibility, and coordinating peer review of eligible applications.
2. Convening and supporting the awarding panel, including preparation of committee papers, reports and financial information, as well as preparing feedback to applicants.
3. Managing the new grants once awarded, along with the Academy’s existing portfolio of grants.
4. Supporting the monitoring of awards and evaluation of grants schemes.
5. Analysing data and preparing papers, presentations and reports to demonstrate the impact of our schemes for internal and external use.
6. Maintaining accurate and up to date data on grants.
7. Researching and reporting on initiatives being undertaken by other UK funders.

• Liaise with stakeholders

1. Working with the Academy’s Fellowship, in their roles as peer reviewers, selection panel members and Chairs, honorary Officers and members of Council.
2. Acting as a key external point of contact for the Academy’s grants schemes, such as by providing advice to applicants, awardees, and host organisations.
3. Developing and maintaining working relationships with scheme funders.
4. Working with other Academy staff, particularly the rest of the Careers department and supporting the other Grants Officers in the delivery of their schemes, as required.

• Support the development and delivery of events for Academy grant holders, for example induction and scientific meetings for grant holders.​
• Contribute to the Academy’s wider portfolio of work, including drafting and providing data for papers for the Academy’s governing committees.
• Act as line-manager or project manager for one of the Academy’s interns, on a rotation basis and when the opportunity arises.
• Perform any other duties that might be reasonably expected, and which are commensurate with this level of post.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• A confident and friendly team player/collaborator (within and across teams)
• Interest in biomedical and health research
• Highly numerate
• Good IT skills, e.g., Microsoft suite and online databases
• Excellent organisational skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Previous relevant experience (desirable, but not essential)
• Ability to travel from time to time either in the UK or abroad, with occasional overnight stays

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with first class communication skills to join the CSP team in Scotland and support them in promoting the profession and empowering members.

Liaising with, and supporting, team members across the CSP, you will assist in running successful external influencing, campaigns and lobbying, as well as organising external events, and managing communications, member networks and training.

Educated to at least A Level standard, or with equivalent experience, you will have exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills, along with proven events management and office management experience. Experience of membership organisations and supporting lobbying or campaigning activities would also be an advantage.
