Job Purpose
Oceana is seeking an experienced Development Lead to curate, grow and diversify our rapidly expanding fundraising and partnerships portfolio. Working closely with our UK team and US-based international development team, you will be responsible for the collaborative stewardship of relationships with some of the world’s biggest environmental foundations and philanthropists.
You will help identify and drive new relationships, managing successful grant applications with trusts and foundations in the UK, and cultivating new fundraising streams. You will have a strategic mindset along with a meticulous attention to detail. Fostering exemplary relationships with diverse partners is central to the role and critical to our success. You should be experienced in handling competing priorities, delivering exceptional funding applications and reports, and providing updates with precision and confidence. You will also have a passion for growing and diversifying income streams and converting new interest into long-term, sustainable, support.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and People, you will work closely with our teams, and the global development department, to secure the sustainable resources Oceana UK needs to deliver further impact at this crucial time for our ocean. The role will also help Oceana maximise opportunities to deliver policy victories for UK seas for many years to come and strengthen our work globally.
You will be a self-starter, with a broad range of previous experience, and the ability to develop and manage your priorities in this new role. You will be comfortable working independently and as part of a small team. The position will be hybrid, with 2 days per week from home and 3 days per week based in Oceana’s office in Paddington, London or in Newquay, Cornwall. Occasional travel will be required to meet team members and stakeholders in geographically diverse locations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the development of a UK specific fundraising strategy.
- Manage relationships and reporting to existing funders alongside the international development team and Executive Director. This will primarily be with trusts and foundations, and individual philanthropists.
- Identify and develop new opportunities with trusts and foundations.
- Manage successful grant applications and budgets, co-ordinating and collaborating with the international development team.
- Work closely with the finance and campaigns team to ensure all relevant stakeholders are consulted in grant applications and reporting.
- Manage and deliver timely reporting, communications and updates to funding partners and stakeholders.
- Oversee and develop other existing UK income streams, including mass giving.
- Identify, develop and manage additional UK income opportunities, including with smaller trusts and foundations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance and People, and international development and budgeting teams to manage the income forecast and grant financial reporting.
- Maintain appropriate development records and database for all UK activity.
- Develop and manage key fundraising and partnerships events.
- Work with Executive Director to develop our outreach with funders at international events.
- Attend and represent the UK in monthly development meetings with the international team.
- Design and manage the UK’s development budget.
Candidate Requirements:
Education and work experience:
- Extensive professional experience in fundraising and development, ideally in the ocean or the environmental space.
- Good professional relationships with environmental trusts and foundations
- Demonstrable experience in managing successful multi-year grant applications and budgets with trusts and foundations.
- Strong experience of managing charitable foundation relationships and delivering detailed and timely reports, and communications to add value where required.
- Experience or working with campaigns teams to develop funding applications.
- Experience of managing philanthropist and major individual donors.
- Experience in prospecting, managing and analysing research on fundraising opportunities.
- Experience in co-developing and diversifying fundraising strategies (mass giving, digital, appeals, etc)
- Clear experience of in co-developing and diversifying fundraising strategies, and writing strategic plans, and contributing to planning and budgeting processes.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Demonstrable experience of networking and relationship development with funders.
- Proficiency at understanding, distilling and communicating complex scientific issues and detailed campaigns for fundraising purposes.

About this role
The Senior Business Development & Fundraising Coordinator will work as part of the Fundraising and business development Team at RedR. Their role is to work across all income streams within business development and fundraising, with a focus on running the business development and fundraising team’s day to day work, supporting the Associate Director of Programmes and Business Development in meeting BD and fundraising targets, draft high quality bids – particularly to institutional funders-, and nurturing relationships individual and corporate donors, as well as trusts and foundations.

Flint House Police Rehabilitation is a charity dedicated to offering rehabilitation services to ill or injured serving and retired police officers suffering from a wide variety of physical and mental health conditions. With Flint House being a dedicated space with a range of supporting facilities and set across 20 acres of ancient woodland, they support over 3,000 police officers every year.
As the Fundraising Officer you will be responsible for cultivating and stewarding existing and new individual donors. Focused on acquisition of new donors and also upscaling existing support, this role will deliver excellent supporter stewardship and engagement. Working with the Fundraising and Engagement Manager, this role will also support in identifying new donors across other income streams including, major donor, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations and more.
To be successful as the Fundraising Officer, you will have experience of individual giving fundraising and be able to demonstrate excellent supporter care. This person will be able to create engaging plans to secure new donors and retain existing support. They will be creative and keen to work with a small team to grow income generation.

St Catherine’s College seeks to appoint a new Development Executive ahead of the development and launch of a major new capital campaign. The Development Executive will be a key member of the St Catherine’s College Development Team, working hand in glove with the Development Director and Deputy Director in particular, to advance our major gifts programme.
This post is full time, for a three year fixed term in the first instance.
The salary is in the range £36,024 - £44,263 per year.
The post holder will be personally responsible for:
- identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors and prospects with the capacity and propensity to make significant (£25,000 - £500k+) financial contributions to College;
- identifying the next generation of major donors, building relationships, securing five, six and, in time, seven figure gifts, and driving up philanthropic income in the medium and longer term;
- focusing on individuals, foundations, and, in some cases where relevant, corporations, with the potential to make transformative gifts.
This role has arisen at a pivotal time for St Catherine’s College; as we prepare for a major campaign for an ambitious estates project. Working with the Director and Deputy Director, this new role will be vital in developing, launching and closing out this landmark campaign and ensuring that the College capitalises on the momentum created to launch into its next philanthropic phase.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individuals to join our fundraising team as a Supporter Engagement Officer. In this role, you will play a vital role in building and growing relationships with our individual donors and managing digital campaigns and challenge events to help the team raise as much funding as possible to support people experiencing homelessness across London.
About the role:
As the Supporter Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for the stewardship of new and existing donors to becoming regular Single Homeless Project supporters. Working closely with the Supporter Engagement Lead and alongside the fundraising team, you will contribute towards the delivery of achieving SHP's overarching vision of a society where everyone has a place to call home and the chance to live a fulfilling life.
In your role, you will be responsible for building and delivering a successful supporter engagement campaigns focusing on:
- Building and growing relationships with our fantastic supporters throughout their journey with Single Homeless Project.
- Supporting with the management and delivery of a portfolio of fundraising events.
- Developing and delivering engaging digital campaigns and content through our online portfolio of products and emergency appeals.
- Working with internal SHP departments to create new concepts for supporter engagement.
- Stewarding new and existing donors to become regular supporters of Single Homeless Project.
