About the Role
We’re looking for an Outreach Housing Support Worker to join our team and provide high‑quality housing advice and support to young people aged 18–24.
This is a flexible role that responds to the needs of young people in the community, helping them navigate housing challenges and avoid or move on from homelessness.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll have a varied and rewarding role, including:
- Delivering high-quality housing advice and guidance to young people aged 18–24
- Supporting individuals to understand their housing rights, options and responsibilities

We are looking to recruit a Senior Welfare Rights and Housing Advisor to join Camden Disability Action’s Advice Service.
You will have at least two years’ experience providing specialist-level welfare rights advice and experience of providing housing casework. The role involves identifying opportunities for income maximisation, supporting clients to ensure benefits are correctly assessed, and assisting with mandatory reconsiderations and appeals. You will also support Disabled people with housing-related issues, including homelessness prevention and access to suitable accommodation.
You will work holistically, managing complex cases and advocating for clients across statutory services, specialist advice agencies, and community organisations. The role provides social welfare rights advice, advocacy, and casework support within CDA’s remit and does not involve the provision of regulated legal services.

About the role:
Some services need more than strong management — they need a leader who can hold the whole picture, set the standard and keep young people’s futures at the centre when the work is busy, fast-moving and high stakes. As Service Manager for our Camden Young People’s service, you will lead a high support accommodation service made up of 4 units, supporting 31 young people and providing overall leadership to a team of around 20 staff.
You’ll be responsible for the safe, effective and high-quality delivery of the service, bringing confident oversight across safeguarding, housing management, risk, performance, quality, staffing and day-to-day operations. You’ll lead with presence and purpose, supporting your team to deliver consistent, personalised and trauma-informed support that helps young people build stability, independence and stronger future pathways.
You’ll also play a key role in strengthening partnership working across Camden, including with local authorities, commissioners and partner agencies. From referrals and move-on pathways to Ofsted readiness, data, young people’s feedback and continuous improvement, you’ll make sure the service is not only well run, but constantly learning, improving and ambitious for the young people it supports. About you:
- You bring strong experience managing accommodation-based, residential, youth, housing, social care or similar services, with the confidence to lead a sizeable team and hold service-wide standards.

What you will be doing
As Deputy Supported Housing Manager, you will play a key role in the running, quality, and impact of our services. Working closely with the Supported Housing Manager, you will help lead a safe, supportive, and high‑performing environment where young people can thrive.
Service Provision
You will support the Supported Housing Manager with the day‑to‑day delivery of the service, ensuring we meet all requirements set out in the service specification and remain fully compliant with Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) and Ofsted standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the full referral, interview, and induction process for all bedspaces and ensuring that every resident understands their Occupancy Agreement and House Rules.
- Maintaining the quality, safety, and presentation of the accommodation by working closely with our Housing and Property Services team to coordinate estate inspections, health and safety risk assessments, repairs, and the timely turnaround of void rooms.
- Supporting effective income collection across the service, working with the Rents team to build and maintain a positive rent‑payment culture among residents.
Leadership and People Management
You will directly line‑manage members of the staff team, ensuring their practice, professionalism, and development reflect our high standards. You will:
- Provide coaching, guidance, and clear expectations to ensure staff feel confident, supported, and motivated in their work with young people.
- Create a team culture rooted in creativity, consistency, and best practice, ensuring staff are equipped to empower young people to reach their goals while maintaining appropriate and safe boundaries.

Gareth Stacey House and Lansworth House are our 24-hour supported housing services in central Brighton and Hove offering high levels of housing-related support for young people aged 16-25 with multiple and complex needs. The services have 15 and 20 bedspaces respectively, with shared communal facilities; the services support young people to manage their daily living activities in areas including finances and budgeting, developing life and work skills, and managing self-care.
We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures.
We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team, who will hold a caseload of residents and meet with them weekly to build a support plan. Main areas of responsibilities are:
Housing and Compliance
- Support young people to understand and comply with their occupancy agreements, including coaching them to meet house rules and responsibilities as part of preparing for successful independent living.
- Promote a strong rent‑payment and credit culture, encouraging residents to maintain regular payments and understand their financial obligations.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits, and statutory requirements affecting young people, ensuring practice aligns with current housing law and organisational policies.
- Respond promptly and effectively to breaches of agreement, including rent arrears, antisocial behaviour, or property damage, using restorative approaches where appropriate and working collaboratively with the wider team.
Coaching and Engagement
- Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
- Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community.
- Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries.
- Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance).
There will be times when lone working will be a requirement for this role, but you will get to know the team and service, along with an induction and training prior to starting on a rota.

- Ability to de-escalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour appropriately.

Key responsibilities
- Support, advise and steer communities, and town and parish councillors from their initial interest in providing affordable housing, through scheme inception and pre-development phases to completion, with the aim of increasing the speed of schemes through the pre-development phase.
- Assist communities to identify the nature and extent of affordable local housing need in their community including, where appropriate, through a Housing Needs Survey.
- Assist communities to identify a deliverable site for development of affordable housing and/or secure affordable housing as part of market led schemes.
- Build collaborative partnerships with key partners to provide a clear pathway to a successful planning application and delivery. Partners may include, but are not limited to, local communities, parish councils, housing association staff, officers from the Local Authorities (including in their role as providers of affordable housing) and local developers.
- Provide project management including regular reporting on project progress against workplan and housing pipeline.
Key requirements
- Experience of building and sustaining relationships within and across organisations and sectors, and working collaboratively.
- A highly capable communicator in person and in writing. Able to engage the public, local politicians, and officials on their own terms, whilst remaining independent and trusted.
- Experience delivering research, strategic assessment & planning, data analysis, and evaluation reports.
- Excellent organisational, planning and management skills, with strong attention to detail.

Housing operations and tenancy management
- Lead the day-to-day landlord function across supported housing services, keeping standards consistent and addressing issues before they escalate.
Safeguarding and Risk Management
- Take responsibility for ensuring housing management activity actively identifies and responds to safeguarding risks, including where concerns emerge through non-engagement, property condition, or repeated enforcement action.
Property, Estates and Void Management
- Oversee a planned programme of estate inspections, tenancy audits, and housing-led health and safety checks, ensuring actions are clearly recorded, owned, and followed up where standards fall short.
Compliance and Resident Safety
- Take day-to-day responsibility for housing-led compliance activity, working closely with Property and Compliance teams to make sure statutory requirements are met in practice, not just on paper.
Leadership and Team Management
- Line manage Housing Officers, setting clear expectations around performance, accountability, and professional conduct, and addressing issues promptly where standards slip.
Cross-Departmental Coordination
- Act as the main operational link between Housing, Property, Compliance, Care and Support, and Income teams, ensuring issues are addressed collectively rather than passed between services.
Customer Involvement and Tenant Experience
- Promote meaningful resident involvement in housing services, ensuring opportunities for engagement are accessible and appropriate to the needs of supported housing residents.
Performance, Quality and Assurance
- Use performance data, case audits, complaints, and service insight to identify emerging risks, recurring issues, and gaps in housing management practice.

About the role
We are seeking a Rural Housing Enabler to join our friendly team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in increasing the supply of affordable housing in Suffolk. You will engage with communities and provide a range of support, from raising awareness of the need for affordable housing, facilitating initial discussions, gathering of evidence of need and liaising with other stakeholders. You will assist them throughout the journey of developing their own local housing schemes.
In this role, clear communication is essential. You’ll be presenting to a range of audiences, and working in partnership with communities / community leaders, parish councils, district and county authorities, landowners, developers, housing organisations, and other partners to bring forward affordable rural housing projects in Suffolk. Good IT skills, and the ability to build strong relationships are crucial.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:
· Excellent working knowledge of the issues affecting housing in Suffolk, and other issues affecting rural communities
· Experience of working in supporting rural communities thorough consultation for affordable and/or community led housing
· A good knowledge and understanding of the principles of quality community consultation.
· Working with local authorities, parish councils, housing associations and similar organisations

This is a senior, externally facing post reporting to the Chief Executive. You'll also play a part in shaping Druv Homes, AirS's emerging housing association.
What you'll be doing
- Guiding community groups through all stages of the housing development process — from vision and site identification through to planning, funding, and scheme delivery
- Advising on site selection, RP partnerships, planning applications, S106 agreements, and funding strategies (both capital and revenue)
- Building and managing relationships with a wide range of partners — communities, RPs, local authorities, planners, developers, and agents
- Supporting communities to access funding and drafting bids where needed
- Overseeing professional advisers (architects, engineers, etc.) commissioned by community groups

Hours: Monday to Friday. Generally no weekends or evenings, though there may be times client support needs or appointments mean these hours will be required.
Must be a driver with own car for use in role as travel is an essential part - we cannot offer interviews to non-drivers. As such, must have business insurance for use of own vehicle during working hours. Mileage will be paid for client and support related travel.
