Programme and Projects Manager
We are seeking a Programme and Projects Manager to join a fantastic team at the only environmental charity dedicated to looking after the Aire and its tributaries.
You will join a friendly and committed team of experts passionate about improving the River Aire and the streams that feed it.
This is a full time hybrid-working role, but part-time working will also be considered.

The Role
Working with the Trust Manager, you will help create a sensible balance between the achievable and the ideal and will be the first port of call for the Trust’s talented and dedicated staff, supporting them to deliver a range of projects within budget and on time.
You will be responsible for planning, progressing, and auditing the trust’s work programme, coordinating others' skills, and balancing the Trust’s varied workload.
Travel across the Aire Catchment in Bradford, Craven and Leeds for events, meetings, and remote site visits may be required to support project delivery in this role, so a driver's license and access to your own vehicle are essential. The role may require working outdoors, often in locations with difficult access and sometimes in poor weather conditions.
About You
We are seeking and organised, thorough, calm individual who can keep abreast of all work streams and keep tasks and budgets on track. Your strong financial and leadership skills will support environmental experts in improving the environmental quality, flood risk, and quality of life along the river.
We’re looking for:
- Demonstrable track record of managing a concurrent mix of projects to achieve overlapping and discrete aims.
- Strong financial management skills and the ability to manage multiple budgets to achieve maximum value.
- The ability to communicate effectively with integrity, tact and diplomacy.
- Project management experience including report writing and budget management experience
- Strong track record of problem-solving between conflicting priorities.
Experience working for a small charity is desirable. As is some interest and experience in the environmental sector.

About the role
This role will provide financial and operational leadership and management for CCLC particularly focussed on the Legal Practice Unit and the Migrant Children’s Project but with support for the Child Law Advice Service and Coram International where required. Managing a small finance team, the role will hold primary responsibility for core financial functions within CCLC including legal aid billing and management and tracking of grant and other charitable funding. Through systematic and efficient financial management, the post holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial sustainability. The role will act as a key point of contact with Coram’s central finance team and a range of internal and external stakeholders on financial matters.
The role will also oversee the smooth running of the London and Colchester offices through line management of operations and administrative staff.
The role would suit a high organised and efficient business support professional with experience of financial management within the legal or charity sector. In particular, candidates with experience of legal billing and more specifically, civil legal aid billing, would be welcomed.
This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the finance and operations team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period (to be negotiated with the successful candidate).The finance team are split between the London and Colchester offices and the post holder should expect some travel to both locations. The large majority of the legal and policy team are based in London and as such regular (at least twice weekly) presence in our London office will be expected. However, on other days the candidate could be based in the London or Colchester office.
Whilst this is a full-time position, we will consider requests for part-time working (28 hours per week minimum) and we will endeavour to offer some flexibility with days and hours to be agreed.

Responsibilities include:
Leadership, Strategy and Governance
- To be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind our strategic plan.
- To contribute to strategic discussions on the future direction of the organisation.

- To develop and execute an annual fundraising strategy: building a sustainable portfolio consisting of grants and donations from individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations, to ensure long-term sustainable funding of activities.
- To research and prospect future funders.

Donor stewardship & reporting

Communications

About the Role
There are 1.4 million primary-aged children growing up in poverty in the UK, and we are currently only working with a fraction of them. We have grown rapidly over the last few years and are now looking to recruit a Fundraising Manager who can help take our fundraising work to the next level.
The Fundraising Manager will work with the team to drive Learning with Parents’ fundraising strategy. This role will primarily sit within our Capacity Building and Standards (CB&S) function but will work closely with our Innovation and Practice (I&P) and Advocacy and Communications (A&C) functions.
The CB&S function aims to build capacity both inside and outside of public institutions to embed the processes, skills, structures and cultures needed for effective public participation in decision-making. The I&P function is responsible for the deliberative, dialogic and participatory projects and processes that we run. This role will have a thematic focus on public engagement in decision-making within the science, technology and data sectors. Candidates do not need an educational or work background in this sector, although it would be useful, but we would expect the successful candidate to take a keen interest in these topics.

Science and tech represent policy areas where citizen engagement on both principles and practice is vital and where public engagement can also open the door to broader deliberative democratic interventions and feedback loops. Successful candidates will be responsible for all aspects of operational management and will be financially literate and accountable for the overall financial position of Trinity. The role has ultimate, but not direct, responsibility for our live performance and cinema programme and creative engagement activities, executive responsibility for which will be delegated within and outside the organisation.
