About you
We are looking for a Scientific Events Manager, on a part-time basis, who will be responsible for the development of the Society’s Annual Conference and other events, in line with the Society’s strategic objectives, bringing together members and delegates from across the breadth of microbiology. This role involves working with the Events Operations Manager and Head of Scientific Programmes to ensure an impactful and sustainable annual events programme that enables members and delegates to strengthen their existing relationships and gain access to new communities, maximising networking opportunities.

The Scientific Events Manager will work across multiple departments to plan and deliver the Society’s Annual Conference and other events by develop branding, promotions and other opportunities to raise event awareness and build engagement with key stakeholders, industry and other partners and fostering the Society’s relationships with them.

The postholder will have experience in organising and managing scientific conferences or large scale events, and setting and managing budgets, with excellent communication skills, written and oral, to build effective relationships with key individuals at all levels using effective negotiation techniques.
