ACCT UK launched its new name and brand in 2021 and we are now seeking a highly motivated Marketing Manager to continue the delivery of our engagement programme. We are looking for you to bring enthusiasm, personal credibility, discretion and sensitivity in promoting the charity to its beneficiaries and a wide range of stakeholder groups.
As ACCT UK’s Marketing Manager, you will be key to helping the wider community to understand our charity and how it is distinct from the Army Cadets, a youth organisation we are closely linked to.
This is a rewarding and flexible role. The position is a permanent full time post (40 hours per week) which can be either home or office based. The successful applicant will be required to travel occasionally. The full time starting annual salary for this post is £34,190.73.
Our charity
ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people. We want to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and be inspired through their Army Cadet experience. We want to develop the youth leadership and training abilities of adult volunteers in the Army Cadets.
Working alongside our strategic partner, the British Army, we help young people to access cadet activity with the Army Cadets through a range of activities including fundraising, grant making, developing new resources and direct support to the Army Cadets.

Key responsibilities:
● Work with the Head of Communications to develop and deliver content, media opportunities and campaigns that help us raise awareness of our cause and achieve our wider strategic goals.

● Oversee content creation for our social media and online platforms, How to Guides and marketing materials, ensuring brand consistency and appropriate audience targeting.
● Ensure any data collection via our website or other platforms is compliant with GDPR and any related or superseding legislation.
● Line manage and mentor two team members, with a commitment to ensuring their career progressions.
Skills & experience:
● You have interest and belief in our mission to improve kids’ health through improving food and food education in schools.
● 3+ years prior experience in a similar role.
● You are organised, methodical, strong on detail, and able to map out deadlines and plan ahead.
● Ideally you’d have some experience of line management, a ‘must’ is a commitment to developing the team.
● You have proven success designing and delivering communications plans and campaigns.
● You have experience successfully pitching stories and/or collaborations to media, journalists and influencers.
● You understand how to create engaging content - both written and visual.
● You see opportunities for coverage and know how to make them happen.
● You’re up to date on media and communications trends and able to stay ahead of the curve.
● You’re capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
● You’re confident enough to deputise for the Head of Communications when required, such as deciding which reactive media queries to pursue, presenting at events and crisis management if required.
● You can constructively critique the work of others with an emphasis on learning and continuous improvement.
● You have excellent writing skills and a confident command of English.
● Experience of education media would be nice but not required.

The recruitment process

About the role
As Crisis’ Senior Media Officer, you will play a key role in delivering stand-out media campaigns that inspire the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. You will help to build Crisis’ profile by bringing to life our work, demonstrating how we end people’s homelessness for good through education, training and support with housing, employment, and health.
Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their story and empower them to do so. You’ll help create hard-hitting news stories that engage our audiences and raise awareness of some of Crisis’ biggest organisational campaigns including our annual Christmas appeal. You will also help make the most of reactive opportunities that come through to our press office and help build relationships with key journalists.
About you
Due to an promotion in the team there is an opportunity to join our News and Media team for up to 10-month on a fixed term contract. This time period will cover the general election and Crisis’ flagship Christmas appeal, it will be an exciting role at a busy time.
The Senior Media Officer will lead the team’s work on major legislation before the election, including the Criminal Justice Bill. They will support campaign work around the election, lead on media outreach around Crisis’ retail operations and manage the crucial media day for Crisis at Christmas.

The Senior Media Officer will design and implement media strategies that help guide the public narrative around homelessness and ultimately help create significant policy and social change.
The Senior Media Officer will line manage a Media Officer, overseeing their work and personal development. The Senior Media Officer will also play a full part in a busy reactive press office, setting up national level interviews and liaising with senior producers.
To be successful in this role you will have:

LSO Discovery is seeking a proactive, creative, thoughtful and highly organised individual to manage and support projects within the Community programme. With creative communities sitting at the heart of the Arts Council England’s strategy, the role will be key to supporting the LSO’s strategic work in the community. Working across a range of projects, the role will allow for the individual to both support the Community Senior Projects Manager as well as take a lead on managing a few of their own projects. The programme areas covered in this role include:
- Inclusion: through LSO Create, delivering creative sessions for neurodiverse, disabled and non-disabled adults, as well as access to LSO open rehearsals and planning/delivery of the Relaxed Lunchtime concert series at LSO St Luke’s.
- Health and Wellbeing:
- Hospitals programme delivered in partnership with NHS trusts, including projects with children, parents, older adults and NHS staff.

The Strategic Health and Care Programme Lead is a part time role (0.6 FTE). The role requires hybrid working, with the flexibility of office, home and some travel.
This new and exciting leadership opportunity in the VCSE sector in Sussex will develop its strategic role as a partner in the emerging health and care integrated structures to reduce health inequalities and improve population health for people living in Sussex.
The postholder will work closely with a team of three Place based Health and Care Programme Managers (East Sussex, Brighton and Hove, West Sussex) to develop and enable strong relationships to support the VCSE in its preparation and response to the developing strategic commissioning approaches in the health and care sector, enabling the statutory sector to work collaboratively with the range of VCSE providers at neighbourhood, place and system level, recognising the breadth of the VCSE sector, the multiple funding arrangements and the introduction of the new health and care structures.
The postholder will work with the SVLA Chair, team and VCSE members, to develop its strategic ambition, structure and relationship with the Sussex Health and Care system. The work will include developing health and care partners understanding of the local VCSE eco system and developing and embedding the principles of co-design, co-production, and strategic commissioning within the commissioning and funding cycle that will drive improved population health outcomes for the integrated care system.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and have strong leadership experience and understanding of the needs, complexities and challenges faced by the VCSE sector, NHS and local government partners with excellent knowledge and understanding of the strategic national and local context and key drivers across the breadth of local health and care structures. You will bring significant experience and understanding of strategic commissioning and the range of funding models and mechanisms to the team and be comfortable working in an environment of transformational change.
You will also hold a track record in engaging, influencing, and securing shared ownership to enable a collaborative vision to be realised along with experience of working in rapidly changing environments. Experience of developing and managing a varied range of projects with demonstrable success in delivery and budget management of simple projects, along with some experience of governance either through Board or Committee membership are a must.

We are looking for a generalist HR adviser to work with the Head of People to deliver the people strategies, working in areas including Employee Relations, Change Management, Learning and Development, HR Processes and Policies, Payroll, HR Administration, Succession Planning, Talent Planning, Talent Acquisition and Employee Engagement. Depending on the successful candidates experience and preferences they be assigned a lead role for some of the above areas of responsibility.
TAWS is an organisation in which change is a constant, and the successful candidate will need to be able to prioritise and change priorities very quickly. In a small HR team you will have the opportunity to gain experience in lots of the components of the HR machine. The HR Adviser will deputise for the Head of HR with the aspiration to be their successor in due course.
This role will be part of a team which currently consists of a HR Administrator, Volunteering Administrator and Head of People. The headcount for TAWS is circa 120. We will actively consider part-time applicants and flexible working.
Main duties
- Work with our managers and leaders to deliver their people priorities. Aligning with the core TAWS values
- Support and coach Managers with ER matters, but ultimately work with managers to design systems and processes that encourage managers to take ownership of managing their teams
- Support managers and all employees to take ownership of their own performance, careers and learning using and enhancing TAWS systems.
- Produce and assist with analysis of people data and metrics
- Work with managers to identify and develop their talent and support succession and talent management processes.
- Support the Head of People in the handling of full employee lifecycle administration – including on-boarding, flexible working requests, family friendly issues, absence management, contractual issues, administration of the HRIS (currently Sage), benefits administration, occupational health, DBS checking maintenance, off-boarding and whatever else may appear.
- Work with the Head of HR and managers in respect of people related projects which may be initiated from time to time.
- Work with the Finance team with regard to payroll delivery (extent depending on experience).
- Deliver Diversity and Inclusion interventions to raise awareness, encourage open and honest conversations and allow our people to be themselves at work
- Work with people managers to support them to identify, build relationships with and attract future talent
Knowledge, skills and experience
Good general operational HR experience – CIPD level 5 (or equivalent experience). Experience in 3rd sector and/or a SME organisation would enable you to understand quickly the challenges and the opportunities. But what is more important is that you have the confidence to take responsibility and the agility to change in direction.

- Able to roll your sleeves up and get involved – but ensuring that the longer term people agenda outcomes is focussed on

Duties and responsibilities
The Income Supervisor will manage all transactions relating to income, assisted by a Finance Assistant (income support), and working closely with the Senior Finance Assistant, and Finance Assistant (payments support). The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the work delegated to the Finance Assistant (income support), reporting to, and supporting the Financial Controller.
Experience required
Proven experience in high level communication skills, both verbally and in writing are essential plus a proven ability in developing positive relationships with organisations and individuals across diverse cultures. Understanding of accounts to trial balance, excellent reconciliation skills, knowledge of accounting software and supervisory experience. A studier or part-qualified accountant is desirable, but a good level of general education and experience and a keen interest in aspects of the role would also be welcomed.
Conditions
The post is graded C1 which covers steps 14 to 19 on the ITF salary scale, with a salary range of £49,787.00 per annum plus an annual bonus of £4,148.92. Annual leave will be 22 days per annum pro-rata in the year of joining, rising to 23 days in the second year.
