→ Extensive experience of working in statutory and/or trusts fundraising, including successfully applying for grants in excess of £50,00 to £100,000+

→ Demonstrable track record of high quality bid writing and production that meet funder requirements

→ Project management experience

→ Substantial experience interpreting and translating material into compelling content for successful proposals

→ Demonstrable strong project and account management abilities

→ Confident in the development of budgets to meet proposal requirements

→ Strong problem solving ability and confidence to bring in new ideas and drive them forward

→ Experience of writing and communicating for different mediums and channels and applying writing and branding requirements to reports and documents

→ Awareness and understanding of legislation and best practice, with good knowledge of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and Fundraising Regulator, in relation to fundraising and data protection

This role will provide strategic oversight and direction for Lepra’s institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets. Line managing and leading the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser in the delivery of the trust fundraising target, and working with the programmes teams in the UK, India and Bangladesh to identify and develop applications to statutory sources and major trusts, leading on the development of detailed project proposals.

We have just completed developing our new multi-year global strategy to take us through to 2030, and to guide our work into the future; and we are using our Centenary year in 2024 as a springboard to launch us into our new strategic period. 2024 is very much a year for looking and planning ahead.

The salary for this position is £28,723 (FTE £35,904) – Manager Level, part time (28 hours – 4 days per week). We have fully embraced flexible working and the role can be either fully remote, hybrid or fully based at our Colchester offices. Headway East London is a charity supporting people affected by brain injury. Working across 13 London boroughs we offer specialist support and services for survivors and their family. We offer therapies, advocacy, family support and community support work alongside our day service: a community venue where people can make the most of their abilities and interests.

About the Role

We are looking for a Day Service Co-ordinator to join our art studio team and support people living with brain injury in our day centre in Haggerston.

You will take responsibility for organising and delivering activities in the Submit to Love art studio, such as supporting members in creating new artworks, planning and delivering events and outings, and engaging members in a variety of other activities in response to their needs and interests.

The role also involves providing advocacy and support (key working) for up to 12 members and ensuring the smooth running of the day service as a member of the co-ordinating team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Activities in the art studio:

•  Support members to engage creatively and develop their personal artistic practise.
• Work alongside the studio manager, day service members and volunteers to plan and deliver events, including artist led workshops, exhibitions and open studios.
•  Plan trips to cultural events and experiences.

Key working:

• Act as key worker for up to 16 members, checking in regularly about their engagement in the centre and their general wellbeing, and supporting them with information, advice, and advocacy as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain contact with members’ families, carers, and relevant statutory partners to facilitate good communication and better provide appropriate support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including comprehensive individual risk assessments.

Day Service co-ordination:

• Work closely with colleagues and volunteers in the day service and other teams at Headway East London to create a welcoming, supportive, and stimulating environment for members.
• Share responsibility for practical tasks in the day service to ensure its smooth running.
• Work sensitively with volunteers, supporting them alongside the volunteer co-ordinator to take on meaningful and rewarding roles in the day service.

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Events Manager to lead on Media Trust’s 2024 calendar of fundraising and industry-facing events, including our upcoming 30th Birthday Fundraising Gala and support with other programme-related events.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable expertise in delivering successful fundraising and other events, working across multiple projects, and finding new and innovative ways to engage corporate supporters in fundraising events and campaigns. 

You will be part of the Volunteering & Events Management team and will manage a range of in person and virtual events, from fundraising events to corporate partner cultivation drinks, industry roundtables and large-scale volunteering initiatives. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver impactful high-quality events and ensure that all our events deliver against set targets.

This role would suit someone with a good understanding and experience of the UK charity sector and a passion for equalities and inclusion. We are looking for a strong candidate to take Media Trust’s event activity and fundraising to the next level to enable us to support more charities and underrepresented talent and engage more media and creative industry professionals in our work. 

Key responsibilities  

Events Management 

• Manage end-to-end delivery of Media Trust events, campaigns and projects of varying size, format and complexity, both in person and virtually

• Lead on the development and running of Media Trust’s 30th Birthday celebratory events, including but not limited to our Fundraising Gala, ensuring the fundraising target is hit or exceeded 

• Support the Programmes team and Media Trust Films team on delivery of events when necessary, including, but not limited to, Charity Challenge Days and Film Screenings 

• Provide a high standard of support to key stakeholders throughout the planning, execution and evaluation of each event 

• Develop and implement consistent processes, procedures and documentation for all events across Media Trust, including event timelines, agendas, speaker and staff briefs 

• Develop fundraising and sponsorship proposals to fund core events across Media Trust  

• Manage event budgets ensuring they are run cost effectively

• Maximise the profitability (where appropriate), sustainability and quality of all events 

• Act as first point of contact for stakeholders including corporate partners, venues, caterers, speakers, attendees, Media Trust staff and Trustees 

• Research and suggest relevant key speakers and work with all Media Trust teams to finalise speakers for events

• Work closely with the Marketing team to develop communications to promote events and drive engagement 

• Monitor KPIs and evaluate the impact of events, providing reports and feedback summaries as required 

• Ensure all Media Trust events and fundraising activities are logged effectively and Media Trust’s CRM is kept up-to-date 

Corporate Partner Activity 

• Liaise with our Corporate Partners and lead on bespoke events organised as part of their partnership with Media Trust

• Work closely with the Partnerships team to develop and deliver volunteer opportunities, recruiting, briefing and training volunteers including presentations and pitches  

• Work with other members of the Volunteering & Events Management team to support with other volunteering activity including development of innovative events and opportunities

Additional Responsibilities  

• Continual research and ideation, monitoring industry trends for new and exciting fundraising and profile-raising opportunities and partnership collaborations

• Provide additional support to the Partnerships team as required

What we are looking for in you 

Essential 

• Experience of end-to-end event management, including the planning of fundraising events, and delivering high-impact results in a professional or charitable organisation

• Experience of organising both online and in person events

• Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage and prioritise across multiple events, work with multiple teams and meet deadlines 

• Experience of working with Corporate Partners and managing stakeholder relationships at both a strategic and project level 

• Outstanding communication skills and ability to adapt tone and approach for different stakeholders 

• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage external stakeholders and suppliers, paid and unpaid, ensuring high quality of work and events run smoothly

• Experience of data management and CRM systems with ability to support, inform and report on fundraising and other event activity 

• A passion for events and innovative approaches to engaging audiences 

Desirable 

• Experience of creating and developing proposals for event sponsorship and pitching to corporate partners and other stakeholders

• Experience of designing and managing event budgets

• Good understanding of the charity sector, including charity, GDPR and data protection laws 

• Understanding of the media, comms and creative sectors in the UK

What’s the job?

We need someone with high quality research and data analysis skills to join us as our Research and Evidence Manager. You will work with us to plan, design and deliver projects with cross-sector stakeholders, as well as developing reports and other ways to share our findings with members and the wider sector. We need someone who has solid research skills, is a natural collaborator, and can collate and present research in different ways to help us achieve the change that’s needed for Londoners.

This role is crucial in ensuring that we deliver on our ambition to drive a learning culture, where shared data, intelligence and insight leads to better decision-making. This role is initially fixed term for one year, and may be subject to renewal. It reflects our growing commitment to ensuring our work is relevant and responsive to the diverse needs of our members and communities. As this is a newly developed post, we are also looking for someone who can work flexibly and bring ideas to help shape the role, so that it has a lasting impact on the way London Funders works.

We’ve just committed to a really exciting and crucial piece of research taking place over the next year, where we will work with funders and equity partners to map the current state of funding for equity and justice infrastructure. This will initially focus on London, before we take the approach to cover England and Wales. Our ideal candidate would be someone who has experience of running multiple research projects at once with strong project management skills, and direct experience designing and leading both qualitative and quantitative projects. You’ll also need to be able to work with different stakeholders to both co-design research approaches as well as facilitate their engagement in helping us learn from and make sense of the findings.  As such you will need a track record of building relationships in a range of contexts and producing and communicating research outputs in a range of different and accessible formats, including presenting to external audiences.

Whilst we are a small team, we share an office with our friends at Trust for London. There is flexibility about the hours for this role, so it would be available on a part-time or full-time basis (with a minimum of 24 hours per week, or 0.75 FTE). The skills, experience, insights and inspiration you will bring to the role are more important to us, so we'll do what we can to accommodate your preferred working pattern.

The salary is £36,400 per year (or pro rata if you choose part-time) and is a fixed term contract for one year, with the possibility of becoming permanent. The BNSSG Mental Health Alliance is a network of over 20 Voluntary, Community and 
Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations based across the Bristol, North Somerset and South 
Glos (BNSSG) regions, working collaboratively to deliver a range of psychological 
interventions for our communities. Commissioned by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) to 
work alongside the statutory sector, our aim is to offer holistic and inclusive support for 
people experiencing a range of challenges to their mental health including depression, 
anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, perinatal mental health. As part of this, the VCSE Mental 
Health Alliance recently received funding from the ICB to undertake a review of 
psychological therapies within BNSSG, seeking to better align the VCSE and statutory 
services in keeping with the new Community Mental Health Framework. 
We are now seeking to recruit two part-time Project Coordinators to help us develop this 
project over the next 10 months.

About the Project
There is a lack of accessible psychological therapy provision across Bristol, North Somerset, 
and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) leading to gaps in service, some people not accessing 
services or waiting a long time to be seen. This is particularly true for people who have 
‘complex’ trauma presentations, experience multiple barriers to accessing services and/ or
require evidenced based and trauma informed interventions to address their needs.
Much of the therapy that people access in Primary Care outside of NHS Talking Therapies 
and Secondary Care, is provided in the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE)
sector, by specialist charitable organisations. This therapy is unevenly distributed across the 
six localities in BNSSG.

Womankind completed Phase 1 with a comprehensive report on VCSE talking therapies 
provision, (January 2024). 
Bristol Mind and Womankind are members of the VCSE Mental Health Alliance and are 
leading on Phase 2 of the project.

Job purpose and responsibilities
To reach and represent our diverse membership, we are recruiting two part-time Project 
Coordinator posts who will work collaboratively to plan and deliver activities. Project 
Coordinators will be managed separately by our organisations. 
The Project Coordinator(s) will be responsible for the successful delivery of Phase 2 of the 
project and will work in collaboration with key stakeholders to support the re-design of a new, 
integrated model of care that will optimise psychological therapies provision for the people of 
BNSSG. 

Role Description
1. To work in collaboration with key stakeholders.
2. To collate referral and signposting data between statutory & VCSE Psychological 
Therapies services, tracking service-user journeys and gaps in provision.
3. To undertake targeted ‘deep dive’ consultations with evidence-based VCSE 
Psychological Therapies providers (121 and group), drawing out information on 
numbers/ sessions, waiting lists/times, geography, presenting issues, equity-based 
offers, service and clinical outcomes.
4. To work closely with Lived Experience groups to identify key system blocks and 
solutions relating to referral pathways, waiting times, choice/ flexibility, co-design and 
service-user voice.
5. To support the design of a new integrated model, working closely with the VCSE MH 
Alliance and wider Evidence-Based Practice Steering Group in order to agree key 
elements.
6. To support the design and delivery of a ‘test & learn’ approach to piloting the model, 
working closely with lived experience volunteers and an external research consultant.
7. To contribute to a final report designed to recommend best practice, promote interagency training, and support joined-up mental health provision across BNSSG.

Head of Housing and Community Projects

Location: Chorley, other venues around Lancashire and virtual meetings (hybrid working approach)

Salary: £43,000 - £46,000 – salary based on a 35-hour working week (pro rata based on hours agreed). Salary commensurate with experience.

Each service will be headed up by service leads (line managed by this role), who subsequently oversee a growing workforce of 13 team members.

Inter Mediate

Inter Mediate (IM) is a unique and discreet London-based peacemaking organisation established in 2011 to support behind-the-scenes peace negotiations in some of the world’s most challenging conflicts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the senior management team of a small high-impact organisation working at the leading edge of international peacemaking.

Reporting to the Deputy CEO and working closely with the CEO and the Financial Director, the Operations Manager will lead Inter Mediate’s institutional, Human Resources and project-support systems to keep the organisation running smoothly and ensure we are equipped to deliver the best results.

A successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with senior management experience in operations, preferably for a non-profit organisation. You will be familiar with the fast and sometimes unpredictable pace of an international operating environment, and confident in handling challenges as they arise. You will be comfortable working collaboratively within a small team and engaging credibly with a wide range of people from senior government officials to project interlocutors in the field.

Key Responsibilities

A) Governance and Institutional Compliance (with the Deputy CEO and senior management)

• Lead the development and implementation of IM’s operational planning, in coordination with the CEO, Deputy CEO, Finance Director, staff, Trustees and supporters.
• Ensure that Inter Mediate complies with its charitable and legal obligations.
• Prepare, attend and minute Trustee and Committee meetings.
• Develop and implement quality improvement process for institutional policies and project delivery to keep Inter Mediate ethical, efficient and delivering value for money.
• Source, manage and review all professional services and suppliers engaged by Inter Mediate including banking, legal advice, accounting and auditing.

B) Human Resources and Office Operations

• Oversee Inter Mediate’s recruitment process and work with the Deputy CEO to ensure that we have fair procedures for benefits, training, probation, diversity and inclusion, gender pay gap, safeguarding, grievance and disciplinary matters.
• Oversee the contracting and on-boarding for new staff, consultants and trustees.
• Manage day-to-day HR functions and queries, including leave recording systems.
• Conduct staff remuneration and salary benchmarking exercises with the Deputy CEO.
• Update and maintain the employment handbook policies and procedures.
• Oversee office operations, equipment and facilities management.

C) IT, Security and Risk Management

• Ensure that the IT and communications systems are optimally configured for effectiveness and security, and that staff can operate them as necessary.
• Ensure Inter Mediate has robust risk mitigation systems and training for staff.
• Ensure Risk Assessments and security plans are completed by staff prior to staff travel.
• Ensure Inter Mediate has a viable business continuity plan.
• Maintain and review the Risk Register for the organisation with the Deputy CEO.

D) Financial Management (with the Finance Director)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

Service delivery

• Ensure that all aspects of Rahab’s project activities are planned, organized and undertaken to fulfil their objectives within their required timelines.

• Develop, organize, and maintain project documentation, plans, reports, and other project-related documents to monitor and track overall progress, outputs and achievement of milestones.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate project risks, delays and issues to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.

Service development

Priority stakeholder relationships 

• Participate in and contribute to collaborative working arrangements, alongside Rahab Manager, in key stakeholder work - SI MARAC (Sex Industry Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference) - with Local Authority, Metropolitan Police and Voluntary and Community sector.

• Participation at monthly SI MARAC meetings, ensuring that the work of the group is effectively joined up with wider groups and meetings focussed on addressing risk and harm.

• Support Rahab’s Senior Caseworker where necessary to ensure SI MARAC outcomes are effectively linked up with Rahab's outreach activities, and work-with Rahab’s Project Manager to ensure team members are kept informed about SI MARAC developments. 

• Work with the team to identify and engage in new professional relationships with key organisations across different sectors, and maintain our existing networks of contacts, to (i) develop and expand Rahab’s activities and reach, and (ii) foster collaboration. 

• Represent Rahab in multi-agency working groups, meetings, and forums, sharing knowledge and learning, publicising services available and how to access support. 

Beneficiary co-production 

• Work with Manager to start developing a framework and mechanism for gathering feedback from beneficiaries to evaluate the support they are receiving. 

• Work with the team to identify opportunities for our beneficiaries’ active participation in the project in ways that are safe and empowering. 

Shared learning 

• Participate in team development and learning in relation to best practice interventions and our casework delivery for beneficiaries. 
   

Continued professional development 

• Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, guidance, and best practice.

Variation clause

Role Description

As Volunteer Programmes Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the successful delivery of projects in the Decorate A Child's Life (DACL) and Adventure Play Partnership (APP) volunteering programmes. Your role will include  managing the day-to-day operations for Volunteer Programmes, oversight of programme coordination,  reviewing and updating procedures on a rolling basis and keeping good records, including financial monitoring and collecting impact data for regular reporting.
