You will join LUPUS UK's staff team as the main point of contact for children, young people and families who are affected by lupus. You will work with these beneficiaries to improve and expand the information resources and support services provided by the charity.
Approximately 1-in-5 people with lupus are diagnosed as children. This often has a significant impact on the child or young person as well as their family. The information and support needs for these groups of people differ from the rest of the adults connecting with LUPUS UK. We want a dedicated and passionate person to join our staff team and work with these beneficiaries to build on work we have done so far and improve the information and support we can offer.
We are seeking a candidate for a part-time role, working 21 hours per week. Ideally, the candidate will be able to divide their time appropriately between our office and working remotely. Are you looking for a rewarding challenge?
Then join our experienced team supporting children and young people who have caring responsibilities for someone in their family due to disability, long-term illness, mental health, or drug or alcohol misuse. You’ll help deliver our Young Carers service across Havering, so a car driver is essential.
In this role, you will manage an existing caseload and new referrals, meeting with families and Young Carers to complete statutory assessments and create action plans. You‘ll provide support for Young Carers to reduce the impact of their caring role and improve their resilience, educational chances, and wellbeing, through signposting to local services, in-school support, one-to-one sessions, and workshops.
There will be opportunities to work closely with schools, Children’s Services and other agencies to raise awareness, identify hidden Young Carers, and ensure Young Carer needs are understood and acted on.
You will need to be confident, approachable and self-motivated, with the ability to quickly establish rapport with children and young people. Applicants should have relevant experience of working or volunteering in education, health or social care, or be looking to start a career working with children or young people.
This is a part-time role, ideally working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (including occasional early evenings).

We are looking for a Recovery Coordinator (leading in alcohol) to join our Nottinghamshire service (based in our Worksop & Newark team).
You will need to have experience of managing caseloads of people and know how to manage risk and minimise harm.

You will be focused on helping people to achieve positive outcomes by coordinating their personalised recovery journey, through thorough assessment and support planning. You will oversee their participation in group programs, treatment options and one to ones, whilst continually managing risk and minimizing harm. This role will involve working mainly with alcohol users.
You will be open, compassionate, and driven to provide the very best care and support for everyone. You will need to be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and be comfortable working with multiple teams internally and externally.
To be successful you will need to have:
- Experience in managing caseloads
- Good working knowledge of alcohol-related harm and risks
- A commitment to multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions
- Accomplished written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of personal IT competency.
- The ability to accurately update and maintain records in a timely fashion and to work to deadlines for the submission of information, e.g. reports.
- Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative, prioritising accordingly.
- Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
- Good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services and good practice.
- An understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.

As well as ensuring the quality of service and support provided to people who use our services, we’ll rely on you to manage service contracts, line manage front line staff and organise any building maintenance requirements. Whether you’re carrying out an induction, undertaking an investigation, putting team development plans in place or providing support to our business development team, one thing’s for sure – you won't be short of challenge and variety.
Substantial experience gained managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs is a given, as well as being outcome driven and able to lead by example using your firm but inclusive management style. You’re open and encouraging too and have lots of tact and diplomacy.
What's more, you're great at managing conflicting priorities on time, have a flexible attitude to working hours and are willing to participate in on call arrangements. Right now, we’re looking for an energetic and flexible individual with the want to learn how to provide advice, assessments, brief and structured interventions, group programmes and training courses to individuals, families and couples. As a Trainee Practitioner, you’ll be based within SIAS at the Newington Centre and across Solihull in our outreach venues.
To succeed, you will need a willingness to complete a level 3 apprenticeship qualification and relevant training to develop knowledge and skills in the field. A long term aim to gain experience of working within a substance use, gambling, mental health or associated field. Alternatively, you can bring demonstrable experience in the substance misuse field and a commitment to complete the level 3 apprenticeship. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals is important too, as is an understanding of the Recovery Agenda. The aim of outreach worker is to ensure that key services are available to those who need it the most. The role entails reaching out to hard to engage clients.
