ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a Senior Peripatetic Service Manager (SPSM) who will work across a range of services to support with management and leadership activities, new contract implementation, and delivering on service improvement plans. You will provide direction,, support, and guidance to service managers and teams, working responsively and at pace to provide service manager cover as needed. 

You will be based across various services as required, so ability and willingness to travel is essential. In person presence is required however you may be able to have some days working from home as agreed. 

Shift/Working pattern: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, you may also be required to work outside these hours as per the service requirements and needs such as occasional evenings/weekends. You will also take part in our on call service.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Line Management and Leadership

• Provide high quality support, leadership and line management to staff, offer guidance, support, and advice to the team and support them to perform to the best of their abilities.
• Provide leadership and management throughout the full employee lifecycle.
• Hold regular one to ones and team meetings to support effective teamwork and communication. Facilitate a culture where constructive challenge is welcomed.
• Proactively embed a culture of learning, development, reflection, and evaluation in a psychologically informed environment.

Service Delivery

• Manage the overall day-to-day operational delivery of your service, working directly with your team, colleagues, residents and participants, as well as other stakeholders to provide a high-quality, holistic service which meets the needs of our residents.
• Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
• Support the team to carry out their day to day duties and responsibilities, offer guidance and support as necessary. 
• Work proactively to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.
• Empower residents and participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.
• Be part of the operational on-call Rota for providing out-of-hours support across the operations directorate.

Risk Management

• Follow relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share relevant information with others as necessary.
• Ensure all case recording and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR.
• Champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.

Property and Housing Management

• Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is clean and maintained to a high standard
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
• Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents. 

Financial Management

• Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
• Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
• Maintain financial management within the service.

Other

• Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required. 

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. Please refer to the JDPS attached for more information.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• Previous experience in people management and development
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Understanding of Housing Management, including voids and evictions

The role of the Outreach & Development Worker is to ensure carers of all ages and backgrounds are aware of their rights and know how to receive support from Gaddum and other services they need at the right time for them.

The job holder will provide outreach & support sessions, deliver groups and events for carers and other relevant partners across Salford. Creating exciting new opportunities for carers through networking and building partnerships.

The role will focus on the outreach provision, being based in different locations across Salford including hospitals, community venues, mental health settings and others accessed by people with caring responsibilities. The role will include supporting the continued development of the service, assisting with the creation of resources and training. The role will also support our involvement offer; ensuring carers are at the forefront of service change and service delivery.

Day Care Officer – Day Care Centres 

Age UK Camden Day Care Centres are looking to recruit Day Care Officers to cover a range of hours and shifts across our two Day Care Centres. 

Our Centres provide a wide range of activities as well as being a specialist Day Care Centres caring for older people with complex needs. The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch and a range of special events. 

We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs.

Developed in 2011 the Approved Provider Scheme is a voluntary standards-based accreditation for rehabilitation and residential units for people with a brain injury.

The scheme enables Approved Provider units to affirm their dedication to excellent care, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. The accreditation is then published for families, individuals and professionals to help inform their choices when identifying suitable provision for brain injury survivors. Our collaborative and supportive accreditation process guides units through every step towards achieving and maintaining exemplary service standards.

The Approved Provider Associate Manager will involve, conducting and writing assessments and working with their Manager to manage Lead Assessors, who are based around the UK and the Service User Perspective Assessors, who are either brain injury survivors, or family members/ carers.

• Working with freelance Lead Assessors and Service User Perspective Assessors who are based around the UK, to organise assessments and ensure the schemes standards are upheld.

ABOUT YOU

EYPDAS Social Care Link Worker

Permanent contract but funding for this role ends on 31st March 2025 (with the potential for extension subject to funding)  

37 hours per week

Essex - Countywide role 

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support young people when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for young people, every step of the way.  

This role sits within our children and families directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for young people who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services within the Essex area.  

We wish to recruit a Social Care Link Worker to join our established Essex Young Peoples Drug and Alcohol Team (EYPDAS) supporting young people aged 8-24 who are using or misusing substances.

You will provide direct therapeutic support to vulnerable young people, vulnerable adults and families who are affected by substance use. Support offered will include one to one, targeted group work & online support across the County. You may also facilitate training around substances for statutory and voluntary agencies across the County.  You will link closely with Social Care to ensure effective pathways into the drug treatment system for young people, parents and carers.

The young people will require a skilled practitioner who is experienced in working with hard to reach, vulnerable young people at risk and using trauma informed therapeutic approaches. You will have experience of facilitating groups with knowledge of the issues and legislation affecting young people who are using or misusing substances. 

What we are looking for...

-You will have substantial experience in working with vulnerable young people either in a paid or unpaid capacity. To be able to evidence your ability to build positive relationships with groups of young people to raise awareness about substance use and the associated risks and impact. 

-You will have experience of carrying out individual and group work interventions with young people & adults. 

-You will have experience in using Microsoft Office Applications and other relevant data systems.  

-You can demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative as well as be able to contribute to a multi-agency approach so as to enable effective interventions with young people, including delivering training to a range of professionals.

SCHOOLS BASED ACROSS BURNLEY & SALFORD

We require a Social Worker to provide high quality social work in our schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.

You will work directly with children and young people, their parents, carers and schools in order to further the child’s welfare and provide the interventions necessary to enable them to use their learning opportunities to the full. You must be able to provide a non-judgemental, caring and confidential environment throughout this work to ensure the issues are addressed in an appropriate manner for all those involved.

To apply you will have experience of working with children and families and experience of direct work with children which includes supporting school staff with safeguarding. You must have competent IT skills which includes providing regular reports to the individual schools and Caritas and feedback to school staff as required. You must be able to maintain appropriate resources, databases and case files as well as maintain efficient and comprehensive referral and recording systems.

Registered social worker status with Social Work England (SWE) is essential and the salary includes accrued annual leave.

This role is due to commence in September 2024.

Job Description

Post Title: Social Switch Youth Mentor

Work area: Social Switch Projects

Responsible to: Social Switch Project manager

Location: The post will be primarily based at Redthread’s Head Office in Brixton, with some days at Catch 22’s head office and working from home. However, all Redthread team members must have a flexible approach to working on other sites

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. The nature of Redthread’s Social Switch work means that occasional evening and weekend work is required.

Salary: £29.767,50 per annum + benefits

Contract type: 18-month fixed term, with the possibility of extension subject to funding

DBS Check Required: Enhanced with Barring (Child & Adult Workforce)

Purpose of the Post

London's Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has joined forces with Redthread and Catch22 to support young Londoners aged 16-30 to gain skills, qualifications, and employment in the digital and surrounding sectors.

The youth Mentor will be working within local communities to support programme users to progress into apprenticeships, employment, education, and training opportunities.

In this role we are looking for a Youth Mentor to provide tailored career guidance and occasionally deliver facilitated employability workshops to those enrolled on the programme. We want someone who is ready to champion the rights and needs of those facing barriers to work, and is committed to delivering the best they can, for the people on the programme

You will manage a caseload of service users and develop bespoke plans to support these individuals throughout their journey towards progression. It would be beneficial to have an awareness of the digital or technical sectors and/or apprenticeships.

You will immerse yourself in a targeted location and be responsible for engaging a range of referral partners to attract targeted young people onto the programme.

CISWO is a national charity whose mission is to improve the lives of individuals and communities facing disadvantage due to the impact of the coal mining industry.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to be based in our office in Pontefract to lead the service delivery within the Yorkshire and North East region, managing a team of office based and home based Social Work Assistants providing advice and support to former miners and their dependents.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong social work background with experience of managing a team in a social care setting and supporting older people and / or people with disabilities.

As Senior Social Worker, you will:

• Lead and manage the team to provide a high quality, professional, outcomes focused service for our client group.
• Manage a small caseload of clients when necessary, including carrying out high quality assessments and providing a range of appropriate interventions based on the needs of the clients.
• Act as the safeguarding lead for the region, supporting team members to take appropriate action as required.
• Drive service performance and improvement and ensure the effective management of casework across the team.
• Manage the delivery of a range of interventions including welfare benefits advice, mobility support, social isolation, and financial issues.
• Promote the service locally and develop partnerships with other agencies to ensure an integrated and multidisciplinary approach.

The essential qualities, skills and experience you will need to apply for this role:

• A degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification and current professional registration
• Experience of community based social care services with experience of delivery with older people and / or disability services
• Experience of leading / managing a team with the ability to manage & effectively prioritise caseloads
• Knowledge and understanding of the values and principles underpinning working with vulnerable adults and their carers within the community setting,
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice, particularly in relation to older people, mental health and disability
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with good judgement and logical decision making ability
• A valid driving licence and access to own vehicle

The role also provides the opportunity to contribute more widely to Hospice clinical services including teaching, audit, and research.

About You

You will have well developed counselling and advocacy skills and be able to develop effective working relationships with other health and social care professionals in the area.

A knowledge of and experience of statutory social work in health and social care, safeguarding procedures and multi-disciplinary working are essential. You will have an excellent understanding of the social service system, and the ability to work with diverse communities.

Strong communication and people skills are fundamental as you will be required to work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring every patient and their needs are always at the heart of what you do.
