Our Crisis service provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals in crisis, offering an alternative to emergency departments and other crisis services.

This is a fixed-term contract position for 36 hours per week on a Monday to Friday schedule. You will have the option to work either 9am to 5pm or 10am to 6pm.

As a Crisis Support Worker with a focus on outreach, you will play a critical role in proactively engaging with individuals in crisis within the communities of New Addington, Thornton Heath, and Old Coulsdon. You will work collaboratively with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure individuals receive the support they need through community outreach initiatives.

Lancashire Mind is a local charity working to prevent poor mental health. We support people experiencing common mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression. We work with children and adults, offering universal services to help people improve their mental wellbeing, along with targeted services for people and communities at increased risk of experiencing poor mental health or facing mental health inequalities. We do this well on an individual service level, with many of our projects designed with the people who use them but we need to improve how we involve people with lived experience in organisation-wide development plans and key decision making.

To help us work towards our plans for embedding participation, we're looking for someone to join our Engagement and Inclusion Team to work with the communities we aim to serve, with a focus on those who are underrepresented within Lancashire Mind services. The role has been designed to ensure that the experiences, perspectives and ideas of local people are being listened to and acted upon.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within communities and knowledge of the barriers that people face to achieving mental wellbeing and accessing services. You'll be confident, creative and able to work autonomously in the community, where you'll communicate with a wide range of people and quickly build rapport.

The focus of the role will be to ensure that more people with lived experience of poor mental health know who Lancashire Mind are, what we do and how they can influence our work. You'll work with the Community Engagement Projects Lead to create a range of opportunities for people to participate, including establishing formal structures, for example a lived experience panel and youth advisory group, which you'll design with the people who want to get involved. You'll work with colleagues across all teams to ensure opportunities to influence Lancashire Mind's work are promoted to everyone who uses our services.

About the role:

This role is based at Accrington. Once your probation period is completed you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will be:

• Focusing on victims of domestic abuse, providing a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service
• Supporting victims face to face & over the telephone
• Developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs & risk assessment
• Providing advocacy, emotional & practical support and information to victims including legal & civil options, housing, health & finance and support through the criminal justice system.

You will need to:

• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
• Have theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework
• Experience of managing a complex caseload, to prioritise work and deal with competing demands demonstrating an organised and methodical approach to work
• Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations

We are recruiting for a number of roles in our GMIRS Wellbeing Service, providing support to people on probation. There are roles at both project worker and team leader level.

Back on Track is part of a partnership of charities working in local communities across Greater Manchester to deliver the GMIRS Wellbeing Service. The service aims to reduce reoffending by working with people to improve their physical, emotional, and mental health and wellbeing, foster healthy relationships and move forward in their lives.
 
We are looking for three project workers (salary £27,800 – £32,000) who will build strong relationships with people who join the programme, provide 1:1 wellbeing support and guidance, and support with practical challenges including debt, low level housing needs, finance and benefits.

We are also looking for two team leaders (£31,400 – £33,650) who will bring knowledge and experience to directly support participants of the programme, offer support and guidance to project workers, and provide coordination and developmental support to the Manchester GMIRS Wellbeing Service.

In all roles you will be working with people who have a range of needs. This will include people who have experienced trauma, who have been homeless or lived in poverty, and people who face difficulties with mental health and problematic drug and alcohol use.

As well as leading the youth work, this postholder will join part of The Pelham’s project leadership team alongside the other four core projects:

· Our volunteer-run Coffee Lounge is open 5 days a week, providing a safe and warm space in the community to over 150 customers each week.

· The Pelham as a Community Hub welcomes over 400 people through our doors each week and hire our spaces out to over 60 different local organisations that use The Pelham as a base for their valuable assistance to help people in need locally. The range of organisations covers the voluntary, statutory and small business community to create a vibrant and dynamic space.

· RunningSpace is our suicide prevention project with a vision to champion life and beat suicide through walk2run groups. We currently run sessions in five locations, across East Sussex and Kent. We also host suicide prevention training too on a regular basis.

· The Pelham Counselling Service offers individual and group work therapy sessions with its team of 9 counsellors. It offers bursaries and a flexible service to best meet the needs of local people.

In joining the team, collaborative working will be at the heart of the development of the youth work, including group therapy sessions for young people, suicide prevention work and volunteering and employability pathways.

Main Purpose of the Role:

The Youth Worker will take the leadership role in the development of Youth work from The Pelham, as part of its charitable work and community service, working under the guidance of the CEO and as part of the Project Leadership team.

The role will include having vision to develop relevant and appealing opportunities in Bexhill for young people, working together with local partners, including schools and voluntary organisations. This will include innovative options outside of our current scope of work, which may include wellbeing activities, studying support, home education, group work therapy and more.

2. To run youth activities at The Pelham on a weekly basis in term time, including but not limited to:

8. To work alongside the pastoral care team at Bexhill Academy to provide support to students during lunchtime(s) in the school week.

9. To explore and respond to the local need for young people, including helping to mitigate anti-social behaviour in Sidley with increased interaction and trust building. This will include working with local partners including Heart of Sidley, Rother Safety Partnership and Sussex Police.

Project Manager (Support Worker): 1-1 support for young people at risk – 35 hours/week (full-time)

In this role you will provide 1-1 intensive support to a caseload young people who are identified as being at risk of offending or have already had some contact with the justice system (e.g. the police). You will provide face-to-face support to each young person, in their local community, to help them develop confidence, aspirations, and a pro-social mindset. Key to this will be helping them to recognise their strengths and capabilities, consider positive lifestyle choices, and create an action plan to help them move forward to a brighter future.

Project Manager (Course Tutor): “For My Future” delivery for young people – 14 hours/week (part-time)

“For My Future” is a bespoke 6-week course designed in 2019 specifically for people in the justice system. Focusing on both personal skills and practical ones (CVs, applications, interviews), the course is delivered either in person or online to small, single-sex cohorts over a 6-week period. To succeed in this role, you will have experience of supporting people in group scenarios and be confident presenting both in person and online. Groups will need to be carefully managed to ensure each young person gets the best experience and can benefit from the course.

• Assist the Manager in ensuring that all relevant administration, data collection and analysis is collated and reported on, including monthly and annual reports to line management

 West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC)  is looking for an individual who has experience of  the sexual violence sector or an aligned field and a knowledge and understanding of sexual violence and its impacts. 

You will be part of a supportive team that brings together all the skills that WMRSASC has to support survivors of sexual violence 

• The Culturally Responsive Independent Sexual Violence Advocate will have a caseload, which will include supporting survivors from Minority Ethnic communities.
• This post aims to identify clients from Minority Ethnic communities who do not access the Independent Sexual Violence Advocacy service, identify barriers to them seeking support, and find innovative ways to overcome those barriers, so that they feel able to access the service if they wish.
• The role will aim to promote self-referrals and to reach out to Minority Ethnic communities. Making sure that the role meets the diverse needs of the communities. 
• The role will raise the profile of and promote the Specialist Minority Ethnic Service across statutory and voluntary agencies, and establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with partner agencies to create straightforward referral pathways for clients from Minority Ethnic communities.

About the role:

This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office near Old Street and in co-location at Kings College Hospital. You will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims to increase safety & reduce harm
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse
• Run group training sessions & share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.

You will need:

• knowledge of help-seeking barriers & support needs of victims of domestic abuse
• a good understanding of domestic abuse & it's impact
• knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management
• understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding thee
• direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people
• good communication, negotiation & advocacy skills, both written & verbal, able to interact with a range of agencies and individuals
• have strong crisis management skills, able to deal with stressful and difficult situations

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Children and Family Worker to join the team in our West London Women's refuge. The service is a refuge accommodation for women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma. we are looking for someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children.

As a Children and Family worker, you will support in providing a much needed safe and nurturing environment for children and their mother's, providing pathways, support and appropriate interventions to enable resettlement. You will support various teams to co-produce a tailored support plan which is altered to the individual's needs through a recovery model providing trauma informed and enabling environments to achieve this. 

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, working on a rota which is over 7 days including evenings. You will be based on site within the service.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Children and Family Relationships

• Provide parenting advice to support mothers and their families.
• Provide stimulating play opportunities to encourage children from all backgrounds to develop and express themselves, as well as support the children with their general learning, homework, and literacy.
• Support with early learning development, supporting mothers through advice and activity packs which aid their children’s learning and development.
• Deliver family sessions to support contract orders by social services and other organisations, as well as to help rebuild relationships, life skills, confidence, reliance, self-esteem and manage trauma.
• Offer age-appropriate sessions to children to provide a safe, encouraging, and development led environment which provides meaningful and memorable experiences.
• Work with residents and their keyworkers to understand complex needs to help build children’s and their families lives.

Support Working

• Build and sustain trusting and respectful relationships with our residents, including children.
• Create a safe, stable, psychologically informed environment which is nurturing to children and families.
• Provide support for residents, contributing to the development of support plans, risk assessments, reviews, regular support sessions and other personal development activities.
• Support with reducing barriers to reintegrating into communities, and re-developing confidence, skills, and coping mechanisms to support those with previous trauma.
• Develop and sustain therapeutic relationships with our residents, providing practical and emotional support with a trauma informed approach to ensure they are always treated with respect and dignity. Deal with sensitive information in a professional manner.

Additional Responsibilities

• Attend appointments as and when required in support of residents.
• Undertake shift lead responsibilities on rotation, taking responsibility for ensuring day-to-day support delivery is effective, with staff carrying out their designated responsibilities, alongside ensuring resident and service-specific follow up actions are completed.
• Housing Management responsibilities, ensure residents and staff are safe, and the surroundings are kept clean and well maintained.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds
• Previous experience and/or in-depth knowledge about working with children who have experienced trauma
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience
• Understanding of the trauma children and families may go through due to domestic violence and other previous experiences
• Understanding of the social needs and support required for people with multiple and complex needs
• Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with various challenging backgrounds, mental health, addiction, exploitation, homelessness, and previous convictions

What we would like, but not essential:

• Previous experience creating co-produced support plans, key working, and care planning, providing appropriate interventions for service users
• Previous experience providing housing support and practical assistance within a residential support role
• Appropriate Professional Qualification in: Social Care, Early years Education, Certificate in Childcare or other relevant
• Understanding and/or practical application of key legislation regarding social care, housing, criminal justice, and mental health
• Ability to Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis

About the role:

As the post-holder, you will be working in our Camden Women's Recovery Service hostel providing specialist interventions for a designated caseload and to the wider client group, via our in-house recovery programme. 

Your role will be working intensively with the residents on their supports needs. The role of Complex Needs Project Worker is a specialist role, designed to work with people who may be more difficult to reach and establish working relationships with.  As such, you will role model good practice for working with those who have experienced multiple disadvantage by adopting a trauma informed approach.

Within this setting, you will also work to establish a culture of co-production where residents are at the forefront of the work that is carried out, helping to promote autonomy and build individual confidence and interpersonal skills.

The rota for the post is earlies (8 am - 4 pm) and lates (2.30pm - 10.30pm).

About you:

• Previous experience of working with female rough sleepers or people with complex mental health, physical health or substance use support needs. 
• An understanding of working with people using person-centred approaches and working collaboratively within a harm minimisation and recovery framework.
• A flexible, innovative and creative approach to working with a sometimes hard to engage and challenging client group, is also required.
