The Development and Alumni Office is a small, dynamic team responsible for building a culture of support for Goldsmiths, whether that is through philanthropy, volunteering or advocacy. The Alumni Relations and Regular Giving programme aims to build relationships that inspire alumni, colleagues and friends to support Goldsmiths through strategic projects and initiatives, donations or volunteering. Through our multi-channel giving campaigns, we seek individual gifts, mid-value gifts and legacy gifts.
About the Role
Goldsmiths has an alumni community of 93,500 former students and staff in 160 countries around the world, who offer a unique set of skills and experience. This new role at Goldsmiths has been created to help us expand our Alumni Engagement, Mid-Value and Legacies programmes, which seek the engagement and support of our alumni community.
This role will work closely with the Head of Alumni Relations and Regular Giving to lead on strategic alumni engagement projects and to develop and deliver highly personalised mid-value and legacy programmes.
Alumni engagement and alumni strategic projects (approximately 50% of the role)
This role will lead on the development of strategic initiatives to bring alumni together with Goldsmiths to form relationships, projects and initiatives that support education at Goldsmiths. Projects will be wide-ranging in nature, for example the development of cross-organisational projects such as alumni/student mentoring, or setting up alumni panels, committees or boards to support Goldsmiths.
Mid-value and legacy fundraising (approximately 50% of the role)
This role will lead on engagement initiatives to develop and steward our mid-value and legacy donors who are acquired from our alumni engagement, individual giving and legacy marketing programmes. The legacy programme will deliver highly personalised engagement for legacy prospects and pledgers via events, a legacy society and other initiatives.
About the Candidate
We are seeking a strategic thinker and natural relationship builder. You will have the skills and experience to develop strategic projects that create partnerships between alumni and the College, for the benefit of Goldsmiths and our students. You will have an entrepreneurial approach to identifying new opportunities and developing ideas. You will be experienced in the development and delivery of mid-value and/or legacy programmes, including events, and building personal relationships with alumni and alumni donors, or equivalent. You will be skilled in writing engaging fundraising copy for communications and reports. We welcome applicants with a background in the Higher Education or Not for Profit sector.

The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is prospectively recruiting a small number of Mobility Programme Grant Assessors to join an existing assessment team for a flagship outward education and training mobility programme which enables learners in schools, colleges and universities to access international study and work opportunities and delivers transformative opportunities for individuals and communities across the UK.
The ACU works with a network of external assessors to assess applications and appeals from institutions in the Schools, Further Education/Vocational Education and Training and Higher Education sectors in the UK and British Overseas Territories. This is a unique opportunity to make a major contribution to a leading global mobility programme. We are awaiting confirmation that the programme will operate in Academic Year 2025/26 and are recruiting in order to be ready should the programme go ahead. Should the programme be withdrawn, no assessors will be needed.
We are currently seeking assessors for the Schools and Further Education/Vocational Education and Training sectors only.
Assessors will be responsible for evaluating applications against the programme criteria and will work within a sector team supported by a Senior Assessor. We are keen to welcome applicants from all four UK countries - England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - to reflect the diverse and devolved nature of UK education and training.
Assessors must possess sector-specific knowledge of one or more of the sectors being recruited, and a solid track record of conducting high-quality, independent assessments for local, national or international agencies. You will also have substantial experience at a middle or senior management level in the UK Schools or FE/VET sectors, and the ability to produce concise, effective written feedback. We are also keen to hear from applicants with experience in both sectors.
Comprehensive, compulsory training will be provided to all successful applicants in March 2025, should the programme be confirmed for this year. Appointed assessors who complete the training will be paid a maximum of one day’s assessment rate as a contribution to their time spent undertaking the training.
Assessors will each be required to commit to the equivalent of approximately 2 - 2.5 days’ assessment work (16-20 hours) per week throughout the 6-week assessment window, which we anticipate will take place in April and May 2025 (subject to confirmation). This equates to 4 applications in one day (i.e. 8 applications over 2 days, 10 applications over 2.5 days). Assessors will be paid £380 for each full day of completed assessments (4 applications) or a pro-rated amount for each assessment (quarter day). This rate is inclusive of feedback consolidation and of any supplementary review or reassessment that may be needed as the result of a quality check or moderation.
Additional assessment days within the assessment window may be offered to those with capacity to do more, depending on the number of funding applications received. We also reserve the right to appoint reserve assessors in case of substantially increased demand. Being appointed is no guarantee of any paid work.

• Scoring and feedback: completing the reporting template and feedback on applications, scoring each question against the evidence provided and constructing and consolidating meaningful feedback; revisiting and, where necessary, re-assessing applications or specific questions under the guidance of the relevant Senior Assessor.
• Advice and insight: providing advice and insight on the quality of applications and the management of the process with recommendations for improvement.
Skills and experience: Essential
• Sector-specific expertise: demonstrable sector-specific knowledge and expertise of one or more of the sectors being recruited to (Schools or Further Education/Vocational Education and Training), and substantial experience at middle or senior management level in one or more of these sectors in the UK, and experience of working in education and training in one or more of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are also keen to hear from applicants with experience in both sectors.
• Assessment or evaluation experience: extensive experience of conducting high-quality, high-stakes independent assessments and/or evaluations for local, national or international agencies in an education and training context.
• Delivery: a clear track record of managing multiple priorities whilst meeting tight deadlines and exacting quality standards in order to get the job done. This also includes the ability to analyse written and numerical information and produce concise, impactful written feedback.

Prospectus is delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading public research universities to support them in their search for a temporary full time (35 hours per week) Programme Administrator to assist them during this busy time. This post is to start as soon as possible in January, either on Monday 6th January or Monday 13th January and anticipated to be until June 2025. The Role
The Development Officer (Annual Giving) plays a critical role in generating philanthropic support for the College from alumni and well-wishers. Responsibilities of the role include overseeing the annual Telephone Campaign/Giving day, working closely with senior fundraisers and the stewardship of Annual Giving prospects and donors.
The success of the Development Office depends on the flexibility and ethos of its staff. The role holder will be required to participate in activities outside the core job description that are important to the overall development programme and the College. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Requirements.
· First degree or a minimum qualification equivalent to QCF Level 4 plus experience working with children.
· The post is dependent on successful admission onto the University City London Habilitation Specialist Course beginning autumn 2025. The successful candidate will be required to apply for a place on the course by the end of February 2025.
· Experience/ knowledge of vision impairment or sign language skills would be an advantage. The post holder will need to be flexible working 36 hours including weekends when children’s recreation activities are provided.
· Attend university undertaking the Graduate Diploma in Habilitation and Disabilities of Sight (Children and Young People) at University College London, completing assignments, placement etc. in line with the requirements of the course.
The post will begin in August 2025. The Habilitation Course is modular with time shared between university and the workplace.
The role of the Habilitation Specialist is to teach concepts that most typical children learn through sight. Supporting children & young people to develop strategies to manage life without/ with reduced vision, developing independence, mobility, and daily living skills.

About the Role
- Prepare monthly management accounts pack

- Review and sign off month end reconciliations and journals of other staff.

- Assist the Finance Director with the annual budgeting process in conjunction with the timelines and requirements of BrandEd
- Preparation of financial forecasts
- Arrange/conduct monthly stakeholder meetings to discuss financial performance

- Preparation and on-going compliance in relation to the PAYE settlement agreement (PSA)
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced finance professional who combines strategic insight with operational expertise. You will have:
- A formally qualified accountant or qualified by experience accountant
- Relevant and appropriate experience in finance and management accounting obtained in a complex organisation
- An excellent communicator who is able to influence at all levels within the organisation
- Ability to work on own initiative, assess priorities and be proactive.
- Experience working in Higher education or similar setting desirable
