We are looking for a Senior Individual Giving Officer to deliver innovative, insight-led fundraising campaigns that grow supporter engagement and maximise income. Working as part of a supportive, ambitious and collaborative team, you’ll gain experience across the full Individual Giving programme while helping bring the joy and benefits of reading to children across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and data-driven fundraiser who enjoys managing campaigns end-to-end and is passionate about delivering an excellent supporter experience. Job Purpose

Location: Gloucestershire/Hybrid
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 per week (flexible working)
Salary: £57,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent

You will set the strategic direction for brand, engagement, partnerships, and income generation and ensure the mission is powerfully articulated, widely championed, and sustainably funded.
As Head of Development & Engagement, you will:
· Lead the development and delivery of a long term strategy that diversifies income and strengthens financial resilience.
· Drive the acquisition of new contracts and commissioned services.
· Build and maintain high value partnerships with funders, commissioners, and corporate partners.
· Grow and nurture a loyal donor base through innovative engagement and retention strategies.
· Oversee all marketing, PR, and brand activity to raise our profile locally and regionally.
· Build a Development and Engagement Team.

What You’ll Bring
Qualifications
· Degree level education or equivalent experience in fundraising, marketing, business development, or a related field
· Evidence of ongoing professional development
Experience
· Senior Leadership in a charitable organisation
· Raising significant sums (min of £2m)
· Strong bid writing and tendering experience
· Ability to build strategic partnerships with funders, commissioners, and corporate partners
· Experience managing brand development, media relations, and marketing campaigns
· Digital marketing and social media expertise
· Experience leading and motivating teams
· Budget management and financial forecasting skills
· Proven success delivering significant income growth across diverse fundraising streams
· Experience developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies
· Track record of securing contracts and commissioned services

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Young Enterprise at a key moment of growth and ambition for our policy and public affairs work. As Policy and Public Affairs Officer, you’ll help shape how we champion the voices and experiences of young people, ensuring their needs are reflected in decisions about education, skills and financial capability. Working closely with the Policy Lead and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll support the development of evidence-informed policy positions and contribute to impactful influencing and engagement activity.
This role is ideal for someone who is curious about how policy is made, enjoys working with ideas and evidence, and is motivated by the chance to create real-world change for young people. You’ll gain hands-on experience across research, stakeholder engagement, campaigns and parliamentary activity, in a fast-paced and supportive environment that values learning and collaboration.
