Job description

Join Citizens Advice 1066 to help people build a more secure future

Citizens Advice 1066 is looking for a compassionate and motivated Financial Wellbeing Adviser to work in partnership with Seaview Project, supporting people who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness, or moving into settled accommodation.

This is an opportunity to join two well-established local organisations working together to help some of the most vulnerable people in our community. By providing practical advice, support and advocacy, you'll help clients improve their financial wellbeing, maximise their income, manage debt and develop the skills needed to maintain independent living.

About the role

Working closely with Seaview staff, housing providers and partner agencies, you'll deliver specialist financial inclusion support using a person-centred and trauma-informed approach. You'll build trusted relationships with clients facing a range of challenges, including homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse, social exclusion and financial hardship

What you'll be doing

●  Providing advice and casework on welfare benefits, debt, budgeting and financial capability.

●  Supporting clients to maximise income through benefits, grants and other financial assistance.

●  Helping people manage rent, household bills and debts to maintain stable housing.

●  Carrying out holistic assessments and developing support plans.

●  Working collaboratively with Seaview, housing providers and other local services.

●  Advocating on behalf of clients and helping them access specialist support.

●  Maintaining accurate records and contributing to high-quality service delivery.

We're looking for someone who:

●  Has knowledge of welfare benefits, debt and financial inclusion.

●  Has experience supporting vulnerable adults through advice, support or casework.

●  Understands the challenges associated with homelessness, poverty and social exclusion.

●  Can build trust and engage effectively with people who may be reluctant to access support.

●  Has strong communication, organisational and advocacy skills.

●  Is committed to delivering person-centred, non-judgemental support.

What we offer

●  31 days annual leave including bank holidays (rising with service). Pro rata for part-time.

●  Employer pension contribution

●  Employee wellbeing support

●  TOIL scheme

●  Training and development opportunities

●  A supportive and inclusive workplace

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
