Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for Partnerships Grant Giving Officer to join our Partnership team. This role is offered on a hybrid-working basis with home working combined with 2 days per week on average in our London, Manchester or Birmingham office (TBC on application).
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation; health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year. It is a truly exciting time to be joining Centrepoint, as we work towards our vision to end youth homelessness by 2037.
About the role
The Grant Officer post will help Centrepoint to develop a grant-giving project as a part of a wider externally funded programme called More Than a Roof. The More Than a Roof programme that is supported by a large corporate partner, is projected to launch in the Autumn 2024 and will last for three years.
At Centrepoint and through the partners we work with, we see vulnerable young people arriving at supported living hostels following periods of rough sleeping, family relationship breakdowns, and a myriad of other traumatic experiences. Initially, Centrepoint wants to transform hostels around the country into homely and safe environments where young people can overcome trauma and receive the specialist support they need to give them a starting point for a happier life. We want to enable our 100 plus partner charities to access funding to implement the More Than a Roof philosophy, through a new grant-giving scheme. Youth homelessness charities would have the opportunity to apply for grants to make the living spaces of young people escaping homelessness, more like homes. This new programme will be the first time that Centrepoint has provided grants to other organisations. About Results UK
Results’ mission is to work with others to create the public and political will to end poverty, by enabling people to exercise their personal and political power for change.
Internationally, we work with Results organisations around the world, and in health we also work with partners in India, Kenya, Zambia and elsewhere through the international ACTION Global Health Advocacy Partnership. Results UK believes the building blocks of the end of poverty can be most simply articulated as “health, education, economic opportunities, and citizen voice”. These are the things that all people, wherever they live, need and have a right to.
Within these areas, we prioritise a small number of specific issues where we can have the most influence to achieve much needed development progress. Across all our issues, our aims are to mobilise resources, change policy, and create the public and political will that will bring about change.
Role description
Results has a long and successful history of engaging with UK parliamentarians around international development issues and providing them with the briefings and questions they need to raise these issues in parliament. As the Parliamentary Advocacy Officer for Education, you will lead our parliamentary work on education issues in line with our new strategy and commitment to equity. You will have a good understanding of how the UK Parliament works and how to engage parliamentarians in our issues.

- We have a staff working group on anti-oppression which helps to develop our work on anti-oppression and identify gaps in our current work.

- We are part of the ACTION global health partnership which brings together CSOs from around the world to share learning and coordinate advocacy.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
At Results UK, we believe in equality, diversity and inclusion, and that it should be the norm. As well as this being an issue of equality and fairness, we recognise that diverse and inclusive organisations are some of the most productive and impactful.
As an organisation, we are aware of the underrepresentation of certain groups and communities in our sector. These include - but are certainly not limited to - people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities, refugees, people with disabilities and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
We want to change this and are committed to playing our part as an organisation. Job Information
We’re looking for a creative-loving Marketing Communications person to join our digital content team at Hospice UK. It’s a really exciting chance to jump into a pivotal role here, and facilitate much of the great visual content that we produce as a team.
You’ll be working with some lovely people in the wider Communications and Campaigns team, which is part of an External Affairs directorate. We’re a small, close-knit department but already this year we’ve achieved some truly mighty results – not least, our recent rebrand, new strategy and new visual identity.
As you might imagine, working at a hospice charity brings with it some truly compassionate people. It’s a really lovely place to work because the people make it so. As Senior Marketing Communications Officer, you’d be part of a team of three, including your line manager (Senior Digital Marketing & Campaign Manager), and Membership Communications Officer.
And yes – as a hospice charity, we do work with death and dying on a daily basis. But it’s not all doom and gloom. Actually, by talking about it, writing about it and sharing stories about it, we’re helping to remove the stigma and taboo that it often comes with. And those stories and communications help give people hope, strength and confidence, sometimes when they need it most.
As Senior Marketing Communications Officer, you’ll be looking after a lot of our more creative, aesthetic products and projects. You might already be working as a Marketing or Digital Marketing Officer or Coordinator, and looking for the next step for your career. Or you could be an established Marcomms professional searching for a new challenge. Maybe you’ve already been in a marketing management position and want to get back to doing what you love!
Either way, you’ll be pretty knowledgeable on how to look after digital channels like social media and websites, and will have some experience of both. You might have some photoshoot management and video projects under your belt too, and ideally you’ll have experience of managing a digital asset management system. The role will also involve some print project knowledge, so it would be really handy if you’ve looked after relationships with designers, printers and know how the process works (and what gsm our new Impact Report should be, for example!)
We don’t expect you to be a brand specialist, but hopefully you’ll have experience of working with an organisation’s brand book, tone of voice and visual identity guidelines. That’s because many people in other teams here will turn to you for guidance on how to use our new brand, which logo or font to use, and requests to source appropriate photography in our house style.
We’re looking to bolster our content and storytelling about compelling hospice care, and we’d love someone to join us with ideas on how to elevate that, and help source and write those stories up for us. Part of your role as Senior Marketing Communications Officer will be to help produce content – stories, videos, photos, resources – to our two major national campaigns: Hospice Care Week, and Dying Matters Awareness Week. Check out what we did for the latter: a beautifully animated film and stories of the people in it.
Here’s what the outgoing role-holder says about her time here: “I’ve loved the variety of this role and being able to work with different teams on various projects - it keeps work interesting! I have also really enjoyed the people – my colleagues in the team are knowledgeable, supportive and collaborative.”
We’re based in London’s King’s Cross, just a five minute walk from the station. But Hospice UK employees are based all over the UK! Our hybrid working policy means that as long as you are able to get to the office a few times a month, you’re free to work from wherever you want (in the UK) for the rest of the time. We have both quarterly all-staff and External Affairs away days, which are a great chance to catch up in person with colleagues from around Hospice UK.
If you’re interested in our exciting Marketing Communications role, we’d love to hear from you.
Hospice UK:

Our mission is to promote and protect hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever.
