We are seeking an organised, professional, and committed School Receptionist to support the efficient day-to-day operations of the front office. This is a key role at the heart of school life, acting as the first point of contact for students, staff, parents, and visitors. You will work closely under the supervision of the Deputy School Business Manager while also being expected to take initiative, prioritise tasks independently, and contribute proactively to the smooth running of the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to ensure the smooth functioning of the school office.
• Manage the school reception desk and telephone/email correspondence.

A fundamental part of this remit is to be actively involved in creating and delivering engagement activities each year as well as helping to create a sustainable culture of philanthropy. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Development Manager will be responsible for working with the SLT to roll out and enhance our fundraising strategy which will include the development and implementation of regular giving. The Development Manager will identify and cultivate a major donor portfolio. 

The post holder will build long term relationships with donors through high quality care, engagement events and personalised communications. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for managing the school’s data platform ensuring accurate data is held on the potential donor pool.

The post holder will possess relevant experience, be proactive and have an excellent work ethic. The post holder will be able to manage a dynamic workload and work with a variety of people within the Albyn community. The Development Manager will be supported fully in their career and professional development within a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

These include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and implement a fundraising strategy including an annual plan for individual giving and major donor portfolio management

• Build long-term relationships with donors through high quality care, engagement events and personalised communication

• Monitor and report on fundraising budget and KPIs

• Co-ordinate an ongoing strategy of digital campaigns, direct mail and promotional materials to donor pool and wider stakeholders

• Maintain, expand and update the development database

• Research new prospects or sponsorship opportunities, interrogating the database of potential donor to identify opportunities and promoting opportunities to boost the number of contactable constitutions 

• Provide all data support and reporting required by the Director of Finance.

• Work collaboratively with the finance team to ensure rigorous gift management administration processes, including Gift Aid information records. 

• Work with external stakeholders, volunteers, and other supporters to maximise relationships and networks.

• Support donor stewardship and fundraising events with guest lists, invitations, RSVPs, event management and attending events when required.

• Support in arranging alumni visits and tours to the School.

• Carry out other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Director of Finance.

• Support the delivery of the School’s charitable vision, by attending events and presentations and acting as a strong ambassador for Albyn.

Qualifications & Experience

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

• A proven track record in fundraising and philanthropy

• A demonstrable understanding of data management and leveraging information stored on a database.

• Proven communication and project management skills, particularly event management.

• The ability to write and verbally communicate messages that are clear and concise.

• The ability to take a proactive approach to the work in support of the long term philanthropic aims of the School.

Background

The history of our Charity stretches back over 230 years to the foundation of a school for the blind by Edward Rushton. Since 1898 the school has been based in Wavertree and in 2016 Rushton Futures opened alongside the school, providing a service for young adults aged 19+ with complex needs. 

About the Rushton Centre Project

The Development Manager's primary work in the initial phase of the role will be to direct a fundraising campaign for the new Rushton Centre. The Centre is being designed to meet the changing needs of the Charity. As well as a hydrotherapy pool, we want to open a cafe which will give young people with additional needs opportunity for work, and we want to create additional spaces. The Centre will cost an estimated £4M. The Trustees are in a position to contribute £1M from reserves, but the Development Manager will play a crucial role in designing and implementing a fundraising strategy for the remaining funds. 

Key Tasks

1. Develop and implement fundraising strategies and campaigns to meet organisational goals and ensure financial sustainability.

2. Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and foundations, including individuals, corporations, and community organisations.

3. Research and pursue grants and trusts applications, managing the process from start to finish.

4. Coordinate and oversee current charitable donations and legacies.

5. Work with colleagues at the Charity to identify funding priorities; liaise with key post-holders, including the Finance Manager, to meet audit and compliance requirements.

6. Organize fundraising events and initiatives, such as galas, charity drives, and online campaigns, to generate donations and increase public awareness.

7. Manage donor databases and maintain accurate records of contributions, sponsorships, and communications.

8. Take a supporter-centred approach in all your work, building strong, respectful relationships with donors.

9. Communicate the organization’s mission and impact to donors, stakeholders, and the public through presentations, newsletters, and promotional materials.

10. Be responsible for managing and promoting our fundraising profile through social media and other online presence.

11. Monitor and evaluate fundraising campaigns to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies.

This is a rare one.

Face to face fundraising at the Fire Fighters Charity isn't a tired legacy channel, it's a programme that's been rebuilt, is already performing strongly, and is seen as central to the charity's future. The in-house team works directly with fire and rescue services across the country. A public-facing agency programme runs alongside it. Both are growing. Both need stronger leadership.

That's where you come in.

As Face to Face Manager, you won't just be keeping the plates spinning. You'll be shaping strategy, building business cases, improving data and reporting, managing agencies and an in-house team, and helping take this programme to the next level. You'll have direct access to the firefighters themselves, whose stories are among the most compelling anywhere in the charity sector.

What you'll bring:

A solid grounding or at least a strong working knowledge in face to face or dialogue fundraising, whether from the charity side or an agency background. Strong data skills and confidence with KPIs and reporting. The strategic instinct to see the bigger picture, not just the next campaign. And the personality to thrive in a remote, relationship-driven role where no two weeks look the same.

Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM is a plus. A solutions-focused mindset is a must.

Over 10,000 people from the UK fire and rescue community were supported last year. The charity has 45,000+ regular givers. Individual giving income already exceeds £4m and F2F has significant room to grow. The person who takes this role will be a key part of making that happen.

The Department

The Hurlingham Club Foundation was established in 2021 and its mission is to harness the collective strength of the Club to create spaces and opportunities that improve the health, well-being and social connection of people living in underserved areas of our borough.

The Role

As the Foundation Assistant, you will be a vital part of this small, friendly team to ensure that we manage all our events and programmes to raise the most amount of money and deliver maximum impact for people in need in our community.

You will work part time; ideally 20 hours over four days from Monday to Thursday.

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Hurlingham Club Foundation in a variety of ways.

Typical duties will include:

Event Coordination

· Supporting the planning and delivery of Foundation events.

· Managing logistics including room bookings, catering, AV, guestlists, security passes and event materials.

· Ensuring events run smoothly from setup through to delivery.

Administration & Finance

· Maintaining accurate records and financial administration.

· Supporting the processing of purchase orders, income and invoices.

Data & CRM Management

SARSAS exists to relieve the trauma and distress, and help rebuild the lives, of survivors who live in Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES, who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any point in their lives.

Role summary

As our new Operations and People Lead, you will help us continue to build and nurture a strong, can-do, and empowering operational culture that is rooted in collaboration, equity and care. You will support the CEO in ensuring the right systems and processes are in place for the smooth running of the organisation and support the Head of Programmes in the seamless delivery of our programs during a period of rapid change. Key Responsibilities

People strategy - (Approx 40%)

• Operations strategy and ways of working: Work with the CEO and SLT, co-design and implement a robust operations strategy and clear ways of working for effective allocation of team and resources to achieve the organisation's objectives, strengthening further our  principles of deep collaboration, equity and care.

• Equitable recruitment and retention strategy: Building on our existing progress in inclusive hiring, you will work closely with the CEO and SLT to evolve and champion our recruitment and retention strategy. You will continue to refine our processes, ensuring we remain at the forefront of removing access barriers and nurturing a diverse, flourishing, and long-term workforce. You will be responsible for timelining, creating Job Descriptions; advertising strategy and budget; liaise with hiring manager; referencing; offer letters & contracts.

• People development & care: Working closely with the CEO and SLT, contribute to the development and lead on the implementation of training, continuous professional development processes and policies that enable transparency, peer to peer feedback, psychological safety, professional development and empowerment.

• Delivery strategy: Working closely with the Head of Programmes, design and drive a capacity planning strategy for the team across 20+ projects to ensure impact delivery as well as balanced workloads. 

• Cross-cutting principles: Working closely with the CEO, leading internal policy work, you will steward and expand our internal policy framework, ensuring that our established principles of wellbeing, diversity, accessibility, and anti-racism continue to be deeply woven into the fabric of every new and existing policy.

Operational excellence (Approx 30%)

• Systems improvement: Enhance and adjust systems, processes, and best practices to ensure they are flexible enough to respond to the lived realities of a diverse team.

• Digital access: Lead the planning and implementation of IT and digital strategies that facilitate accessible and collaborative remote/hybrid working.

• Compliance and safety: Maintain and communicate health, safety, and security protocols through a lens of collective care and team protection.

• Process standardisation: Working with the CEO and Finance Manager, drive consistency across HR, admin, and finance to reduce cognitive load and administrative friction for the team.

HR & financial administration (Approx 20%)

• HR: 

  • HR Software & data ownership, maintenance and ensuring consistency in colleagues use of the software. 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for HR enquiries, accessibility requests, and leave calculation.

  • Act on behalf of the CEO in handling confidential issues with care and restorative intent & liaising with external HR advisor.

• Financial support: In partnership with our Finance Manager, coordinate confidential finance administration, including payroll, pensions, and audit preparation, ensuring all team members are supported by stable financial operations.

• Resource management: Manage IT and Operations budgets.

• Contract management: Oversee the administration of employment contracts and agreements and NDAs for freelancers, as well as internship placements to ensure fair and clear working agreements.

Executive support & governance (Approx 10% of the time)

• Leadership partnership: Support the SLT in strategic direction, planning, and workforce development so they can focus on fundraising, advocacy and high-level impact work.

• Support the CEO on internal communications, business travel, scheduling, diary management, technical assistance.

• Board: Manage all JB Board administration, including arranging quarterly meetings, minutes, etc.

• HR Expertise: Six to eight years of demonstrable practical experience in designing and implementing People centred strategies with a focus on collaborative leadership rooted in inclusion, equity, diversity and care (six to eight years of experience). We’re particularly interested in someone experienced and/or genuinely interested in participatory design methods that incorporate the lived experiences of a diverse team.

• Operational excellence: Six to eight years of demonstrable practical experience of developing and implementing effective operations strategies and effective systems and processes that enable organisational excellence and staff wellbeing.

You'll support the Estates Manager in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented school environment. The role includes carrying out caretaking, cleaning and minor maintenance tasks, assisting with site security and supporting the smooth running of school activities and events.

You'll ensure the school grounds are clean, safe and well-maintained including litter-picking and daily visual checks of the playground and their equipment, recording this on SafetyCulture with evidence.
