‘Generous Giving’ is a small but vibrant and established team that is part of the wider diocesan Mission and Ministry Team, under the leadership of the Director of Mission and Ministry. The focus of Generous Giving is to work with parish leadership
teams (both lay and ordained) across the diocese to develop and promote a clear vision for Christian giving by building on and encouraging a culture of generosity and enabling giving through a variety of mechanisms. This includes helping parishes to createan annual giving strategy that supports their local vision, as well as the diocesan vision and sustainability
through the parish share mechanism.

The Generous Giving Adviser will work proactively across the whole diocese to encourage the uptake of proven resources that support local parish funding initiatives including; regular giving, digital and online giving, legacy funding, grant application strategies and the use of financially efficient schemes such as Parish Buying. The Generous Giving Adviser will also promote, nurture and teach on Biblical generosity using existing discipleship resources.

This post is funded by the Archbishop’s Council via the Church of England’s National Giving Strategy. As such the successful applicant will receive additional support, resources and encouragement though the National Giving Network. This includes annual conferences, regular CPD training and an online community that meets each week.

External Communications Manager

Overview
The Talent Set is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for an External Communications Manager on a 6-month fixed-term contract for a London university. The successful candidate will lead strategic external communications, enhancing organisational reputation through media relations, content creation, and stakeholder engagement, supporting the organisation’s broader objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and assess communications and media strategies aligned with institutional goals.
• Manage the organisation’s written brand voice across all external channels, ensuring consistency.
• Create high-quality content including publications, press releases, blogs, and social media updates.
• Support marketing efforts by producing course and organisational information for website and print materials.
• Draft speeches and scripts for senior leadership; assist with crisis communications plans and messaging, including managing crisis situations to mitigate reputational risks.
• Build and sustain relationships with media professionals, journalists, and external stakeholders to secure positive coverage and build an active press desk.
• Support and develop the External Communications Officer, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Collaborate with marketing, digital, and content teams to ensure message alignment.
• Evaluate communication activities’ effectiveness using data analytics to inform future strategies.
• Represent the organisation at open days and recruitment events domestically and internationally.

Person Specification

• Proven experience managing external communications within a strategic context.
• Skilled in content creation, including press releases, speeches, and digital content.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with media contacts and external stakeholders.
• Experience building and maintaining a press desk, managing media relations proactively.
• Strong project management and organisational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and organisational values.
• Ability to lead, support, and develop colleagues in a collaborative environment.
• Adaptability and professionalism with a strategic mindset.
• Previous experience working in a higher education setting 

What’s on Offer
Salary: £53,744
Length: 6 month contract with an immediate start 
Hybrid Working: 2 days a week in their London office with 3 days working from home

As Communications Manager, you will be responsible for two of the most important aspects of our external presence: the quality of the conservation stories we tell, and our relationships with the journalists and media outlets who help us tell them.

We are looking for a training and conference lead who will design and implement our training and
conference programmes. You will work with community organisations to understand their legal
needs and tailor the training to give advisers the tools they need to help their communities. You will
work with lawyers and legal advisers to develop resources and training that are practical, holistic and
comprehensive and delivered through a range of online and in person methods.
You will be passionate and enthusiastic about access to justice with a training and development
background. You will lead on the development of a new range of resources for the wider access to
justice community with a focus on housing issues. You will also work closely with other staff to reimagine
and represent existing content in new ways. As LAG is at the heart of the social justice
lawyering community, the successful candidate will work closely with our partner organisations
