Role Requirements

Role Overview

Scope Of The Role
You will manage and successfully deliver key events including the London Marathon, Great North Run and London Landmarks Half Marathon, as well as community-centred DIY fundraising. You’ll lead on supporter recruitment and stewardship to meet or exceed agreed targets, while keeping budgets, income and performance on track. You’ll also help expand, enhance and develop virtual challenges, including our flagship challenge Walk in Her Name, as well as Community fundraising.
1)Support planning and delivery of the Events programme
i) Support recruitment, engagement and retention across our event portfolio including London Marathon, Great North Run and London Landmarks to meet or exceed agreed income and engagement targets, while keeping budgets, income and performance on track.
ii) Support the team Manager to plan and deliver virtual challenges, including our flagship event, Walk in Her Name and Walk 100, working collaboratively across the team to maximise supporter experience and campaign performance.
iii) Responsible for the OCA London Marathon team from sign-up to post-race including delivery of training and fundraising support, on the day cheer point and post-race celebration activities.

Additional details

THE ROLE
The postholder will support the Prevention Coordinator to ensure events are delivered safely and effectively.
They will offer information, advice and guidance to people facing issues that are currently or may soon affect their housing security — delivering swift, impactful interventions that help reduce the risk of homelessness, and advocating and mediating on clients' behalf as they navigate complex bureaucratic systems. This role involves building meaningful relationships with some of the most vulnerable people in our communities, connecting them with the Welfare Benefits, Housing Allocations, Citizens Advice, mental health and substance misuse support they need and deserve.
The postholder will work closely with a wide range of partners, including homelessness service providers, local authorities, and healthcare and wellbeing organisations. They will carry a varied caseload, conducting assessments and working creatively to navigate the complex and challenging issues that can lead to clients becoming homeless, supporting them to engage with services.
