About the Role

Join us and help young people aged 16–17 build safer, more independent futures. You’ll work directly with residents in our Lambeth Core & Cluster service, supporting them to develop essential life skills, engage with education or employment, and navigate budgeting, benefits and resettlement. Alongside the team, you’ll help maintain a safe and positive living environment while delivering structured, goal‑focused support. 

This is a dynamic, multi‑agency role where you’ll collaborate with social care, health, mental health and housing partners to ensure each young person receives the right wrap‑around support. You’ll bring strong safeguarding awareness, sound judgement, IT confidence and an inclusive approach, using your experience to guide young people through challenges and help them take meaningful steps toward long‑term stability. 

 In this role, you will:

• Assess young people’s needs and create focused support plans across housing, life skills, education and wellbeing.
• Secure suitable accommodation by liaising with housing providers and supporting young people through referrals and interviews.
• Deliver tenancy sustainment support, including budgeting, benefits applications and developing independent living skills.
• Support young people to access education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities.
• Connect young people with health, mental health, substance‑misuse and specialist services.
• Maintain clear safeguarding practices, risk management and accurate digital case records.
• Work collaboratively with social care, statutory partners and external agencies to coordinate wrap‑around support.
• Contribute to housing management duties, rota cover, drop‑ins and team meetings.

Support Worker

We’re recruiting multiple Support Workers (known internally as a Project Worker) to join several of our services across London. Whether it’s through semi-independent housing, mental health support, or complex needs accommodation, you’ll play a key role in helping people on their recovery journey.

We work with a Recovery Based Approach , tailoring support to each individual’s needs and goals.

This role focuses on helping adults with recent history of rough sleeping, covering 7 West London Boroughs”. You’ll form strong, trusting relationships; provide practical guidance around housing, benefits, health and meaningful activities; and work flexibly with other agencies to keep people engaged and moving forward. Using a strengths‑based approach and the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, you’ll help clients increase confidence, resilience and independence while ensuring support is personalised and accessible. 

As Floating Support Worker at our service in West London, you’ll collaborate closely with housing, health, substance‑use and community partners to deliver coordinated, high‑quality support, advocating for clients and challenging barriers when needed. Accuracy in record‑keeping, safeguarding awareness, and the ability to problem‑solve in fast‑paced community settings are essential. This role suits someone solutions‑driven, compassionate and confident working independently—including occasionally during unsocial hours—while staying grounded in dignity, inclusion and client‑led practice.

Volunteer Manager

This role will be leading in the financial business partnering needs of our Income Generation directorate. 

Among your responsibilities will be the need to align financial plans to operational and strategic plans and make sure they’re clearly understood by Business Units. Seeing that each Unit is provided with a channel of effective, two-way communication with Finance will be important too. And, when it comes to seeing that they receive regular relevant and useful financial insight and analysis, again, we’ll count on you to deliver. You’ll be working within a great finance department to achieve this, who work as a team of experts to safeguard resources and support decision making across Shelter. We strive to ensure Shelter is financially sustainable in order to achieve our vision of a home for everyone.

Role specifics

We’re looking for a qualified accountant who is confident working with colleagues across an organisation and able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance audiences. You’ll have experience assessing financial risk and producing clear, insightful analysis to support good decision-making. With strong attention to detail, excellent numeracy and solid Excel skills, you’ll be comfortable managing your time, meeting deadlines and reprioritising when needed. Experience of charity finance and working with fundraising teams would be an advantage.

 Shelter’s Finance Team sits within the Strategy Enablement Directorate, which also includes HR Operations, Technology and Data, and Governance, Planning and Property. The Finance Team consists of 32 people led by the Assistant Director of Finance.

This role sits within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Team. FP&A produces financial reports and analysis, provides expert advice, and enables collaboration to support effective decision making throughout the charity.

About the role

You will be the first point of contact for supporters seeking information about Shelter’s work, so will need excellent communication and administrative skills, a real interest in housing issues, as well as an understanding of how the Outbound Supporter Services Team impacts supporter retention. Your day to day work will include calling supporters to welcome them to the organisation and thank them for choosing to support us, undertaking quality control surveys and ensuring supporter data is accurate.

You will promote Shelter, raise awareness of housing and homelessness issues and enhance our ability to retain our supporters. You will respond to enquiries about Shelter’s work and action supporter requests. You will maintain accurate supporter records and liaise with other departments to ensure changes are actioned, as well as handling complaints about services and fundraising activity.

There will be on the job training, support and supervision and you will have access to Shelter’s Employee Assistance Programme. We can also offer flexible hours, with some office working.

About you

The role is open to anyone who has have lived experience of disadvantage, such as homelessness, housing issues, the criminal justice system, mental ill-health, money and debt issues or other disadvantages. You will have good customer service skills, are able to communicate effectively on the telephone and have good attention to detail, with the ability to capture data accurately. You also have an understanding of Microsoft Office applications.

About the Role

We are recruiting to fill the Deputy Supported Lodgings Manager role at our Regional Office in Manchester – 11 months Maternity Cover. In this role, you’ll lead a small, committed team to deliver safe, high‑quality accommodation and support, overseeing assessments, placements and risk plans to ensure every young person is welcomed, protected and set up for long‑term stability. You’ll strengthen relationships with providers and partners, uphold OFSTED and safeguarding standards, and help shape services rooted in strengths‑based, psychologically informed practice.

• Recruit, train and support Supported Lodgings Providers and service staff.

• Build effective partnerships with referral agencies, commissioners and community organisations.

• Monitor service performance, targets and budgets to ensure high‑impact delivery.

• Participate in the out‑of‑hours rota to support providers and clients when needed.

You will be working as part of a new, clinically led Rehabilitation Pathway Team and a well-established Intensive Community Rehabilitation Team within the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT). Although employed and managed by Our client, you will be working as part of an integrated clinical team. You will be working with a range of individuals who are currently admitted in independent out-of-area rehabilitation placements or BSMHFT placements, who require suitable accommodation upon their discharge. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, made up of medical and psychology professionals and local authority. This role is not limited to the Birmingham area, and you may be expected to travel outside of this area.

Ideally you will be QCF/NVQ level 3 qualified or have a willingness to work towards this qualification. It is essential that you have experience of working with accommodation providers within Birmingham and Solihull, an empathy for people experiencing mental health issues and are committed to service user involvement and empowerment. Shift pattern is 9.00am - 5.00pm, with the flexibility to work outside of these hours if necessary.

About the Role

You will support our solicitors to maintain an active caseload, enabling our clients to enforce their housing rights while ensuring a high standard of client care. Your role will be varied and will include taking instructions and witness statements, drafting letters, making applications, providing court representation and making sure time recording income targets and professional and quality standards are met. You will work closely with the team in London Hub to continuously improve and integrate our services.

About you

You will need a good understanding of Civil Procedure Rules, be able to write reports and meet financial targets, as well as being able to provide a good standard of professional service and client care. You will have excellent communication skills, both in writing/drafting and face-to-face along with proficiency using case management systems and time recording. If you have housing law experience and Legal Aid/ CCMS this would be an advantage but is not essential. You enjoy collaborating as part of a team and are able to encourage and support colleagues to meet Shelter’s strategy.

The Role

HOST seeks a qualified solicitor to establish and lead its internal legal function. The role requires expertise in UK contract and charity law, applied in an international nonprofit context. The primary jurisdiction will be England and Wales; however, given HOST’s global operations, familiarity with or awareness of the legal systems in the Netherlands, Singapore, and India would be advantageous. You will support hosting, grantmaking, partner support, and global operations, ensuring contracts, due diligence, and legal frameworks are robust, proportionate, and operationally effective.

This role combines hands-on legal review with systems design, risk oversight, and practical guidance for non-legal teams, working closely with the Executive Director and Operations leadership. As this is a newly created position, the scope and priorities of the role will naturally evolve over time in discussion with the Legal Circle. We recognise that establishing effective legal processes, procedures, and documentation will take time, and we value a thoughtful, iterative approach to building the function well.

This is a part-time role (approximately [2–3 days per week / 0.4–0.6 FTE], to be agreed).

Experience working in-house, and experience operating primarily in a remote working environment, would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Oversight & Contracts
Review and approve agreements and maintain standard templates.
Provide clear, practical risk-based advice to internal stakeholders.
Manage legal requests through a structured, auditable intake process.
Engage and liaise with external law firms where specialist advice or jurisdictional expertise is required, managing those relationships appropriately.

Due Diligence & Risk
Assess higher-risk matters (e.g. sanctions, safeguarding, governance, employment, data protection).

Scope

Will Do:
Lead legal review, maintain templates and policies, deliver accessible legal guidance, oversee a structured and transparent legal workflow, and coordinate external legal support where appropriate.

Will Not Do:
Lead commercial negotiations, manage operational delivery, approve retrospective decisions, or act outside the legal remit of the role.

HOST will support Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with scope and funding agreed based on identified needs and budget.
