Global HR Operations Manager

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Global HR Operations Manager to join their team in London, Delhi or Accra. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution. 

The HR Operations Manager is responsible for delivering high quality, consistent, and compliant HR operations across the employee lifecycle with equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) embedded throughout processes and decision-making. This role oversees global payroll governance, ensures strong HR systems and processes, maintains data accuracy and privacy, and leads operational improvements that enhance employee experience. 

This is a highly collaborative role. As part of Clean Air Fund’s people team, you will work closely with Global HR Business Partners, Finance, Recruitment, and our global Operations team.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in HR Operations / People Operations roles, ideally in global, multi-country, and scaling environments
• Strong understanding of HR systems, data, and operational processes
• Experience overseeing multi-country, vendor-led payroll
• Experience managing third-party vendors (e.g., payroll, EOR, benefits, HRIS), including service governance and issue resolution
• Solid UK payroll experience, including monthly submissions, end-of-tax-year cycles, and compliance
• Good knowledge of GDPR and data privacy standards
• Experience using technology to improve workflows, implement systems, or drive automation (ideally including Copilot Pro, though other AI proficiency is welcome)
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data, reports, and dashboards
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders while maintaining high accuracy
• Proficient in using the latest Microsoft 365 tools, comfortable with cloud-based platforms like Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, adaptable to new ways of working, and an excellent understanding of basic cyber security and data protection hygiene.

Overview of Role:

The CRM and Systems Lead plays a key role in supporting Church Army’s adoption and effective use of Microsoft Dynamics 365. The postholder will take day-to-day ownership of the CRM, acting as the ‘go-to’ expert for users, maintaining high-quality supporter data, and ensuring data is managed in line with best practice and data protection principles. They will support and train colleagues, building engagement and buy-in to the system, and embedding effective, consistent use across teams. They will also maximise the potential of Dynamics 365 and the accompanying digital marketing platform, Customer Insights, to create accurate supporter segments for effective mail and email campaigns.

Salary: £37,924 per annum (FTE, pro-rata for a part-time role)

Hours: 30-37.5 hours per week (0.8-1 FTE)

Pension: Church Army is an auto enrolment pension employer. You will be assessed under pension auto enrolment criteria.

Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part time.) Some days are compulsory leave over Christmas when the office is closed.

You will lead the development and delivery of People, Governance & Operations frameworks, aligned to the organisation’s strategy and under the direction of the Director of Finance and Resources. As a Head Of, you will contribute strategically as a specialist in your field, combining hands‑on operational delivery with a strong focus on continuous improvement. Role Specifics

They will join at a pivotal and exciting moment for the organisation, as AALT prepares to open the Anti-Apartheid Legacy Centre (AALC) at Penton Street and transition into a newly restored and developed building, establishing operations and embedding a resilient and ambitious model for the future.

Working in close collaboration with the Director, the postholder will have strategic oversight of finance, HR, governance, fundraising, and day-to-day operations, while also taking direct responsibility for delivering key operational, financial, and income-generating activity.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and active delivery. The postholder will lead on financial and operational management, co-develop and drive fundraising activity, and ensure that the organisation’s systems, processes, and resources are robust, effective, and fit for purpose.

The role will also take responsibility for venue management during the early stages of the AALC opening, before transitioning to line management of dedicated venue staff as the organisation grows.
